In the middle of the water prison, there was an empty space with a table and four long benches.
Torches burning with a ’crackle’ were inserted in the walls, accompanied by black smoke rising up.
A man in silver armor was drinking and eating around the table, his face a liver-like color, suggesting he had probably had enough to drink.
Qin Yi darted out from the shadows like a ghost.
"Bang bang...!"
A few muffled thuds sounded, and everyone at the table fell unconscious.
These people’s cultivation wasn’t high, and the silver armor on them clearly indicated that their cultivation and status were inferior to those wearing golden armor.
Qin Yi glanced at the roast chicken and pig trotters on the table. Without the support of cultivation, he was starving.
Qin Yi grabbed the food on the table and started devouring it ravenously.
He needed food to replenish his energy to have a chance to escape.
After getting full, Qin Yi intended to fight his way out like the Evil Lord had imagined.
He stripped the silver armor off one of the guards, picked up the guard’s long blade, and then started heading back.
"What are you doing?"
The Evil Lord asked curiously, unable to understand Qin Yi’s actions.
Qin Yi returned to the pool that had trapped him and jumped in with a splash.
"You barely escaped, was it just for a bite to eat?"
Ignoring him, Qin Yi took a deep breath and dove underwater.
The water was dim, only vaguely discernible.
At the moment he jumped into the water, Qin Yi discarded the armor in his hand, keeping only the long blade. The heavy silver armor sank downward.
Qin Yi continued to dive deeper.
When he reached over twenty meters, he hit the bottom.
"I understand now, you want to escape from underwater." The Evil Lord paused after speaking, "Don’t be delusional, do you think the people of the Xuantian Royal Family are fools? They would leave a way for you at the bottom of the pool."
Qin Yi remained silent, starting to search under the water.
This bottom must lead somewhere.
When he was soaking in the water before, he could clearly feel the water’s current. Although weak, he was certain the pool water was alive, not stagnant.
This is a water prison. If it were stagnant, the water would be green, turbid, and have an unpleasant odor.
But the pool water was very clear.
So Qin Yi concluded that it was live water.
If it’s live water, then there must be a connection beneath the water.
The light underwater was dim, making it hard to see. Qin Yi could only fumble around.
Fortunately, the area at the bottom wasn’t large. Although called a pool, it was actually more like a deep well.
Qin Yi’s hands explored along the stone wall.
He must find the exit quickly. Without cultivation, he couldn’t last long underwater.
Suddenly, Qin Yi’s searching hand paused.
He felt the force of the water current.
This is it... Qin Yi’s previously expressionless face broke into a slight smile.
Reaching out to feel it, this seemed to be a half-meter-wide crack, blocked in the middle by a giant stone. The water flowed in from here.
This kind of rock, in the past, Qin Yi could crush to powder with a wave of his hand.
But now, he couldn’t do it, only able to explore the shape of the rock and then think of a plan.
Qin Yi explored around it. This rock was over two meters high and half a meter wide, just wedged into the crack.
If he could shatter this rock, he could slip through the crack to escape.
Qin Yi tried using the blade, but underwater, the force of the swing was greatly diminished by the water.
Qin Yi discarded the long blade and tried using his fists, but with his injuries and the water resistance, after a few punches, the rock remained unscathed.
Qin Yi’s lungs were about to burst, he needed air.
He swiftly swam towards the surface.
"What, giving up? Didn’t I say this wouldn’t work?"
The Evil Lord gloated.
"If that old man at the Sixth Rank Transcendance Tribulation Stage found out you broke the chains and injured the guards, you’d be doomed."
Qin Yi did not pay any heed to him, reached the surface, and stealthily poked his head out, fortunately unnoticed.
He chose to take action at night precisely because no one would come here then.
Qin Yi surfaced, taking deep breaths of fresh air, while pondering how to remove that rock.
The rock is wedged in the crack; without removing it, all his efforts would be in vain.
Qin Yi took a deep breath, preparing to dive back in and figure out how to remove the rock, when he suddenly focused his gaze on the winches at the sides of the pool.
Qin Yi smiled.
The winches were coiled with a massive amount of iron chains, long enough to reach the bottom.
There’s always a way out.
Qin Yi grabbed hold of the chains, pulling them to turn the winches automatically, and he dragged the chain down to the bottom.
He found a suitable spot and wrapped the chain around the rock.
Qin Yi returned to the surface and turned the winches, tightening the chain.
"Boom!"
A deep sound echoed from below, causing the water surface to churn and spread outward.
Qin Yi’s eyes shone with excitement. The rock had been pulled away, causing a large influx of water.
Qin Yi dove back down, unfastened the chain, returned to the surface, and reset the winch.
With all this done, Qin Yi headed back underwater, swimming easily through the crack.
This seemed to be an underground tunnel, the water current rushing.
It was strenuous for Qin Yi to swim, but his survival instinct drove him to persistently swim on.
After an indeterminate amount of time, when Qin Yi could hold his breath no longer, he had to swim desperately towards the surface for air.
"Splash!"
A head emerged from the water, cautiously glancing around.
No one was there.
It was a lake, and Qin Yi quietly swam to the shore, gingerly climbing up, not daring to stand, as he surveyed his surroundings.
Flowers bloomed in profusion, the vegetation lush.
It looked like a garden.
Could it be the back garden of the Xuantian Royal Family?
Should he continue exploring underwater or find a place to hide first?
After swimming all this way, he was already exhausted from his injuries.
No, he was still not safe as long as he was in the Xuantian Royal Family grounds.
Qin Yi planned to rest for a while, then continue exploring underwater. Perhaps the river below would lead outside the royal grounds.
Just then, Qin Yi suddenly tensed up.
He heard footsteps approaching.
If he were to go into the water now, it would surely make a noise, so Qin Yi quickly hid under the flowers.
The footsteps drew nearer.
To Qin Yi’s relief, the two people approaching didn’t have the stable steps of a Qi Refiner.
"Stop it, don’t rush! Oh no, don’t tear it..."
A coquettish female voice, feigning reluctance, carried a certain seductive charm.
"Hurry up, it’s rare to get time alone, don’t let us be discovered."
A male voice, anxious, sounded.
Qin Yi was stunned, not expecting to find such diligent people even at this late hour.
He cautiously raised his head, parting the flowers and grass.
In the moonlight, across the field, flowers and plants concealed them.
"Heh heh... Didn’t expect you, like me, are of the same ilk. Get closer so I can see better," the Evil Lord’s lascivious voice echoed in Qin Yi’s mind.
