"It is not safe to go out at night considering what happened yesterday," Solomon warned, remaining in the doorway of his guest chamber.
"It is perfectly fine now that the Lumiere soldiers are here guarding the perimeter," Lune responded, offering a reassuring smile. "And it’s just a short stroll."
Solomon stepped back into his room to grab Eden’s Penance. He strapped the heavy executioner’s sword securely across his back before joining her in the corridor.
They left the inner palace and passed through the sprawling royal gardens, beginning their jog up the winding mountain trails. Lune glanced over her shoulder at the massive weapon bouncing against his back.
"There was no need for you to take the sword with you," Lune noted, navigating a steep incline.
"I do not want to take any risks," Solomon replied, keeping his pace steady beside her.
He looked at her simple, elegant dress, noticing how the light fabric lacked any type of armor or physical protection. Shifting his gaze to her arm, he realized the white silk sling was missing.
"Is it okay for you to move your hand like that already?" Solomon asked.
"The Lumiere army brought a highly potent recovery elixir from the imperial treasury," Lune explained, flexing her fingers to demonstrate her restored mobility. "The healing process accelerated immensely. I can move it freely now, although the healers said it is still too early for me to engage in swordplay."
They jogged for a few more minutes under the glowing light of the full moon. The starry sky spread out endlessly above them, offering a breathtaking view of the cosmos. Reaching the high mountain peak, Solomon stopped and looked up at the glittering expanse.
"I honestly did not know the night sky could be this beautiful," Solomon muttered, genuinely taken aback by the vast, unpolluted horizon.
Lune shot a quick glance at him. A deep pink flush painted her cheeks. "I have seen skies like this before," she murmured softly. "But tonight feels special for some reason."
Solomon kept his mouth shut, choosing not to respond to the heavy romantic implication hanging in the air.
He suddenly heard footsteps fading away over the grass. Turning his head, he saw Lune walking toward a rocky alcove slightly further up the ridge.
’Is she angry? But she isn’t the type to sulk like that...’ he thought to himself and chased after her. "Hey! Where are you going?"
Lune stopped and pointed her finger at a steaming pool of water nestled within the rocks. "There is a natural hot spring right here. I want to bathe in it. The minerals in the water are very beneficial for the body and martial prowess."
The hovering bronze owl adjusted its lens. The chat immediately recognized the classic trope.
[1Fizzy: HOT SPRING EPISODE!]
[James_hayes: W LUNE! W PRINCESS!]
[Tyler_Klare: we are eating good tonight boys.]
[Mezz_3863: Solo Man hit the jackpot.]
[Zoomtech: best stream ever.]
"I will keep my guard up out here until you are done," Solomon offered, turning his back to give her privacy.
Lune raised a sculpted eyebrow. She stepped forward and grabbed his sleeve, pulling him close enough that he could feel the warmth radiating from her skin. "I am inviting you to join me."
Solomon stood completely speechless. He looked at the translucent blue interface, watching his audience instantly descend into total degeneracy.
[GoonLord: BARK BARK BARK BARK YES YES YES!]
[Foodball: DO NOT REJECT HER SOLO MAN!]
[M00N: bro won life.]
[Alpha_char: we are witnessing history right now.]
[MattMickyD: my screen is ready.]
[Brerell: do not fumble this.]
"I cannot do anything like that," Solomon stammered, gesturing frantically at the mechanical bird. "My live stream is up and running."
[Huntinbooty: lemme get tissues.]
[Frendscham: I got mine already.]
[Koalafiedgamer: Guys have some shame. Give them privacy.]
Lune smiled and tilted her head. "I am well aware of those privacy items in your digital shop. You know that dark orb thingy that stops the broadcast for a few minutes. Arthur told me about it."
Solomon found himself completely stripped of all valid excuses. With no logical reason to refuse the royal invitation, he followed her toward the edge of the steaming water.
Lune turned around and began unlacing the ribbons of her elegant dress, letting the top layer of fabric slide down her shoulders.
Solomon instantly spun around to face the forest, giving her privacy until he heard the distinct splashing sound of her slipping into the warm pool. He checked his interface and the chat was currently begging and threatening him in equal measure.
[Xenedra: DO NOT TURN IT OFF!]
[GoonLord: IF YOU BUY THAT ORB I WILL CANCEL MY SPONSORSHIP!]
[MommyIssues: Solo Man please just let it run!]
[Fatal_Beauty: respect her privacy guys!]
[User12: I am recording just in case!]
Solomon ignored their desperate pleas. He opened the Stream Shop and quickly purchased two Null Orbs, hitting his strict weekly limit for the items.
He crushed the spheres in his hand. The dark magic erupted instantly, absorbing the light from the bronze owl’s crystal eye and plunging the broadcast into total darkness.
A soft thud caught his attention as Lune tossed a fluffy white towel over the rocks. It landed right at his feet.
Solomon took off his clothes, leaving Eden’s Penance resting against a boulder.
He wrapped the towel securely around his waist and stepped into the soothing hot spring, wading through the thick steam to settle into the opposite corner, keeping a respectful distance from the golden-haired princess.
Meanwhile, down in the guest quarters, Elizabeth slept soundly under her silk blankets. Her peaceful rest ended abruptly.
A barrage of ringing chimes echoed directly inside her mind. The viewers from Solomon’s channel felt entirely betrayed by his use of the privacy orbs. They migrated en masse to Elizabeth’s live stream, spending their points on Direct Echoes to snitch on the silver-haired boy.
[GoonLord: WAKE UP PRINCESS! THEY ARE AT THE HOT SPRING!]
[1Fizzy: Solo Man used the Null Orbs!]
[Fatal_Beauty: Lune made a move!]
[Mezz_3863: you have to stop them right now!]
Elizabeth jolted awake, her red eyes snapping open in the dark. She read the scrolling text hovering near her own bronze owl. A sudden wave of panic and indignation flooded her chest. She threw the blankets aside, hastily grabbing her coat and her sword.
She bolted out of her chamber and rushed through the palace corridors to intercept them.
