Solomon made a run for it and spotted King Shen leaning over a gaping hole in the marble floor, calling out desperately for the prince.

The two royal knights stood right beside the king, their faces pale with concern.

"What happened?" Solomon asked, jogging up to the edge of the pit.

The guards quickly drew their swords, but Shen raised a hand to lower their weapons. The king turned to Solomon with a frantic expression.

"Ryu was walking right beside me! Suddenly, the floor completely collapsed beneath his boots, and he fell into the lower cellars! He is shouting that the rubble blocked the stairs and there is no way back up!"

Solomon looked down into the dusty, collapsed floor. He immediately realized the gaping hole was the same spot he had completely blasted apart with his silver aura during his excavation the previous night.

"I will go down there and check on him," Solomon offered, quickly reassuring the panicked king.

He didn’t wait for permission. He jumped directly down the hole, landing smoothly on the lower cellar floor amidst the shattered marble. He found Prince Ryu wandering through the dim, dusty corridor, desperately searching for a way out.

All the primary pathways leading back up were entirely blocked by the massive chunks of collapsed pillars and walls Solomon had kicked apart the night before. There was literally only one viable route left, which was going further down into the unmapped depths.

Prince Ryu spotted Solomon and immediately offered a polite greeting. "You must be Solomon," Ryu said, brushing dust from his royal garments. "Pavilion Master Yue told me all about you. Thank you for stepping in and performing the ceremonial duel for Syra in my stead."

"We can talk about that later," Solomon replied, gesturing toward the dark corridor. "We have to go further down to find an exit."

Ryu looked hesitantly into the pitch-black hallway. "I am not entirely sure about this, but I will trust your judgment."

Solomon led the prince down the descending path. They jumped over collapsed beams, passed through narrow, crumbling corridors, and navigated the exact same man-made tunnel Solomon had forcefully kicked open during his previous visit.

They finally reached the bottom of the ruins. The corridor ended abruptly before the massive, monolithic pair of perfectly pristine, seamless doors.

Prince Ryu stared at the indestructible black marble, completely mesmerized. "What is this place?"

Solomon acted entirely dumb. "How would I know? It is my first time down here too. But since it is buried this deep and heavily fortified, this might be some kind of secret emergency passage or a royal bunker."

Solomon stepped forward and pretended to push his entire body weight against the heavy doors, knowing perfectly well the divine seal would absolutely not open for a commoner.

He groaned and stepped back, wiping imaginary sweat from his brow. "It is stuck. Can you help me push these doors open?"

Prince Ryu nodded and stepped up to the massive structure. He placed his hands flat against the door and pushed.

The moment the royal bloodline made physical contact with the divine seal, the monolithic doors unlocked with a deep, echoing rumble and swung open effortlessly.

Prince Ryu smiled proudly, dusting off his hands. ’I guess I naturally possess significantly more physical strength than him because I am a royal,’ Ryu thought to himself, completely unaware of the bloodline mechanics.

Solomon peered past the open doors. The interior of the secret chamber was shrouded in pitch-black darkness.

"You stay out here for a second," Solomon told the prince, resting a hand on Eden’s Penance. "I will go check inside first just to make sure the room is completely safe and free of traps."

"Very well," Ryu agreed, stepping back into the corridor, still happily admiring his own apparent physical prowess.

’If there is a royal crown left to find, it should be in here,’ Solomon thought, stepping into the pitch-black void.

It was incredibly dark inside. Since the chamber sat deep underground, there was absolutely no sunlight or natural light source to make the interior visible. The heavy doors closing behind Prince Ryu completely cut off the faint illumination from the corridor.

"If the chat was here with me, I would have just asked them to spam some flashy gifts to light this place up," Solomon muttered to the empty darkness.

He walked blindly forward for a few paces, sliding his boots carefully across the smooth stone floor. Suddenly, he spotted the faint outline of a rusted iron torch bracket mounted on a nearby stone pillar.

He moved his hand close to grab it, planning to channel a tiny spark of aura to light the pitch.

Before his fingers could even touch the rusted metal, the torch automatically ignited with a roaring blue flame.

A rushing swish echoed through the chamber. The other torches mounted on the surrounding pillars ignited one by one in a rapid chain reaction, casting an eerie, flickering blue light across the massive subterranean room.

The illumination revealed rows upon rows of ancient tombs.

There were hundreds of them.

The massive stone sarcophagi were lined up in perfect, symmetrical rows that stretched deep into the cavernous chamber. Some of the tombs were huddled closely together in familial clusters.

They varied wildly in size and grandeur. A few tombs were carved from pure white marble, adorned with luxurious gold trimmings and intricate statues of weeping angels.

Others were entirely unremarkable, forged from simple gray granite with bare, weathered lids. Faded names, royal crests, and cryptic ancient carvings decorated the stone surfaces.

"I guess this is the royal crypt," Solomon noted, keeping his hand resting on the hilt of his greatsword as he walked down the central aisle.

He glanced around, meticulously searching for any obvious clue regarding the crown’s location.

’Why would someone hide a divine artifact in a graveyard?’ he wondered. ’If it was supposed to be easily findable or visible, grave robbers or later generations of royals would have already taken it.’

"Let’s see..." Solomon let out a sigh. "I feel like this is going to get annoying."
