After conducting his investigation, Ye Liuyun discovered that this place wasn’t just rich in primordial energy infused with power of bloodline—all kinds of resources for cultivating bloodline abilities were abundant here, making it a true treasure land for bloodline cultivation.
While scouting the Burning Blood Star System, he had also taken the opportunity to capture two tribal martial cultivators who were out hunting and performed soul searches on them, learning about the various cultivation resources available in the area. This way, he would have a clearer picture when it came to negotiating resource exchanges later.
The other resources here were actually plentiful, but alchemy, artifact forging techniques, and various cultivation techniques were all lacking—yet the locals refused to trade with Evil Creature. They all jealously guarded their resources, afraid of having them taken away.
Throughout the entire star system’s central planet, there were actually many martial cultivators who had reached the ninth-level peak, but because their true essence was of such poor quality, not a single one could break through to the Taixu realm. Having strong power of bloodline alone wasn’t enough—all other aspects of their power were insufficient.
Ye Liuyun was inspired by this and had all the artifact forgers help craft some metal puppets. Puppets were unaffected by power of bloodline, giving them a distinct advantage in this kind of combat.
Ye Liuyun even captured several feral beast to learn about the local fauna. He found that the feral beast here were generally far more intelligent than those outside, though their species tended to be fairly ordinary.
He guessed that with power of bloodline this abundant, any feral beast of higher rank had probably long since broken through to the Taixu realm through bloodline inheritance.
The remaining feral beast were likely unable to break through because their bloodline inheritance lacked cultivation techniques for condensing true essence.
Using the feral beast he had tamed, Ye Liuyun had them help locate a vein of bloodline crystals. The quality of the crystals was remarkably high—even Ye Liuyun felt they were excellent cultivation resources.
He didn’t rush to mine them, not wanting to attract the attention of the local martial cultivators. Instead, he simply released the demon beasts and had everyone absorb as much energy as they could. However, the aura emanating from the demon beasts was quickly detected by the local feral beast, who let out warning cries, and soon howls echoed throughout the entire forest.
Upon hearing the howls, Ye Liuyun and his group knew they had been discovered and could only leave immediately. They also took the opportunity to set a fire, burning away all traces of their presence, before escaping through the void.
The tribe immediately dispatched a team of martial cultivators riding feral beast to investigate the area. Fortunately, Ye Liuyun had burned away all traces of the demon beasts’ aura, so they found nothing. The feral beast only reported that foreign beasts had been present, and the tribe didn’t pay much attention to it.
As for the bloodline crystals, the locals had no need for them as cultivation resources, so they never bothered to mine them—but they still didn’t want Evil Creature to obtain them, worried that someone might set their sights on this place.
Ye Liuyun felt completely helpless about the situation here.
"Looks like they’re going to force my hand into a fight!"
He figured that obtaining the resources without a battle was simply impossible. So he stopped taking risks and headed back directly to rendezvous with the various armies.
With him leading the way, the pace was far faster than any warship. Before long, he had gathered all the armies and brought them back, saving more than three months compared to the time it would have taken those armies to travel on their own.
Yu Xiaofeng immediately asked Ye Liuyun how many puppets had been forged.
"Only a hundred True-rank ninth-grade puppets were rushed to completion. The True-rank eighth-grade puppets are more numerous—eight hundred of them—and equipped with Void-rank armor and weapons, they can still hold their own against ninth-level cultivators." Ye Liuyun informed him of the artifact forgers’ progress.
Yu Xiaofeng said with concern, "The numbers are still a bit low. Based on the information you’ve provided, these puppets should be adequate for attacking some of the fringe planets, but they probably won’t be enough to take on the inner planets of their star system."
"Focus on ranged combat as much as possible and make full use of the artillery chariots. As for the rest, the artifact forgers can keep crafting while the battle is ongoing, and the soldiers can advance their power of bloodline as they capture each planet—improving as they fight." Ye Liuyun suggested.
"Mm, I suppose that’s all we can do. We’ll also need to organize the martial cultivators with strong spatial abilities to keep the enemy from getting close to us!" Yu Xiaofeng felt the issue wasn’t too serious either; the soldiers had already grown accustomed to advancing their strength in the midst of battle.
"I’ll have one of my clones take Leng Qianyu along to help!" Ye Liuyun added.
"Good. Release all the armies then—I’ll handle the arrangements." Yu Xiaofeng wasted no time and immediately began deploying his forces.
Ye Liuyun released all the armies and left everything in Yu Xiaofeng’s hands. He also dispatched his second clone along with Leng Qianyu and the spatially powerful guards by his side, having them lead the martial cultivators with strong spatial abilities to form an interception unit.
Yu Xiaofeng also pulled out all the soldiers with strong spatial abilities from the Black Armor Elite Corps and the main army. This unit would be the key to their victory or defeat.
As long as they could keep the enemy at a certain distance, victory was assured. But if the locals managed to close in, they would suffer significant casualties.
The puppets were organized into a vanguard assault unit, all equipped with Void-rank armor and weapons. Led by the first clone, along with the Demon Vine and Crimson Scale, they would engage the locals in close combat.
Ye Liuyun also assigned two Gold Dragon puppets each to his two clones, just in case.
As for the two zombie puppets, Ye Liuyun temporarily assigned them to Yu Xiaofeng to ensure the safety of the army’s supreme commander and prevent him from being ambushed by the enemy.
Tang Xinyao’s Tang family disciples, Ye Tiandao’s women’s squad, and Luo Yu were all temporarily following the Death Legion.
Ye Liuyun, meanwhile, took his demon beasts to help Yu Xiaofeng monitor the overall battlefield situation, ready to rescue the army from crisis at critical moments.
"After capturing the planet, I’ll collect the entire planet into my spatial world and let the Death Legion search for resources on their own. The corpses and ferocious beasts will be given to the combat teams as cultivation resources."
Ye Liuyun and Yu Xiaofeng had already agreed beforehand on how to handle this planet.
"Advance!"
After making all arrangements, Yu Xiaofeng gave the order as well, commanding all troops to board warships and head toward the Bloodburn Galaxy. The entire fleet consisted of over a hundred warships of various sizes, advancing majestically toward the Bloodburn Galaxy.
However, they disembarked from their warships while still far from the galaxy, proceeding in formation to avoid being discovered by enemy ferocious beasts that might launch surprise attacks before they could form up.
So when local tribesmen discovered them, what they saw was an army stretching across the horizon. Moreover, the soldiers at the front lines were all at Return One Ninth Level.
Ye Liuyun’s golden pupils could also see clearly that several local tribes had fully mobilized as well, releasing their domesticated ferocious beasts. Teams of martial cultivators were also gathering together. It seemed these people were indeed quite united.
Before Ye Liuyun’s army even approached close enough, all martial cultivators on one of their planets had assembled together, roughly forming a force of seventy to eighty thousand people. There weren’t too many Return One Ninth Level powerhouses—altogether only slightly over a thousand.
But they had gathered more than two hundred thousand ferocious beasts on their side, with over ten thousand at Return One Realm. This scale was terrifying; without firepower chariots on Ye Liuyun’s side, victory would have been impossible for them.
