Soon, the atmosphere in Surya Lok became even livelier as the guests invited to Yami’s Swayamvara began arriving one after another.

Chariots from different celestial realms appeared at the gates, carrying Devas, divine princes, kings and other distinguished guests who had come to witness the important occasion.

The entire realm seemed to grow busier with every passing hour, with attendants constantly moving between the palace and the guest quarters to make sure everyone received proper arrangements.

Devara had been given a separate guest chamber within the royal palace itself, a spacious room overlooking one of the magnificent gardens of Surya Lok. His attendants had already arranged his belongings, while Karna had been provided another chamber nearby.

Devara had barely finished settling in when he sensed two familiar divine presences approaching.

A smile immediately appeared on his face.

He didn’t even need to turn around.

"Mother."

The doors opened, and Goddess Ganga entered with Goddess Bhudevi beside her.

Devara immediately rose from his seat and walked toward them.

"Mother Ganga, Mother Bhudevi, what are you doing here?"

Ganga looked at him for a moment without answering.

Then her expression suddenly changed.

She walked straight toward him and grabbed one of his ears.

Devara’s eyes widened.

"Mother!"

"What?"

Ganga asked innocently, giving his ear a gentle tug.

"I heard my son has come all the way to Surya Lok to look for another bride while his first wife is at home carrying his child."

Devara immediately pretended to be in tremendous pain.

"Mother, please! My ear!"

Bhudevi watched the scene for a moment before slowly walking to his other side.

"Your wife is pregnant,"

She said, shaking her head with exaggerated disappointment.

"And what does her husband do? He travels to another realm for a Swayamvara."

Before Devara could defend himself, Bhudevi took hold of his other ear.

"Mother!"

Now both goddesses were holding one of his ears each.

Devara bent slightly between them, desperately trying to maintain his dignity while two of the most important women in his life treated him like a mischievous child.

"I came because Surya Dev personally invited me!"

Ganga raised an eyebrow hearing him.

"Did he?"

"Yes! Of course he did."

"And you couldn’t refuse?"

Bhudevi nodded thoughtfully.

"Of course."

She gave his ear another tiny tug.

"Because refusing a Swayamvara invitation is apparently impossible."

Devara looked from one mother to the other.

"Both of you know perfectly well why I am here."

Ganga’s stern expression lasted only another second before she finally broke into laughter and released his ear.

Bhudevi did the same.

Devara immediately rubbed both ears.

"You two planned to do this to me."

"Naturally,"

Ganga replied with a chuckle.

Bhudevi smiled back.

"We are your mothers. Did you really think we were going to let you escape without teasing you?"

Devara shook his head with an amused sigh.

"I should have known better."

Ganga then stepped closer and gently placed her hand against his cheek.

"But jokes aside, we came because we wanted to see you before the Swayamvara."

Her expression softened.

"And we wanted to remind you that whatever happens here, you already have a family waiting for you back home."

Devara smiled warmly.

"I know. How can my mothers miss it."

Bhudevi looked at him for a moment before adding with a playful smile,

"Still, if you return home with another wife, don’t expect us to defend you when Gandhari wants to punish you."

Devara’s face immediately changed.

"Mother!"

Ganga burst out laughing again.

"Look at him. Suddenly he is afraid."

Devara pointed at both of them.

"You are supposed to support your son."

"We are supporting you,"

Bhudevi replied calmly.

"We are supporting you by warning you."

Devara could only shake his head as both goddesses laughed.

Meanwhile, Goddess Yami had already heard that Devara had arrived in Surya Lok.

The moment the news reached her, she found it difficult to remain in her chamber and simply wait for the Swayamvara. She wanted to see him.

It would be different this time.

The last time they had truly spoken, she had been inside his mind space, where circumstances had forced both of them to reveal things they probably would never have said so openly otherwise.

Devara had already seen her true identity there, but this would be the first time they would stand before one another in the real world, in her own realm, with her family and everyone else around them.

Yami couldn’t help feeling nervous.

She finally decided to visit his guest chamber, accompanied by her two sisters-in-law, who had immediately understood why she suddenly seemed much more interested in visiting one particular guest than anyone else who had arrived for the Swayamvara.

As they approached the chamber, they could hear voices from inside.

Yami slowed down.

"Mother, please! My ear!"

She recognized Devara’s voice immediately.

Her cheeks turned faintly pink.

Then she heard Goddess Ganga’s voice.

"I heard my son has come all the way to Surya Lok to look for another bride while his first wife is at home carrying his child."

Yami’s face became even redder.

She stopped walking.

Her two sisters-in-law looked at her.

Then at each other.

A mischievous smile slowly appeared on both their faces.

"So this is what you wanted to hear?" one of them whispered.

Yami immediately shook her head.

"I didn’t know they were talking about that."

"Of course you didn’t."

"Stop it."

The other woman leaned closer.

"Your face is becoming red."

Yami quickly covered her cheeks with her hands.

"Please don’t tease me."

They quietly laughed as they continued toward the chamber.

Inside, Devara was still standing between Ganga and Bhudevi, rubbing his ears and complaining about the treatment he had received from his mothers.

Then he paused as his expression changed slightly.

Ganga noticed it.

"What happened?"

Devara looked toward the entrance.

"Someone is outside."

Bhudevi also sensed the presence.

Before anyone could say anything else, there was a gentle knock at the door.

Devara looked toward his mothers.

Ganga gave him an amused smile.

"Your guest has arrived."

Devara raised an eyebrow.

"Guest?"

The door opened.

Goddess Yami stepped inside, accompanied by her two sisters-in-law.

For a moment, Devara simply looked at her.

He had seen her before.

He had spoken with her.

He knew her personality, her voice and even the small expressions she made when she became embarrassed.

But this was different.

This was Yami standing before him in her own realm, wearing her celestial form, with the golden radiance of Surya Lok surrounding her.

For a few heartbeats, neither of them said anything.

Yami’s nervousness returned the moment their eyes met.

Devara smiled back.

"Yami."

Hearing her name from him made her cheeks turn pink again.

She lowered her eyes slightly before returning his smile.

"Devara."

Behind her, her sisters-in-law exchanged an amused glance.

Ganga noticed it immediately.

So did Bhudevi.

The two goddesses looked at Yami, then at Devara, and then at each other.

Ganga’s lips curled into a knowing smile as she teased.

"So this is the famous Yami who made my son ran straight over here."

Yami’s face became even redder.

"Mother..."

Devara looked at Ganga.

"You know her?"

Ganga laughed.

"Of course. We have met many times what you mean by know her."

Yami wanted the floor to open beneath her.

Her sisters-in-law were already struggling not to laugh.

Devara, meanwhile, seemed to realize exactly what was happening.

He looked at Yami with a playful expression.

"Should I be worried about what my mothers have heard?"

Yami immediately looked away.

"Perhaps."

Bhudevi chuckled looking at her reaction.

"Don’t worry, child. We are happy that you came."

Ganga nodded warmly.

"We have been wanting to meet you properly."

Yami finally looked up.

"It is an honour to meet both of you."

Ganga stepped forward and gently took Yami’s hands.

"And for us, it is good to finally meet the woman who has managed to make our son travel all the way to Surya Lok."

Devara sighed hearing his mother .

"Mother..."

Everyone in the chamber laughed.

Yami couldn’t help smiling despite her embarrassment.

After everything they had shared in Devara’s mind space, this simple meeting felt strangely more meaningful than either of them had expected.

There was no illusion.

No strange realm separating them.

No danger forcing them together.

They were simply standing before one another.

For the first time, they were meeting for real.

For a few moments, neither Devara nor Yami seemed to know what to say next.

They had spoken so much when they were together in Devara’s mind space, yet now that they were standing in the same room, surrounded by their families, both suddenly seemed to have forgotten how a normal conversation was supposed to begin.

Yami would occasionally glance at Devara, only to quickly look away whenever she noticed him looking back.

Devara wasn’t doing much better. He had a faint smile on his face, but there was an awkwardness in his expression that his mothers immediately noticed.

Ganga and Bhudevi exchanged an amused glance.

Yami’s sisters-in-law were already struggling to contain their laughter.

Finally, Dhumorna, Yama’s wife, decided that she had watched enough.

She folded her arms and looked between the two of them with a teasing smile.

"Should we all leave the room?"

Yami immediately looked at her.

"What?"

Dhumorna chuckled looking at Yami’s face.

"I am only asking because the two of you seem to have forgotten that the Swayamvara hasn’t even begun yet."

Yami’s cheeks immediately turned pink.

Dhumorna continued, enjoying every second of her embarrassment.

"Yami hasn’t chosen her husband yet, after all. So perhaps both of you should wait until the ceremony before deciding anything."

Devara couldn’t help laughing.

Yami lowered her head, clearly wishing her sister-in-law would stop.

"Dhumorna..."

"What? I’m only reminding you of the rules."

Yama, who had been standing nearby, laughed as well.

"She’s right. Father hasn’t even started the ceremony, and you two are already behaving as though the decision has been made."

Karna chuckled from the side.

"I think everyone already knows what the decision will be."

That earned him several amused looks.

Yami’s face became even redder.

Devara shook his head, trying to hide his own smile.

"I see that coming to Surya Lok was a mistake."

Ganga immediately laughed.

"Don’t blame Surya Lok. You walked into this yourself."

Bhudevi nodded in agreement.

"And we haven’t even started teasing you properly."

The entire room broke into laughter.

Yami finally looked at Devara again, and despite her embarrassment, she couldn’t stop herself from smiling.

Devara met her gaze.

This time, neither of them looked away immediately.

Dhumorna noticed it and shook her head with an amused smile.

"Yes, yes. Keep looking at each other. Just remember, the Swayamvara has not yet began."

That only made everyone laugh again, while Yami covered her face in embarrassment and Devara quietly accepted that he was never going to escape the teasing of this family.
