Marked By Destiny: Claimed By Three Alpha Brothers
Chapter 223: Saved me tonightLucien, Ronan, and Kieran reappeared inside the main living room of the mansion through teleportation.
"I’ll bring Leia and the others," Ronan said, turning on his heel.
Before he could vanish, the front doors opened, and Leia walked in with the rest of the group.
She rushed forward, wrapping her arms around Ronan briefly before pulling back. Her eyes landed on Kieran, who stood battered and bleeding. Without hesitation, she threw her arms around him and held him tight.
In that instant, Lucien vanished into thin air without a word.
"Where did he go?" Leia asked, glancing around the empty space where Lucien had been standing.
"He probably went to our parents’ grave," Kieran said softly.
"Let him have some time alone," Ronan added. He turned his attention to the rest of the group, scanning them for injuries. "Is everyone all right?"
"We’re fine. You got us out in time," Grayson replied. He stepped closer, noticing Kieran’s pale face and heavy posture. "Kieran, you look terrible. You need to call the pack’s doctor."
Grayson’s gaze shifted to where Leia was still holding Kieran’s hand. A faint, luminous blue light flared beneath her fingers, the distinct energy mark of his clan’s healers who were omegas too.
Leia’s dormant healing power had finally awakened.
As the light pulsed gently, Kieran straightened his posture, his chest rising as the exhaustion left his body. "Actually, I suddenly feel fine. The fatigue is completely gone."
"That’s because Leia just healed you," Grayson said, a warm smile touching his face.
Everyone froze in disbelief at Grayson’s declaration.
"Leia, your hand is radiating energy," Ronan said, his eyes wide with shock.
Only then did Leia and Kieran look down at their joined hands.
"My healing power..." Leia murmured, staring at the faint blue light pulsing against Kieran’s skin.
"It awakened on its own," Renzo said, a smile breaking across his face. He shifted his gaze toward Ronan, his expression turning puzzled. "And Ronan, how did you even reach us in time? Lucien is the only one who can teleport."
Delia turned toward Ronan as well, waiting for an explanation.
"It happened when I found the moonstone," Ronan explained. "It’s a long story, but the stone somehow embedded itself inside me. I intended to give it to Lucien, but there wasn’t a way to transfer it. By the time I made it back here, I realized the Alpha King’s men had already taken you all."
"I can even feel your scent and your wolf now," Leia cut in, her voice breathless.
"Me too," Ronan replied, his expression softening as he looked at her. "Our mate bond is finally fully active."
"Yes," Leia said, a genuine smile breaking across her face, though a quiet dread lingered beneath her relief. As happy as she was for the bond, her thoughts remained anchored to Lucien and the pain he was carrying alone.
Because of their active connection, both Kieran and Ronan caught the shift in their mate’s mind.
We should take her to him, Kieran mindlinked Ronan.
Agreed, Ronan responded. Turning to the rest of the group in the mansion, he said aloud, "We’ll be back shortly. Get some rest while we’re gone."
He reached out and took Leia’s hand, and within a heartbeat, the three of them vanished.
They materialized in the open clearing just outside the pack’s graveyard, where generations of ancestors lay buried alongside their parents. The air was cold and still.
Leia glanced between the two brothers, waiting for guidance.
"He’s inside. Come on," Ronan said gently.
They pushed through the iron gates and walked down the central path. Ahead, they spotted Lucien kneeling silently in the grass before their parents’ gravestones. Ronan and Kieran stepped back, releasing Leia’s hands to let her move forward alone.
She walked up to Lucien, stopping right beside him before sinking to her knees in the damp earth.
Folding her hands, Leia closed her eyes and offered a silent prayer for their souls to rest in peace. When she opened her eyes, she reached over and rested her palm over Lucien’s.
At her touch, Lucien finally turned his head to look at her.
"You’re safe," he murmured, his voice raw.
"Yes. We are all safe," Leia replied softly. She raised her hand to his cheek, gently brushing away the wet trail of a tear. She had never seen him cry before; in her eyes, he was always the strongest, the one who bore every burden without showing a crack. Seeing him stripped of that armor broke her heart. "Don’t cry. Your parents wouldn’t want to see you like this."
Lucien gave a low hum, his gaze lingering on the headstone. "I couldn’t kill Francis with my own hands. I let him manipulate me for so long, blind to what he was actually doing. Even tonight, he tried to use me to hurt all of you."
"But he failed," Leia said gently.
"Exactly," Ronan added, stepping closer beside Kieran. "You were the one who always reminded me that evil doesn’t win forever. Tonight, we saw it defeated. Our parents would want you to find peace, Lucien. You were just as much a victim that night as our parents."
"Yes, Lucien. You were trying to keep us safe this whole time. I know how hard it’s been for you, but don’t carry this weight alone," Kieran said, sinking to his knees on Lucien’s other side. "Forgive me for blaming you in the past. Tonight, when I felt you losing control, I finally understood what you went through that night when our parents died."
Through their brotherly bond, Kieran had felt the full force of Lucien’s agony in the moment he was lifted into the air to be killed. Lucien had been reliving his father’s death, tormented by the memory of watching him die in that exact same way while trapped in total helplessness.
"You saved me tonight," Kieran added with conviction. "You’ve been protecting all of us all along."
He pulled Lucien into a tight embrace. Watching the two brothers hold onto each other, both Leia and Ronan couldn’t help but smile.
"I’m your younger brother, and I always will be," Kieran said, pulling back with a slight smile. "Let me be the one to tell you—stop blaming yourself. Let me handle my own share of things from now on. Now, let’s head back home."
Lucien patted Kieran’s back, a heavy weight lifting from his chest as the warmth of his family settled in.
After a quiet moment, they all stood up. Ronan reached out, taking Leia’s hand in his before facing the graves.
"Mom, Dad... this is our mate," Ronan said quietly. "We intend to marry her soon."
He had carried lingering bitterness toward his father for years, but standing there surrounded by his brothers and mate, he finally let the resentment drift away.
"Yes, we are marrying Leia soon," Lucien added, a rare, genuine smile breaking across his face. "She will be our Luna, and we will honor her as our wife, our one and only mate."
