Martial Arts: I Have a Wilderness World
Chapter 663 - 337: Rules Update: Internal and External ReactionsChapter 663: Chapter 337: Rules Update: Internal and External Reactions
Some, however, immediately fell back to find the members of the Immortal Sects in charge.
"Everyone, remain calm. This is likely a temporary situation," a calm elder said. "It might be a Barrier Array put in place by the Immortal Sects."
His words calmed some of them down a little, as it seemed plausible that only the Five Great Immortal Sects could accomplish such a feat. But their doubts weren’t entirely dispelled, and they wondered why the Five Great Immortal Sects would do this.
Outside the Ice Cave, disciples from the Five Great Immortal Sects received reports from those at the front and became aware of the strange situation in the Secret Realm. They hurried to the barrier and dispersed the crowd of onlookers.
The disciples from the Five Great Immortal Sects gathered, and after a quick inspection, they exchanged grave looks, each suspecting the other Sects.
"Why has the Secret Realm suddenly been sealed by a Barrier? Which of your Sects is responsible?" a disciple in a blue robe asked, his face grim as he looked at the members of the other four Immortal Sects.
"That’s unlikely," another Immortal Sect disciple countered. "This Secret Realm has been here for a while, so what’s the point of doing this now? Besides, we’ve been patrolling and guarding the area this whole time and haven’t noticed anything out of the ordinary."
"Then what’s happening? Could something have changed inside the Secret Realm?" a tall Immortal Sect disciple speculated.
"There’s no point in speculating. We need to report this to our superiors and have them come inspect it."
Everyone nodded. They couldn’t figure out this barrier-like screen, and their attempts to affect it had failed. Their only option was to report it to their superiors.
Meanwhile, inside the Secret Realm, as the trapped individuals were panicking and debating what to do, something happened that stunned them all.
A rulebook automatically materialized in everyone’s hands, and at the same time, a voice resounded in their minds:
[The Controller of the Realm of Ten Thousand Races has reawakened. The passage is temporarily severed for adjustments. Rulebooks are being automatically distributed.]
As the voice faded, many people had heard the message loud and clear, but they had absolutely no idea what was going on.
"What is this? How did a manual suddenly appear?" a Martial Artist asked, astonished, looking at the palm-sized manual in his hand. He glanced around and saw that everyone else had one as well, his shock deepening.
"It says ’Rules of the Realm of Ten Thousand Races’ on it. Isn’t this the Profound Origin Secret Realm?" another Martial Artist wondered aloud.
"Did you all hear that? It said the Controller of the Realm of Ten Thousand Races has reawakened," a young Martial Artist said, his expression flickering as he scanned the crowd. "Does that mean this Secret Realm has an owner?"
But while some stared at the manuals in astonishment, others had already opened them eagerly and begun to read the contents carefully.
It detailed the rules of conduct for the Realm of Ten Thousand Races, regulations for bringing items in and out, rules for altar sacrifices, the mechanics and binding options for the Ten Thousand Races Spirit Seal, the system for automatically acquiring Points, and the safe zone rules.
As people began to read the manuals, their entire perspective on the situation shifted dramatically.
Everyone had assumed this was a vast, ownerless Secret Realm, but the manual explained that the Realm of Ten Thousand Races was actually a place where an Immortal had entered seclusion to nurture their Divine Soul. Now that a sliver of that Immortal’s Divine Soul had awakened, all these changes were occurring.
Some people grew excited about the new rules, believing the altars would bring them even greater opportunities.
"These rules for altar sacrifices sound fascinating! If we can gain immense Power through offerings, that would be incredible," a young Martial Artist exclaimed.
"And these rules for the Ten Thousand Races Spirit Seal... they feel so mysterious. I wonder what happens after you bind one," another Martial Artist added, his voice filled with anticipation. "If it really does what it says, we won’t need Storage Pouches anymore. We won’t have to worry about losing them, and it’ll make trading so much easier!"
However, some people were worried about the new rules, fearing they would introduce immense risks.
"These new rules actually allow Qi Cultivation Practitioners to enter? That’s not good news for us," an elder said with concern. "We Martial Artists can compete fairly amongst ourselves in this Secret Realm. But if Qi Cultivation Practitioners can enter, how are we supposed to compete with them?"
"At least they’re not letting Foundation Establishment experts in. So what if it’s just Qi Cultivation? If we’re prepared, and our Upper Three Grades Martial Artists team up with Innate Experts, even a Low Tier Qi Cultivation Practitioner won’t necessarily be a match for us," a young Martial Artist with a First Grade Cultivation said defiantly.
"Yeah, and we have no idea how this automatic Point acquisition rule works. What if it’s incredibly difficult to earn Points?" another Martial Artist chimed in.
"That’s nothing to worry about! We can exchange Points for Spirit Stones, Cultivation Techniques, Magical Artifacts, and Elixirs. This is absolutely an opportunity for us Martial Artists!" an optimistic Martial Artist said with excitement.
"So this is the Ten Thousand Races Spirit Seal? How magical!"
After learning about the Ten Thousand Races Spirit Seal, someone had already bound it. Understanding how it worked, they examined the Bronze Token in their hand. They excitedly practiced taking their Spirit Crystals and Spirit Stones in and out of its storage.
"Excellent. We aren’t Cultivators, so we can’t use Storage Pouches. But now, with this Spirit Seal, all we have to do is activate the personal space function, and it’s like we have our own, even more convenient, Storage Pouch."
"Hey, look! What’s that?"
Suddenly, someone pointed toward the safe zone, where several earthen houses were abruptly rising from the ground.
Within the safe zone, new altar rooms and rooms with treatment beds also began to gradually manifest from below the earth.
These clean and sturdy Earth Element homes were scattered across the sprawling safe zone. Each one looked much like an ordinary wooden cabin, but the speed at which they had appeared made them seem exceptionally mysterious.
The people who had been in the marketplace, having finished reading their manuals, began to cautiously inspect these two-room, single-story earthen houses, each of which occupied its own small plot of land.
Inside the main door, the altar room was on the left and the treatment room was on the right. The altar room was filled with various mysterious sacrificial items and ritual props.
"So this is an altar room? It looks so mysterious, but it’s also quite simple," said someone closest to the houses, marveling at the structures that had sprung from the earth.
"I wonder if you really get different rewards for making a sacrifice here," a Martial Artist said, clearly tempted to try.
"Well, we won’t know until someone tries. Old Sun, didn’t you just pick a ten-year-old Spirit Medicine? Why don’t you give it a go?"
The Elder Martial Artist known as Old Sun snorted. "If you want to test it, do it yourselves. Are you trying to use me as a guinea pig?"
Many people were discussing it, but no one dared to be the first to try.
In the other room, the treatment room, there was a comfortable-looking treatment bed.
Those who looked inside learned from the manual that these beds could provide rapid healing for the injured—from minor wounds to regenerating severed limbs or even repairing a damaged Dantian. All it required was enough Points and the necessary Ten Thousand Races Spirit Seal Level.
Looking at these treatment beds, people felt a sense of relief.
"With these treatment beds, we won’t have to worry about getting injured in the Secret Realm," a Cultivator said.
"Yes, the master of this Secret Realm must truly be an Immortal. Only an Immortal could be capable of such things," another Cultivator agreed.
As people grew to understand the new rules and explored the safe zone, their behavior started to change. Some couldn’t resist and began preparing offerings, ready to head to the altar rooms to make a sacrifice.
They hoped to obtain Elixirs and Cultivation Techniques through sacrifice to increase their strength. Otherwise, the Spirit Medicines and other items they found in the Secret Realm would only fetch a paltry sum of Spirit Stones in the outside world.
"I’m going to prepare an offering right away. All I’m missing is a good Cultivation Immortality Technique," an Innate Martial Artist declared.
"Me too," said another Martial Artist. "If I can get a more powerful weapon, hunting Exotic Beasts will be much easier."
However, after studying the rules for sacrifice, some people discovered that they could bring in approved items from the outside world to offer. This naturally gave them other ideas.
They could make a tidy profit just by exploiting the price difference.
In the process, as people studied these new features of the Realm of Ten Thousand Races, their fear of being trapped in the sealed Secret Realm began to fade. In its place, their hearts filled with anticipation and excitement.
They sensed the limitless possibilities that the new rules of the Realm of Ten Thousand Races presented and became confident about their own futures.
Of course, there were also plenty of cautious individuals among them who maintained a wary attitude.
They observed the actions of others, waiting for more information and clues. They were unwilling to take risks lightly, preferring to make their decisions only after they had a complete understanding of the situation.
