Marvel: I Am The Lord of the Shadow Dimension

Chapter 61: Chapter 61: Returning to Marvel and Forced to Study

"It is finally complete!" Luke roared, leaping from his meditation seat, his entire being trembling with an irrepressible, heaven-shaking excitement.

Two cycles of the sun and moon had passed since his profound exchange with Megatron. In his secluded cultivation, Luke had been obsessively refining his dark energy constructs, specifically the crude "floating black spheres" he had previously utilized as external divine eyes.

The original spheres were passable, yet their profound mysteries were far too simplistic and rigid. Thus, for two days and nights, he had poured his mental fortitude into evolving the design. He condensed their physical form, exponentially enhanced their aerodynamic soaring speed, and most crucially, established a telepathic soul-link and data-sharing bridge between the constructs and his Decepticon servant, Frenzy.

Because Frenzy possessed the heaven-defying Cybertronian decryption and data-conversion Dao algorithms, Luke could route the visual phenomena captured by the dark energy constructs directly through his servant, transmuting the raw magical spiritual sense into high-definition, multi-format digital illusion streams!

'I am truly a peerless genius of this generation!'

Luke proudly admired his newly evolved "black sphere"—a profound artifact that could no longer be accurately described as a mere sphere.

Hovering before Luke was a diminutive, incomparably eerie entity forged entirely from highly condensed dark energy. It carried the faint resemblance of a demonic octopus. Its bulbous "head" was studded with dozens of microscopic, constantly swiveling optical arrays that granted a flawless, 360-degree omnidirectional divine vision. It possessed several nimble tentacles, each equipped with microscopic thruster apertures capable of expelling bursts of tyrannical dark energy, granting the entity heaven-defying speed and agility. This entire peerless construct was merely the size of a lightbulb.

Originally, Luke had intended to leave a small spiritual aperture near the "mouth" of the octopus to embed one of his newly condensed Dark Energy Crystals, providing the profound puppet with an independent, everlasting energy source so it would not dissipate into the void if it strayed too far from his divine presence. He had even designed a protective, overlapping dark energy shroud to shield the crystal socket and emit localized spiritual energy pulses for communication.

Comprehending the supreme laws of the AllSpark's energy containment arrays, Luke had carved similar microscopic runic formations across the surface of the octopus's tentacles. These profound runes were not meant to shackle the drone's power, but to stabilize its mortal shell, allowing the dark energy construct to physically interact with mundane objects without instantly corroding them into ash or violently detonating.

Admiring his peerless handiwork, Luke suddenly realized the design bore an incomparably familiar aura.

"Why does this entity resemble a miniature Evil God Cthulhu?" Luke scratched his head, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

It could not be helped. The massive array of optical sensors devoured most of the surface area on the head. To ensure the sensors received adequate spiritual nourishment, Luke had routed thick, pulsing meridians of dark energy across the "skull," causing it to appear as if it were ensnared by writhing, pitch-black demonic vines...

"The profound functionality is flawless, but the aesthetic is undeniably... overflowing with killing intent," Luke concluded. "No matter, let us test its might."

He summoned Frenzy, establishing a soul-link between the Cthulhu-puppet and the diminutive Decepticon. Frenzy instantly manifested a massive, high-definition holographic array into the void, displaying a flawless, real-time panoramic illusion from the puppet's perspective. The only blind spot lay directly behind the thruster tentacles.

'Perhaps I should refine a few more demonic eyes onto the back of the tentacles?' Luke mused, inscribing the thought into his spiritual sea for future breakthroughs.

For now, he focused on testing the puppet's movement techniques. Without igniting the thrusters, the drone could silently and smoothly traverse the void, its tentacles undulating with profound grace.

Luke directed the puppet toward the wooden barrier. The dark tentacles coiled firmly around the doorknob, applied tyrannical torque, and successfully breached the door.

Sending the puppet into the outside world, Luke severed his physical line of sight, relying entirely upon the holographic illusion array projected by Frenzy.

He piloted the drone through the corridors and out a window, directly into the blazing yang energy of the afternoon sun.

"This is exactly like piloting an FPV artifact," Luke muttered. With a mere thought, he condensed a mass of dark energy into a familiar, ergonomic gaming artifact and bound it to the puppet's flight formations.

"Oh, this is actually incomparably entertaining." Luke casually piloted the demonic octopus around the mortal military sect's compound, attempting to formation-fly with a flock of passing avian beasts. However, the beasts took one glance at the terrifying, multi-eyed, pitch-black Evil God entity and instantly scattered in sheer, soul-tearing panic.

'Fine, refuse my face if you must.'

Since he could not play with the spirit beasts, Luke decided to test the puppet's ultimate velocity. Igniting all the microscopic thruster apertures simultaneously, the tiny octopus tore through the void. At its peak momentum, it broke the 300-meter-per-second threshold—nearly shattering the sound barrier!

Down below in the sect courtyard, Jazz was exchanging tactical Dao insights with several Chinese military commanders when he sensed an incomparably bizarre entity tearing across the firmament.

"Your mortal realm possesses some truly bizarre indigenous lifeforms," Jazz commented, staring at the blurry, tentacled apparition.

A nearby mortal warrior frowned, drawing forth a pair of high-powered scrying lenses.

"Heavens! What in the world is that monstrosity?! Its aura is incomparably horrifying!"

The warriors passed the scrying lenses among themselves. Recognizing the unnatural, overflowing killing intent of the entity, they immediately transmitted sound transmissions to the command pavilion.

Receiving intelligence of an unidentified, highly suspicious profound artifact entering forbidden airspace, the base commander immediately issued a highest-tier Heavenly Alert. Within breaths, warning bells shattered the heavens, and heavily armed warriors poured forth from their barracks, sprinting to assume their defensive formations.

Observing this massive mobilization from his puppet's divine eyes, Luke was utterly bewildered. 'Is there a martial sect drill today? Why did no one give me face and invite me to observe?'

He was entirely ignorant that the command pavilion was currently gripped by absolute, soul-shaking panic.

"By the Heavens, what is that monstrosity?!" the base commander roared, staring at the magnified illusion Jazz was projecting onto the main viewing crystal. Seeing the writhing, pitch-black tentacles and the dozens of swiveling, unblinking demonic eyes, a deep, primal chill crawled up the commander's spine.

It was an absolute affront to the Dao of Human Aesthetics!

Optimus Prime stared at the horrifying illusion. It faintly echoed Luke's earlier, unrefined dark energy spheres, yet Optimus could not fathom why anyone would intentionally forge an artifact that radiated such an utterly, terrifyingly evil aura.

"Bumblebee, Ironhide, Ratchet! Move to intercept and assist our mortal allies!" Optimus commanded via Autobot sound transmission, simultaneously sending a direct messaging talisman to Luke's communication artifact.

'Unknown hostiles invading?' Luke paused his control artifact and inspected the transmission.

In the very moment he read the text, the heaven-shattering roar of a high-caliber sniper artifact echoed across the sect.

Instantly, the holographic illusion from Frenzy shattered into chaotic fragments and plunged into absolute darkness.

"What happened? Was the spiritual connection severed?" Luke asked, turning to glare at Frenzy. He instinctively delivered a few physical reprimands to the tiny Decepticon's skull, attempting to realign its meridians like an archaic scrying mirror.

"It was struck down by heavenly tribulation... I mean, sniper fire," Frenzy reported miserably, nursing his battered cranium.

"Struck down?! By whom?! Have foreign enemies invaded our sect?!" Luke blinked in absolute shock, swiftly executing a movement technique toward the window to survey the mortal realm.

Gazing upon the massive martial square, he beheld hundreds of warriors locked in an impregnable defensive array, their mortal artifacts raised, scanning the firmament with extreme prejudice and overflowing killing intent.

"Jazz! What has transpired?! Where are the invading enemies?!" Luke roared out the window using his profound voice.

Jazz looked up toward his elevated pavilion. "We are ignorant of the truth! A few moments prior, an incomparably hideous, terrifying octopus-demon trespassed in our forbidden airspace, thus the sharpshooters obliterated it from the heavens! Yet it is profoundly strange... upon its destruction, it left no mortal remains, only a single, glowing pitch-black spirit stone..."

Jazz elevated the dark energy crystal that had nourished the puppet, observing it with profound curiosity. 'Wait a moment... the spiritual aura radiating from this stone feels remarkably akin to Luke's origin energy...'

'Octopus-demon?'

Luke did not catch Jazz's muttered enlightenment. Recalling his recently severed Cthulhu-puppet, a heaven-toppling wave of guilt and profound embarrassment washed over his Dao heart.

'This Junior has messed up.'

Before Luke could divine a method to explain that the terrifying demon was in truth his newly forged plaything, he suddenly felt a tyrannical, heaven-shaking pull from his dark energy soul-contract.

An entity was aggressively plundering an oceanic volume of his profound energy!

Abruptly, the firmament directly above the martial sect shattered like fragile glass. Massive, interlocking halos of golden and pitch-black magical energy manifested in the void. The colossal, incomparably intricate geometric formations layered upon one another, rapidly expanding until a massive, world-destroying magical array several hundred meters wide hung oppressively over the sect.

"INCOMING HOSTILES! PREPARE FOR MORTAL KOMBAT!" the commander roared, his eyes bloodshot as he beheld the terrifying, apocalyptic magical array forming in the heavens. He naturally assumed it was a secondary heavenly tribulation linked to the demonic octopus.

Warriors across the sect armed their profound artifacts, locking their spiritual senses onto the swirling magical vortex, prepared to unleash a torrential rain of lead and fire.

'Wait, could that aura belong to... the Venerable Ancient One?!'

Luke was not entirely certain, but he absolutely could not risk the mortal military invoking the wrath of the Sorcerer Supreme. He instantly ignited his thruster boots and shot into the firmament like a soaring dragon, drawing a massive, ten-million-point supreme energy crystal from his spatial ring, prepared to manifest an absolute heaven-defying barrier if the situation deteriorated.

High above the mortal realm, as the colossal array stabilized its profound laws, the void in the epicenter violently distorted and shattered, tearing open a massive, stable dimensional rift.

A peerless figure stepped smoothly from within the portal.

The Venerable Ancient One glanced back at her newly comprehended, massive cross-dimensional transport array with a trace of mild satisfaction before casting her sovereign gaze down at Luke and the hundreds of heavily armed mortal warriors aiming their killing artifacts directly at her divine visage.

"Is this the traditional Midgardian ceremony of welcoming a Senior?" she asked, her tone as placid as an ancient well.

"STAY YOUR HANDS! STAND DOWN! THIS SENIOR IS AN ALLY!" Luke roared, frantically waving his arms to disperse the killing intent of the warriors below.

He soared up to the Ancient One, offering an incomparably sheepish smile. "I honestly believed it would require far more cycles for you to deduce my absence from the mortal plane."

The Ancient One sighed, shaking her head in disappointment. "I did not expect your comprehension of dimensional Dao laws to be so incredibly crude and barbaric. Did you genuinely lack the enlightenment to format a basic magical sound transmission array?"

"Uh... this Junior was actively cultivating that profound skill! Actually, I just comprehended an incomparably tyrannical reconnaissance technique! I shall demonstrate it for you in the future," Luke deflected shamelessly.

The Ancient One offered a faint, amused smile, genuinely intrigued by what profound mysteries the youth had managed to cobble together. But her visage swiftly returned to an expression of solemn majesty.

"I was compelled to invoke the supreme laws of the Time Stone to divine your precise temporal and spatial coordinates across the multiverse. However, channeling a Supreme Infinity Artifact beyond the borders of our native material plane for extended epochs is incredibly perilous and risks drawing the greedy gazes of... unspeakable demonic entities. We must return to our realm immediately, lest we invite a heaven-destroying calamity."

Luke nodded without hesitation. He executed his profound shadow-stepping technique to return to his cultivation chamber, retrieved the dark energy sealing array imprisoning Megatron and his newly subjugated Decepticon lackeys, and soared back to the mortal square to offer a hurried farewell to Optimus Prime.

"I have firmly inscribed this universe's spatial coordinates into my spiritual sea! I shall descend for a visitation when my cultivation allows! Continue your meritorious deeds in developing this nation's destiny!"

Leaving behind these final words of profound encouragement, Luke dragged the massive, sealed Decepticons toward the Venerable Ancient One.

"It appears you have subjugated some new... companions," the Ancient One noted, casting her gaze upon the towering, terrifying mechanical titans.

Siphoning a tyrannical surge of dark energy from Luke's spiritual reserves, the Ancient One casually waved her jade-like hand. A profoundly complex, localized spatial compression array materialized around the Decepticons, instantly shrinking the massive, multi-ton war titans into harmless, half-meter-tall mortal playthings!

"When we return to the Holy Land of Kamar-Taj, you shall undergo a highly rigorous, mandatory closed-door cultivation to temper your foundations. Conveniently, I have also assigned you a massive new sect construction trial," the Ancient One proclaimed, her tone as immutable as the Heavenly Dao, leaving absolutely zero room for negotiation.

"Wait, what sect construction trial?!" Luke asked, a terrible premonition creeping into his Dao heart.

The Venerable Ancient One merely smiled with an enigmatic, unfathomable profoundness. She turned and began traversing back through the massive dimensional rift.

Luke snatched the floating Decepticon playthings and executed his movement techniques to hurry after her.

"ATTENTION! PRESENT ARMS!" a thunderous, commanding roar suddenly echoed across the martial sect.

Every single warrior in the courtyard perfectly synchronized their breathing, lowering their killing artifacts and snapping off a crisp, incomparably respectful military salute toward Luke.

Luke halted at the edge of the dimensional rift, gazing back at the sea of saluting warriors in absolute, soul-shaking shock. Before he could cup his fists to return the gesture of respect, the portal snapped shut, and his presence vanished entirely from that universe.

"It seems Senior has truly departed the mortal plane," Jazz murmured via sound transmission, gazing down at the pitch-black spirit stone in his palm. 'Wait a moment... this spiritual signature perfectly matches Luke's profound output. And it resonates identically to the energy wielded by that mysterious Venerable Sorcerer who just descended.'

"Ratchet! Ironhide! I have serendipitously acquired an intact energy polymer that shares identical Dao properties with Luke's anomalous spiritual signature! Shall we retreat to the alchemy pavilion to analyze its profound mysteries?!"

Perceiving that the heaven-destroying interdimensional crisis had officially passed, the base commander ordered all warriors to withdraw to their standard cultivation posts.

(Author's Note: What do you Fellow Daoists think will happen to this universe now that the Eastern Realm has formed an alliance with the Autobot Sect and acquired the profound dark energy spirit stones? Leave your insights in the jade slips below!)

Luke's expression of profound awe had not even faded from his visage before he found his boots firmly planted back within the familiar, serene spiritual courtyards of Kamar-Taj.

Yet, as his spiritual sense swept the surroundings, his jaw plummeted. It appeared as though he had been lost to the void for a full ten-year tribulation!

"What heaven-shaking calamity has befallen this Holy Land?! Why is everything reduced to ruins?! Just how many epochs was I stranded in the alternate universe?!"

Luke stared in absolute horror at the Sorcerer Supreme's private tea pavilion. The beautiful, immemorial wooden structure looked as if it had suffered a direct strike from the Ninth Heaven's Obliteration Tribulation Lightning. Half the roof was annihilated into nothingness, and the surrounding courtyard was scorched and littered with profound craters.

"Which demonic scoundrel do you believe is responsible for this?" the Ancient One asked, her tone as dangerously tranquil as a dormant volcano, an incredibly terrifying smile playing upon her lips.

Luke pointed nervously at his own mortal vessel. "Wait... this Junior?! How could I possibly obliterate your tea pavilion from an entirely different planar existence?!"

The Ancient One casually returned the glowing Supreme Time Artifact to its secure, heaven-shielded pedestal to ensure no overzealous outer-sect disciples attempted to court death by tampering with it.

"Do you recall aggressively and violently pouring over a million drops of highly volatile dimensional profound energy into our soul-contract connection without prior sound transmission?" she asked softly, gesturing gracefully at the ruined tea pavilion.

"I am not the God-King Odin. My mortal shell cannot safely contain such a tyrannical influx of raw cosmic Dao power. I was compelled to violently purge it into the surrounding earthly veins. Tell me, Venerable Lord of Shadows, are you intimately familiar with the heaven-destroying properties of your own profound dark energy?"

Luke sucked in a breath of cold air. He was incomparably embarrassed, wishing he could find a crack in the earth to hide in.

It truly was his karmic sin! When he was desperately attempting to send her a spiritual beacon, he had completely neglected the physical backlash of suddenly dumping a massive magical payload directly into a fragile mortal vessel. He merely wished to give her face and capture her divine attention!

Seeing Luke appropriately chastised and thoroughly cowed, the Venerable Ancient One manifested a massive, incredibly thick leather-bound scripture index from the void and bestowed it upon him.

"Therefore, it is an absolute imperative that you comprehend the proper, refined Dao applications of magical energy. You shall commence your penance by reading and perfectly memorizing the foundational Dao theories housed within the Kamar-Taj scripture pavilion."

Luke stared at the scripture index, which was as thick as a profound heavenly brick. His eyes widened in absolute, soul-tearing horror.

"You desire for this Junior to comprehend... over five thousand immemorial, incomparably dense magical tomes?!"

The Ancient One shook her head with supreme indifference.

Just as Luke felt a surge of foolish hope that the Venerable One was merely jesting, the Ancient One smiled. "Actually, thanks to the spoils of war I recently plundered from the various Dimension Lords you conquered, the scripture pavilion's collection has officially broken through the bottleneck and surpassed six thousand sacred volumes."

(Insert Bewildered Mortal Question Marks illusion)

Before Luke could spit blood in protest, she continued. "Furthermore, you reduced my private sanctuary to ash. To balance this karmic debt, you are solely responsible for the complete architectural reconstruction and profound renovation of the entire Kamar-Taj Holy Land."

"Wait, hold your steps! That is literal daylight robbery!" Luke gasped, staring at the perfectly tranquil Sorcerer Supreme. 'I cannot believe this Senior is actually shamelessly extorting me!'

"Produce an itemized karmic ledger first! Let this Junior see exactly how many spirit stones a ruined wooden pavilion is truly worth!"

The Ancient One cast a sideways, piercing gaze upon him. "My tea pavilion housed several centuries of my personal, heaven-defying artifacts. In mortal terms, they were priceless, millennia-old immemorial relics. Are you absolutely certain you wish for this Venerable One to calculate the exact karmic debt?"

"...Never mind. This Junior will mend it," Luke instantly capitulated, putting on his most obedient, incomparably innocent facade.

He had failed to see Mt. Tai! He never realized that beneath the facade of a humble, ascetic Daoist monk, the Ancient One was secretly an unfathomably wealthy tycoon hoarding peerless immemorial relics!

Witnessing Luke's dramatic defeat, the Venerable Ancient One simply shook her head and drifted away like an immortal cloud. Even her most dedicated, elite inner-sect disciples were strictly forbidden from freely browsing the restricted floors of the scripture pavilion. She was literally bestowing upon him the jade keys to the greatest repository of magical Dao on the mortal plane, and this foolish Junior was spitting blood over having to cultivate his mind!

Left solitary in the spiritual courtyard, Luke stared down at the massive scripture index in his hands. He suddenly experienced intense, heart-demon inducing flashbacks to his mortal academy days, drowning in an endless sea of cultivation manuals and mandatory Dao-comprehension assignments.

'So be it. I shall merely consider it a necessary breakthrough of my spiritual foundation,' Luke sighed, casting his gaze upon the half-meter-tall Megatron plaything standing frozen beside him.

His martial application of profound dark energy truly was incredibly crude and barbaric. He essentially just hurled oceanic amounts of raw tyrannical power at his adversaries until they were obliterated from the Dao. If he wished to survive the higher-tier cosmic tribulations within the Marvel Universe, he desperately needed to comprehend the subtle intricacies of the Heavenly Dao.

Clutching the heavy scripture index, Luke trudged heavily toward the grand pavilion. Along his path, his fate intersected with Baron Mordo.

"Greetings, Brother Mordo! It has been many moons!" Luke greeted him with a cheerful countenance.

"Where have you been adventuring these past few suns? Were you exploring a newly subjugated dimensional realm?" Mordo inquired, casting a suspicious gaze at the tiny, heavily armed mechanical puppet playthings trailing behind Luke. 'Just where does this monster keep unearthing such bizarre lackeys?'

"By the Heavens, did you witness the Venerable Master's new cross-dimensional transportation array?!" Mordo's eyes shone with absolute, fanatical Dao reverence. As the Ancient One's most devoted follower, beholding the sheer complexity and world-shaking scale of her newly comprehended spell had nearly forced him to his knees in ultimate kowtow worship.

Only yesterday, the Venerable Ancient One had formally inscribed the profound new technique and sealed it within Kamar-Taj's restricted archives, exponentially elevating the Holy Land's magical foundation. Mordo was fully prepared to inscribe a 10,000-word jade scroll of academic praise to exalt her selfless dedication to the mystic Dao.

Luke stared blankly at Mordo's fanatical, zealot-like expression and released a heavy sigh that carried the weight of the world.

"Indeed, it was a peerless display. Setting that aside, do you happen to possess a complete set of architectural array-blueprints and topographical scrolls for the Kamar-Taj Holy Land? The Venerable Master has decreed that I must reconstruct the entire sect."

Truthfully, reconstructing Kamar-Taj did not disturb Luke's Dao heart overmuch. His Shadowkhan were incomparably efficient laborers; they had practically erected the entire Stark Expo within a single breath of the night. Kamar-Taj, while sprawling, was not significantly vaster than Tony's massive mortal estate. It was a mere weekend tribulation at best.

"Array-blueprints? Topographical scrolls? I have absolutely no inkling where those ancient relics might be sealed. We have not significantly altered the sect's feng shui layout in centuries. I can attempt to divine their location at a later time," Mordo replied, his face filled with genuine bewilderment.

Luke nodded, waving the massive scripture index at Mordo. "Very well, you have my thanks. I am venturing to the scripture pavilion now. The Venerable Master has decreed that I must consume the knowledge of literally every single sacred text within its walls. After my closed-door cultivation is complete, gather a few high-ranking elders so we may finalize our profound energy soul-contracts."

Leaving Mordo staring at his retreating back with deep, burning, blood-coughing envy (access to the restricted archives was a heaven-defying privilege Mordo would gladly slaughter for), Luke pushed open the heavy, immemorial wooden doors of the scripture pavilion.

Gazing upon the impossibly vast, seemingly endless rows of towering scripture shelves that stretched into the very heavens, Luke felt a single, bitter tear slide down his cheek. He opened the index scroll and prepared his Dao heart for the agonizing, soul-crushing tribulation of absolute study.
