"WTF? What is that? A magic portal?"
Jane, Darcy, and Dr. Selvig were all dumbfounded. Even after the portal disappeared, they kept staring blankly at the ceiling.
"Couldn’t you make less of a scene?"
Natasha helplessly said this to Orion Cross, then looked at Coulson. "Looks like we can only be cleanup tools. Let’s move."
"Sorry, ma’am, but your bar is temporarily requisitioned. We’ll compensate you afterward."
"Everyone else, please leave immediately. Three warnings only!"
Very quickly, Coulson and Natasha cleared out the surroundings.
"Thor, it seems you’ve lost your divine power, and along with it, your courage too."
Orion Cross walked over to Thor, who had fallen on the ground, and spoke.
"How did you leave Father’s seal?"
Thor rolled over, sat on the ground, looked up at Orion Cross, and replied. At this moment, knowing he no longer had any chance to escape and pick up the hammer, he could only accept reality.
"A coincidence."
Orion Cross looked at Thor. "What about you? How did you get kicked down?"
"I thought he made a mistake. He thought I made a mistake. I was weaker than him, so my divine power was stripped away."
Thor sat on the ground, fiddling with the threads of the carpet, laughing at himself.
"Wait, what are you two talking about? Is this a play?"
Darcy heard the two of them mentioning words like "seal" and "divine power," and she could not help interrupting.
"No. It’s real. If I still have the chance to pick up Mjolnir, I can show you."
Thor turned his head and smiled at Darcy. Then his smile faded, and he looked at Orion Cross. "But there probably won’t be a chance."
"You’re going to kill him?!"
Hearing Thor’s words, Jane immediately looked at Orion Cross in shock.
"My father Odin sealed him in Midgard hundreds of years ago. Although I don’t know when he broke free of the seal, it shouldn’t have been too long ago."
Thor slowly stood up and walked in front of Orion Cross. "Then give me the death of a warrior. Transform."
Orion Cross slowly raised one hand and punched Thor on the bridge of the nose.
"Ow!"
Thor clutched his nose and fell to the ground.
"You still haven’t learned how to speak in an equal tone? Looks like you haven’t changed at all."
Orion Cross snorted coldly.
"What do we do now?"
Coulson walked to Orion Cross’s side and asked quietly.
"Didn’t he want the hammer? Take him there."
Orion Cross glanced at Thor, who was rubbing his nose, and spoke.
Half an hour later, everyone arrived at the sealed-off area around Thor’s hammer.
"So he’s Thor from the myths? And that hammer is Mjolnir, Thor’s hammer?"
Looking at the excited blond man downstairs, Darcy turned to Coulson and asked.
"Miss, you’ve already asked thirty-two questions in half an hour. We brought you here for research, not questions!"
Coulson said helplessly.
"The mythological stories I heard as a child were actually real?"
Dr. Selvig’s white beard trembled slightly. He took a book on Norse mythology out of his backpack and opened it to one of the pages.
A thunderclap suddenly rang out in the sky.
"Report! A large amount of electromagnetic waves has appeared around the object. Our communication equipment is suffering severe interference!"
A panicked voice came from the research room behind Coulson.
"With this kind of bizarre phenomenon, I think I believe it now."
Jane Foster was among the researchers, holding a pen and paper as she recorded the electromagnetic wavelength and frequency.
However, following a "No" filled with negative emotion, all the electromagnetic waves suddenly vanished.
"He failed?"
Darcy looked at Thor below, who had collapsed on his knees in front of the hammer with an expression of utter despair, then turned to Orion Cross in surprise.
"Yes. Right now, he still isn’t worthy. He hasn’t become what Odin hoped he would become."
Orion Cross smiled, turned, and left, no longer paying attention.
"Let him keep kneeling. When he gets hungry, send him a few buckets of instant noodles."
Before entering the lounge, Orion Cross casually threw out those words.
"Wait!"
Dr. Selvig hurriedly stuffed the book into his bag and chased after him.
Darcy Lewis glanced at Jane Foster in the research room and shouted, "Jane, come quickly! The professor went to find that handsome guy!"
"Coming!"
Jane packed up her things, stuffed them into her bag, and walked out of the research room. Seeing Darcy, she asked, "Where did he go?"
"The lounge. Let’s go!"
Darcy pulled Jane and quickly walked over.
"I have a question. You and Thor are enemies. Could you be Jormungandr, the World Serpent?"
Inside the room, Dr. Selvig opened his book on Norse mythology, looked at Orion Cross, and raised his question.
"Pfft."
Natasha, who was drinking a beverage while watching the show from the side, immediately spat it out. So this was what a doctor of astronomy was like? His imagination was really rich enough. What part of Orion Cross looked like a snake? Snake spirit, I need you to aid my cultivation? This was not an Eastern mythological story where snakes could transform into humans.
"No."
Orion Cross speechlessly closed the book on the table directly. "Stop looking in there. My existence isn’t recorded."
"You aren’t a figure from myths and legends?"
Dr. Selvig asked in surprise. Thor had shown fear toward Orion Cross from the very beginning, which made people subconsciously think Orion Cross should be an existence of the same level. Yet he actually was not?
"That’s right. I’m just a mortal."
Orion Cross took a sip of the ice water on the table. "If you want to study this kind of thing, you can go find the big guy downstairs."
"A mortal can’t make a god afraid."
Dr. Selvig said with a smile.
"No, a mortal can."
Natasha smiled and refuted him. "Perhaps you should look through the more famous Greek myths. Maybe you’ll find some clues."
"Greek mythology? That was real too?"
Jane Foster could not help speaking.
"It was real, but only existed in the past."
After Natasha said this, she realized something and looked at Orion Cross, asking, "Can I say it?"
"Doesn’t matter. I never intended to hide anything. Besides, even if it gets leaked, other people will only treat it as a joke or a story."
Orion Cross raised his cup and casually shrugged.
"What story?"
The three people’s gazes turned to Natasha at the same time.
"Orion does indeed exist in Greek mythology."
Natasha glanced at Orion Cross, then spoke to the three of them.
"Impossible. I just searched through it. There’s no record of him in ancient Greek mythology."
Dr. Selvig put down his phone and spoke.
"That’s because, back then, the only ones left who could record his deeds were two people. Everyone else was dead, including the gods. All! Dead!"
Natasha said calmly.
