When Ash arrived at the source of the screams with Bulbasaur and Beedrill, it was exactly as he expected: the Team Rocket trio. Only, they were currently twitching all over on the ground.

Seeing Ash forced back by the poison smoke, Jessie’s eyes shifted, and she commanded, "Now! Lickitung, attack the twerp with your tongue! Shellder, use Ice Beam!"

Hearing Jessie’s command, Lickitung pinpointed Ash’s location in the smoke and whipped its tongue out to lick him. However, just as Lickitung’s tongue was about to hit Ash, a Poison Sting viciously stabbed right into it!

"Numb..."

As the toxins from Beedrill’s stinger rapidly entered its body through its tongue, Lickitung’s face turned purple and it collapsed onto the ground.

"My Lickitung!!! Shellder, use Ice Beam!!!"

Seeing Lickitung easily taken care of by Beedrill’s Poison Sting, Jessie could only pin her hopes on Shellder’s Ice Beam. However, just as Shellder fired its Ice Beam, a miserable scream rang out.

"Nooooo! Jessie!"

"Huh?"

"Ouch!!!"

Accompanied by a tragic cry, James was frozen into an ice block by Shellder’s Ice Beam, while Ash’s Bulbasaur calmly used Vine Whip to toss the "shield" aside.

Just a moment ago, Bulbasaur had used Vine Whip to pull James directly over to act as a meat shield. This was why James had yelled for Jessie to stop. But because of the thick poisonous smoke, Jessie had no idea what was going on, resulting in James suffering friendly fire.

At this moment, Erika and the others ran over. Seeing the current situation, they knew everything was basically under control.

Ash looked at Florinda’s Gloom, thought for a moment, and said, "Florinda, let your Gloom fight Arbok and Weezing. I think, as your long-term business partner, I should have the qualifications to act as a witness to see if you are suitable to be the successor of Xanadu Nursery, right?"
