Chapter 3005: 3005. Focused And Break Time
"My name? Stop wasting time, get me what I need! Cast some magic over that metal ingot there so i can use it as a base material!" The shout was rough and showed the age of the mad golem maker.
The wandering blacksmith looked like he was living a whole other round of unhappy actions while he motioned for Walker just to indulge the man.
What was worse, it seemed that now that this old dwarf had become focused on making something unique and had the potential to actually do so, he was not letting it go. Walker even felt like he could not help stopping the man even if he used all his might. That was just the level of determination he felt now.
Beyond this, Walker also realized that the man was grabbing tools up and stacking them on the moving table he made out of golem materials he had created and used to move his body. "Let’s go! Move everything to that special forge you have. How else can I make elemental gears?"
Now Walker was even more confused but then he saw that the wandering blacksmith knew all too well this was just part of the natural process. That he had seen this more than once.
"You’ve worked with him before, haven’t you?"
"The bore mole golem."
just saying that sentence was enough for Walker to grasp what was happening and how this old crafter worked.
He had heard about one of the monster styled golems recently being used to explore and also carve out larger sections of caverns. Primarily a wine maker has commissioned the project looking for a golem to carve cooled wine tunnels for storing wines they made.
It would have helped them since they would be able to expand the business and the farm fields they already possessed. Naturally the request of Genesis had caught the eyes of a few prominent crafters including the wandering blacksmith since the crafters could take any materials discovered while the golem carved out the underground.
It was a nice additional payment and a chance to gather some much needed materials right from the land underneath the farm.
Because the farm has long allowed potions and unique fertilizers to be used, it was expected that the stones would be different underneath. Influenced by the minerals and build up over the years. Presenting some unique materials that could be harvested and used to test forging methods.
However, when the mad golem crafter had appeared hearing such a thing, the wandering blacksmith was dragged in to the forging of the golem and his workshop had been stolen from him for three weeks. It was nothing fun and he had known that the mad golem crafter had found the forges with unique flames amazing. Especially since they didn’t exist anywhere else.
Knowing this now, Walker just sighed and began storing away materials, tools, and then grabbed the mechanical golem part of the mad golem crafter. Before a word could be said, he used the teleportation skills he possessed to move them right in to the wandering blacksmith’s forge stunning the mad golem crafter.
"These golems will need to be extensions of my ability to use space mana too. They will also be under pressure from time, life, and death manas. So they will need to be adaptable. You can look at the eternal codex for inspiration but if you harm it there will be severe consequences."
The sharpness behind Walker’s comment came about because the eternal codex could not be damaged. Yes it could be repaired and he knew as it was an extension of himself that he most likely could repair it with magic if the worst happened.
Yet, it was still a part of himself as far as Walker was concerned and the bond with it was concerned. Therefore, he would not tolerate any abuse or damage to it.
The mad golem crafter waved off the thought and began tinkering here and there. The wandering blacksmith sighed again realizing that no blueprint could be added or created here. That was the norm for those having their episodes of inspiration and obsession when they were so far in to their craft that master as a title didn’t apply and instead crazy, insane, or mad applied.
But the thing was, Walker already could see a shape coming to being. It wasn’t the actual progress of a single dear and small strut being molded in front of him. It was the fact that time mana resonated with him again and the potential of what he saw was taking shape.
Whether he realized it or not, he had made a larger step forward in his future by accepting his limitations and realizing that where he stood in power right now was a limit because he saw himself as a smaller being than he really was.
He was limiting himself and now that he accepted that and looked to expand his senses and abilities to help others, he could do more. He could see a way forward that he had not seen before.
As if to support this, he also felt the mana within the unique forges resonating with him. He could feel the faint hum of what was nothing more than the time mana within each material resonating with the potential to be part of the golems being crafted. They had the potential to be part of his creations, so he could see it.
He just had to start pointing it all out.
"Midnight, want to try this?" Remey leaned on Midnight’s shoulder while she looked at several sleeping dragon hatchlings she had just dropped off at a nest of a water dragon. Their sleeping figures were only this way since she had brought them for a very long adventure through the waterways to teach them a few lessons in safely traveling through them as water dragon hatchlings that should look toward developing their smaller forms as dragonkin sooner.
"Yes yes, I know. Remey shouldn’t you be busy with Ignus working on dungeon this and that. Potion this and that? Well sure, but I wanted a break and I knew you would be free and want to try this since one of the alchemists just got approved for it."
Remey was a bit joyful in her actions and the candy red potion she showed off was radiating a sweet and spicy scent despite being stored properly. Remey also seemed to be looking for an outlet to relax after doing some work so Midnight saw it as a fun chance to relax a bit too.
The pair easily caught a hold of the same feeling and Remey began to explain the potion.
"So many chefs and other culinary focused class holders have been requesting help making potions for cooking. One of them asked for a potion that took the essence of spicy pepper and sweet cherry to be mixed. We extracted it and made this. It is basically candy. There’s a whole group of alchemists obsessed with this, they are basically chefs too now."
The laughter was because Remey knew this could capture Midnight’s interest and would also most likely draw Su in later. The two of them were all about finding new snacks to share with one another.
"The best part is that this can coat the outside of a food and then harden making a candy layer that entirely changes the flavor. It also has some nurturing capabilities that help with the flow of blood and the ease of a heart beating. The berries also added to it allow for it to dissolve easily while retaining the bright red color. It’s very interesting and can be made with lower heat and fairly affordable herbs."
The two started to rush off toward a few of the merchant streets to test it out. It was an interesting development for the two since they rarely had the time to spend on fun things lately. But, for them, it was also time to catch up with one another since they had been separated doing their own work.
Not to mention, as they ventured down the market streets, the two of them began to pay attention to the new fruits and the farmer’s goals coming toward the next growing season. They also caught sight of a few herbs being sold in pots that anyone could grow at home.
Including a stall that was selling herbs said to make air fresher. Herbs that Remey had yet to see before and that Midnight could identify as smelling more like the frosty northern territory rather than the area that they were in now.
Meaning that they had been grown and brought from further away. Presenting an interesting question.
How did this get here and was able to survive in the climate of Genesis?
Realistically, that could not be the case.
