Chapter 3010. Meditate And Watch

Chapter 3010: 3010. Meditate And Watch

"Brother!" The shout caused Walker to clutch his head and Onyx to look around the forge, worried because the wandering blacksmith was just standing very still while the other crafter Onyx didn’t recognize clicked his tongue.

"What is wrong?" Onyx carefully spoke to the wandering blacksmith watching the sudden movement of each golem around the forge change again. When he’d moved inside with his mental shout, Onyx had seen the golems halt their movement and Walker to react negatively.

"Training his control."

"Don’t worry about it. Hearing you shout in my mind echoed through each golem and it made my head hurt. I need to train myself to separate it all better." Walker responded but it wasn’t his actual body but the nearest golem responding. The wind mana had formed the words and even pushed it directly around Onyx, shocking him since the mana change felt stronger than what he was used to from Walker.

The eternal codex was spinning around Walker like it was catching more and more mana. Proof that using it to smooth out the bonds that Walker forged with the golems was ideal and better in this case. It protected him from the mana running out of control and even acted like an armor so to speak.

Since Walker had made the weapon to be part of himself and more than a weapon, but an extension of himself that could be used as shield, tool, and even mana storage, the eternal codex had a greater ability.

It could balance the manas within Walker as he brought mana through it. In this case, that was what helped him keep the separated thoughts and returned sounds and manas better organized. But smoothing that out when he was not accustomed to it was a challenge. He did not have the same mentality that came with using the eternal codex as a weapon right now.

He was focusing on it and making it part of his skill to split his attention and trying to enhance that specific skill.

In doing so, Walker felt that he was also in need of more mana within his body and the eternal codex. Not to cause changes to the golems actions, but to understand how his mana flowed throguh these bonds better.

It was the space mana that truly tripped him up.

It wasn’t that the manas were not balanced within the space mana, it was because the space mana had connected to the golems and maintaining the mana flow through the multi dimensional storage also caused additional mana to flow outside of the bonds.

If he didn’t focus on keeping that in check too, then the mana from the bonds became trickier to handle.

"Sister, be quiet and delicate, brother is training sensitive senses right now." Onyx allowed himself to show a little more of his full size from the shadows to suddenly halt Midnight at the door too.

They had both felt Walker’s mana senses expand rapidly all over Genesis. Many others most likely did as well but trusted that it was a situation the heroes and leaders could protect them from if it was a negative situation. But since nothing came of it, they believed it an intentional event.

But for Onyx and Midnight who had a clear bond with Walker, they made a move to see him and ensure that everything was alright. It just made sense that they would rush there. But Onyx was quick witted enough to keep Midnight from interrupting with a loud shout or to grab Walker and throw off his focus.

Midnight focused her eyes as she watched Walker moving the golems. She also sniffed the air carefully making note that the golems also seemed to smell like him.

Whether that was because they were entirely fused and radiating his mana wasn’t the question on her mind.

Instead, she was curious if he could still sense and see her using them. Whether it was a bit of a mischievous thought or not, Midnight stepped forward and tried to poke the side of the nearest golem. It’s similar form to Walker’s body, clearly intentional in crafting but also unique because of Walker’s bond with it.

"Hey! Don’t try and poke me in the side! You know I don’t like that!" Walker reacted naturally only with that golem. The others didn’t stop their own movements.

On cleaning, two tossing back and forth a wooden ball and another seemingly trying to write with a charcoal pencil that was commonly used to sketch blueprint designs.

Walker opened his eyes for a brief moment and looked at Midnight then shook his head. Having to dodge her attempts to poke him was also a bit of extra training. However, he also had reacted instinctively proving that he could sense more than usual.

He could feel the golem bodies.

They were foreign, they were strange.

But they were also him.

The multitude of skills he gained all acted to make the golem bodies more like his own. And if he were asked right this moment he would say that they were his bodies. They had the same feelings, his mind in them, and his mana. He just was not really there in the same physical sense as his main body.

"Dexterity appears intact. Control of mana flow is not damaging any pieces or parts. Ulterior movements with higher stress may be possible. Magic use is undetermined." the mad golem crafter spoke up before looking at a small pile of scraps and getting a glint in his eyes.

Before anyone could speak he was starting to make a small snake golem from the scraps mirrored after Onyx as if he felt inspired. Even the movement of the golem bodies had become something that didn’t interest him after seeing that he had succeeded and that he proved some internal aspect of his own skills.

"Normal." the wandering blacksmith said one word and Walker fully understood that for the mad golem crafter, this was usual behavior.

Then again, it also was what set the older dwarf aside as someone with obsession and known to sometimes ignore current jobs since they found another interest in creating a different golem.

"I can control these bodies with magic too. That is how I am speaking through them." Walker spoke from three golems using different pieces of his sentences making it feel somewhat unnerving. But it proved he could control the mana output from each to finely control wind mana.

"I didn’t expect that my mana senses would be increased so much. I can focus on all of Genesis right now and it is a lot of information. I need to meditate for a while but I will start moving my secondary bodies around. Let them help out in a few smaller tasks before I can start moving around easily."

As to prove this, Walker had the golems begin to leave the workshop while Midnight, Onyx, and the wandering blacksmith watched. "Onyx, Midnight, do you two want to accompany a golem body of mine to watch it for any potential issues? If you see anything you think I don’t notice let me know."

This was his personal test. Let the two gauge whether the golems worked well enough to establish the goals he had. Plus, the other three golem bodies would go to meet Su, Remey, and Gil respectively.

This way, he could have them keep an eye out for odd changes that Walker might not notice. Let alone also share with them the success and explain the feeling of his mana sense over all of Genesis now. He believed they should get a clearer answer than just having him pop up and explain his tests lately. This was going to show them a proof of concept in person.

Walker also needed some peace to properly settle in to meditation and expand his internal vision.

Knowing his mana senses expanded further without his push to do so meant that he had grown or opened a portion of his strength he had held back. Partially because of his worries but also because he had been unsure how to push himself to become a better hero for everyone.

Being limited to one place but being unwilling to make temporary golem bodies had made it harder for him. He wanted to achieve the benefits that the true sages had but he did not want temporary elemental golems since they were not substantial.

He also didn’t want to find a way to split his body like the elemental kings did. That was not ideal either.

This way though? It worked. It could act in a substantial physical and magical way while also giving Walker perfect information in the moment. He would be able to do more and not struggle in being as up to date as necessary in other tasks. Even better, he felt that he could teleport himself, his main body, to any golem if he truly wished to do so.

It would just cost a lot more mana.
