"The Witch is coming on a hunt with us?!"

"Methods to catch massive moose and bulls alive?!"

"Oh thank goodness, I was honestly getting so done with eating plain deer meat every day!"

"Let’s have a feast tonight!!!"

As the hunters immediately began tearing into the fresh deer carcasses and roasting the meat over the blazing fire pits, Nuan walked back over to the flat rocks.

Seeing that her clothes and socks were perfectly dry, she gave them a quick dust-off and vanished them, along with her dried clay pottery, safely into her system inventory slots.

"Time for the feast, Witch!" Lyra and Tala said softly, walking up to her side with incredibly humble, hopeful expressions.

Kael, who had shifted back into his human form, stood right beside Nuan. He crossed his arms and glared down at the two sisters, his golden eyes still flashing with a bit of lingering anger.

Nuan looked up at Kael’s brooding face and let out a long, theatrical sigh. She nudged his ribs with her elbow. "Kael, seriously, be nice to them. I’m telling you, someone has clearly fixed their internal settings, just like yours got fixed today."

Kael frowned, his jaw clenching as he kept his eyes locked onto the grass. "Only because you say so, Nuan..." he growled quietly, his tail twitching behind him. "But I swear, I will never forgive them again if they ever do a single thing to hurt you."

Tala and Lyra’s eyes instantly welled up with happy tears, and they nodded frantically. "We won’t, Alpha!!! We promise we will be good!"

Kael just gave a stiff, solemn nod, maintaining his stern, protective Alpha expression, though the tension in his shoulders finally melted away.

"Alright, enough drama! Let’s eat together!!!" Nuan cheered, rubbing her hands together greedily. "Gotta gain a massive amount of energy for tomorrow’s big hunt!"

With a bright laugh, Nuan, Kael, and the two sisters made their way over to the central fire pits, sitting down cross-legged in the warm, orange glow.

Across the clearing, Selka watched the scene unfold with a deeply contented, happy chuckle.

She walked over to the neighboring fire pit, comfortably joining Koda and the rest of the young pups.

"Mother!" all the kids cheered in unison the moment she sat down.

Without a single second of hesitation, every single pup immediately tore off the finest, juiciest bites from their roasted deer meat, eagerly offering the food straight to Selka to take care of her first.

As Selka took a bite from each of the eager pups’ offerings, Koda leaned in close, his ears twitching with curiosity. "Mother!!"

"Yes?"

"The Witch said the elephants are her buddies and friends!" Koda pointed a small finger toward the treeline where the giants had disappeared.

"Yes, so?"

"So, who are we to her?" Koda asked, tilting his head in confusion. "The Alpha is her mate, but then, what are we all?"

"Hmm... what are we?" Selka murmured, placing a hand on her chin. "Well, before I answer that, tell me, what is she to all of you?"

"Witch!" one pup shouted, waving a half-eaten bone.

"Powerful!" another chimed in.

"Witchcraft and blue dust doer!" a third added, mimicking the blue pixles with his hands.

"Kind and funny," Kiro said with a bright smile.

"Hmm, Red Evil and mate-teaching commander!" Koda finished proudly, puffing out his chest.

"Hahaha!! You kids!" Selka laughed, her shoulders shaking. "Well, is she not already living, eating, and surviving right here in the center of our clearing?"

"She is, she is!!" the young ones cheered in unison.

"Right. Then that makes her our family!" Selka said, tapping Koda’s nose.

"Ohh!!!" the pups echoed, the realization instantly clearing up their doubts.

"Mother, when will the Witch get our clan’s bloodmark?" Koda asked, his tail beginning to thud against the dirt in excitement.

"Soon!! Maybe even before the next full moon!" Selka replied, a knowing glint appearing in her silver eyes.

"Whoaa!!!" the crowd of young wolves whispered, completely awestruck by the timeline.

Selka smiled warmly, continuing to share the roasted deer meat with her rowdy kids.

Time to think of a clever way to give her that bloodmark much earlier than the full moon, Selka thought, chewing thoughtfully as her gaze drifted across the fire pit to where Nuan was laughing at Kael.

"Kael, I wanted to say something..." Nuan began, her voice softening as she swallowed the piece of roasted venison in her mouth.

Kael looked up immediately, pausing mid-chew as he was devouring his own portion. His golden eyes locked onto her face, fully attentive.

"I’m sorry about early this morning," Nuan said, looking down at her hands before meeting his gaze again. "You know, I completely misunderstood your intentions and actions. Well, I still don’t fully get why you felt the need to stop the elders, but I guess I’m sure now that you didn’t mean any mating intentions. And... and I’m really sorry that I accused you of taking advantage of me while I was unconscious and vulnerable. Especially when you were actually doing everything to keep me alive—feeding me, keeping me warm, cleaning, and cooling me down when my fever spiked. I’m... I’m sorry, Kael. And thank you so much for everything."

Lyra and Tala, who had been sitting nearby, shared a quiet, knowing look. Sensing the heavy, private shift in the air, the two sisters silently picked up their meat and slipped away into the shadows to leave them alone.

Kael stared at Nuan, quickly gulping down a large bite before shaking his head firmly. "Don’t be sorry. Don’t say thank you. I protect Nuan! That is my duty. I am just happy you woke up!"

Ugh!! Sometimes he is just entirely too innocent, like a giant puppy! Nuan thought, her chest tightening with a mix of guilt and genuine fondness.

Ding!

The familiar neon-blue system interface abruptly materialized right in her field of vision, blinking rapidly.

[ Host! I have come up with a flawless, foolproof way to force you to accept your mate! ]

Nuan let out a long, internal sigh, her eyebrows twitching. Seriously, blue buddy? You’re still on this cruise?
