Selka’s heart finally settled back into her chest, a profound wave of relief washing over her body.

Kael let out a soft breath, a tender, triumphant smile breaking across his lips as he gazed down at Nuan’s peaceful, sleeping face.

Beside them, Koda threw his head back and let out a sharp, happy bark, triggering a ripple of quiet, joyful murmurs through the rest of the pack.

Across the clearing, Tala and Lyra dropped to their knees, burying their faces in their hands as they sobbed—this time, out of pure, unadulterated relief.

Amara stared at the steel-tipped arrows and composite bows that had just materialized out of the empty air, her massive elephant ears twitching in lingering surprise.

Zuri smiled, her giant human form stepping closer. "Sister... she is definitely a witch. At least, I think the proof is right in front of us."

Amara thought for a tense second, then gave a slow, yielding nod. "It seems she is indeed a witch..."

Zuri paused, her amber eyes glinting with a sudden thought as she glanced at her sister. "But tell me, how can we be absolutely certain she is the Good Witch Astera? What if she is the Evil Witch, Nyxara?"

Amara squinted her eyes, letting out a low rumble. "Stop taunting me, Zuri! Even you know the Silver-Grey Clan owes everything to the Good Witch, and the Evil Witch has only ever caused them devastation. Besides... I can literally sense the true bond, love, and desperate care everyone in this pack has for her. Evil does not breed such devotion."

Zuri let out a soft, booming giggle.

Turning her massive head fully toward the former Alpha, Amara spoke with absolute certainty. "Very well, Selka. I believe in your words, and I believe in her witchcraft."

Selka’s fierce, predatory eyes softened, and a single, glistening tear of absolute happiness spilled over her lower lid, tracing a clean path through the dirt on her cheek.

Without wasting another moment, Amara took three slow steps backward.

She lowered her massive head and began digging into the damp jungle earth with her long, thin ivory tusks.

Within seconds, a massive, vibrant Red Root—glowing with a deep, beet-like color—was unearthed from the dirt.

Zuri reached down with her massive human hand, effortlessly pinching the root between her two thick fingers and pulling it cleanly from the soil. "We need to feed this to her immediately," Zuri said, analyzing its weight.

"She’s unconscious. She can’t chew! Make it drinkable! Use this bowl!" Kael demanded urgently, pushing the wooden carved bowl forward.

Zuri looked down at Nuan, her brow furrowing slightly. "Hmm... seeing the sheer depth of her injuries, I think even with drinking this potent syrup, it will take at least two full days for her body to fully regenerate the lost blood. She looks incredibly weak. But it cannot be helped; let us begin."

Zuri positioned the massive Red Root perfectly over the wooden bowl. With a gentle squeeze of her giant fingers, a heavy, thick, blood-red syrup began to drip steadily into the wood, filling the container with the glowing medicine.

The moment it was full, Kael snatched the bowl up, instantly sitting cross-legged right beside Nuan.

He glanced sharply at Koda, who didn’t even need to be told—the loyal wolf sprinted into the den and emerged with the thick, elephant blanket, alongside the broad, clean leaves Kael always used to feed her.

As the cool night air began to settle over the jungle canopy, Selka carefully draped the heavy blanket over Nuan, tucking it snugly up to her chest.

Kael dipped a leaf into the thick red syrup. With absolute patience, he trickled a few drops at a time past her lips, waiting intently for her throat to swallow before offering the next.

While Kael meticulously focused every ounce of his attention on making Nuan drink every last drop, Zuri and Amara stepped slightly to the side, murmuring to each other in a low, secret discussion.

Finally, the wooden bowl scraped empty.

Kael instantly whipped his head up, his eyes looking up at the two giants with demanding urgency. "She still hasn’t woken up! Fill it again! Give her more!"

Zuri let out a gentle, low chuckle. "We will definitely dig more, young Alpha, but not for her right now. She drank it slowly, and her fragile body cannot handle a sudden overload of such potent energy. We must wait until morning to figure out exactly how much more her body can safely absorb."

Amara stepped forward, her large eyes dropping to Kael’s heavily bandaged shoulder. "However... we are perfectly ready to fill that bowl thing for you. You have clearly lost a significant amount of blood, and your shoulder muscles are severely damaged."

"No!!!" Kael snapped instantly, his voice sharp and unyielding. "I don’t want to get better!"

"Hm?" Both Zuri and Amara tilted their heads in complete, synchronized confusion at his incredibly quick, hostile refusal.

Kael completely ignored them, his large hands moving to gently adjust the blanket all the way up to Nuan’s neck, ensuring no cold air could touch her skin. If Nuan wakes up fully healed and I’m also completely healed... she will just pack up her things and leave me, he thought to himself, his jaw clenching. As long as I’m injured, she’ll have to stay and look after her Alpha.

Selka caught the look in her son’s eyes and let out a long, thoroughly exhausted maternal sigh. She shook her head and looked over at the fire guardian. "Koda... go summon the Red Evil. Do not let the Witch feel a single drop of this night’s chill."

Koda nodded strictly. "Yes, mother." He immediately trotted over to the central fire pit, preparing the dry logs and flint to birth the flames.

Selka then turned her attention back to the two massive sisters. "Please, feel free to rest now. You have both endured a colossally long and grueling journey to save our pack. Roam our jungle as you like while you are here, and whenever you require water, our elders will happily guide you to the deepest parts of our river."

Both sisters nodded their massive heads in appreciation. "We will inspect her body again and dig more roots accordingly after we take a brief nap," Zuri communicated softly.

Without even moving a single inch from the trail, the two massive giants simply closed their eyes right next to the trees.

In an instant, their breathing slowed into a deep, rhythmic rumble, falling fast asleep while standing perfectly upright.
