Huo Xin is really pregnant.

Early the next morning, she went to the hospital alone for a comprehensive check-up, confirming that the fetus is two months along, successfully implanted, and developing very healthily.

Knowing that her emotional life and work are stable, and that 30 is also the best age for childbirth, the hospital suggested she go through with having the baby.

Holding the examination report, Huo Xin sat in the square opposite the hospital, using sunglasses to cover her eyes, leaning against the back of the chair. No one knew that behind those lenses, her eyes were red.

Last night, as soon as Xu Xingguang learned of Huo Xin’s pregnancy, she conveyed the news to Huo Wen’an.

After much consideration, Huo Wen’an decided to go to the Capital City to see Huo Xin.

Huo Wen’an wore a beige-gray trench coat with a long brown scarf, his jet-black long hair dancing wildly in the cold wind, the only exposed parts of his body were his ten slender and forceful fingers, and his bewitching, alluring face.

His tall figure leaned against the car, his gaze passing through the crowd, landing on the lonely silhouette sitting on the bench.

Unbeknownst to him, he became a scenic sight in the eyes of wandering artists.

After a moment, Huo Wen’an turned and walked into the café behind him. When he came out, he had a cup of coffee in his left hand and a cup of warm pure water in his right.

He strode across the crosswalk, heading towards Huo Xin.

Huo Xin, a big beauty with thick eyebrows and large eyes, wore a black leopard print trench coat today, wrapping her waist tightly, the slightly open collar revealing a black knitted dress underneath.

She didn’t wear makeup, yet she was striking enough.

Huo Xin exuded a naturally commanding aura, even sitting there alone, she carried an air of keeping others at bay. Therefore, though passersby were stealing glances at her, no one really had the courage to sit beside her.

People who are too beautiful, like blazing fire, can warm others but also burn them.

Suddenly, the sun overhead was blocked.

Behind her sunglasses, Huo Xin slightly opened her eyes and saw a takeaway cup. The hand holding the cup wore two rings.

One was the Huo Family Leader’s ring, and the other a wedding ring.

The moisture in Huo Xin’s eyes intensified.

She gently pushed away the hand, sat up straight, and only then did she accept the cup from Huo Wen’an. She asked, "Coffee? Or milk tea?"

"Warm water, about 65 degrees." Huo Wen’an sat beside Huo Xin, crossing his long legs.

Upon hearing that the cup contained warm water, Huo Xin knew Huo Wen’an was already aware of her pregnancy. "Xingguang, that girl, was quite fast to tell you."

"She was worried about you." After a pause, Huo Wen’an said, "I’m worried about you too."

Huo Xin opened the cup lid and silently took several sips of warm water, finally feeling a bit warmer.

In the deep winter, sitting under the warm sun chatting with her brother, it should have been a cozy affair, yet Huo Xin couldn’t bring herself to smile.

"What about You Jiaoyang? He doesn’t want this child?" Huo Wen’an frowned, his voice stretching, sounding as though he wanted to flay You Jiaoyang to the bone with a flaying knife.

Huo Xin shook her head gently, "He’s very happy, but the City Lord Mansion has been very busy these days, it will take him two days to arrange things before he can come over."

Upon hearing this, Huo Wen’an, like a morning-blooming flower, collected his imposing aura without a word. As if the killing intent shown earlier was merely an illusion.

Noticing Huo Wen’an’s earlier killing intent, Huo Xin found it amusing. "What? If he didn’t want this child, what would you do?"

Huo Wen’an said, "Then let him be reincarnated, and be your son in the next life."

Amused by his outrageous words, Huo Xin chuckled softly.

"Apart from him not being that type of person, even if he really didn’t want it, you shouldn’t do that either. I was the one who pursued him first." Huo Xin suddenly took out her phone and opened a photo in the album.

Huo Wen’an leaned over for a look, spotting a section of narrow waist appearing slightly pale due to lack of sunlight exposure.

It was a man’s waist.

A bloody waist chain was tattooed on it.

A chain that will never be removed.

Huo Wen’an frowned, "You tattooed that on You Jiaoyang?"

Huo Xin nodded, "Yeah, so I’m the one who’s a jerk."

Huo Wen’an raised his eyebrows, a bit surprised yet finding it fitting. "Then I won’t mess with him." Huo Wen’an suddenly reached out, easily hooked off Huo Xin’s sunglasses before she could stop him.

Seeing Huo Xin’s eyes, red from crying, Huo Wen’an softly sighed. "What are you worried about?"

Knowing she couldn’t hide anything from Huo Wen’an, Huo Xin sighed softly, her alluring face filling with worry. She said, "I don’t really want to have this child."
