Room 8

As soon as Asher deactivated the restraints holding the Shadow Demon, its shadow-like body began moving like mist. The darkness slowly spread outward before gathering together and taking the form of a humanoid demon.

The demon stood nearly four meters tall. Its body was entirely formed from a strange shadow-like substance, with no clear facial features. It had four arms, and each hand possessed three long fingers tipped with extremely sharp claws.

The moment its transformation was complete, the Shadow Demon turned toward the Asher vessel that had released it.

Without wasting even a second, it suddenly vanished from its position and reappeared directly from the shadow being cast by Asher’s vessel.

The Shadow Demon immediately attacked, swinging one of its sharp claws toward Asher’s face.

However, before the claws could even touch him, Asher suddenly disappeared.

He had teleported away.

The Shadow Demon’s claws cut through nothing but empty air.

The demon froze for a moment, seemingly surprised by what had just happened. Since it had no definite facial features, it was difficult to determine what it was feeling.

It slowly turned toward its left side.

There, several meters away, stood Asher.

He was completely calm, as though the sudden attack had been nothing more than a minor inconvenience.

The Shadow Demon looked at Asher for a moment before lowering its gaze toward its own claws.

Then, in a creepy and heavy voice, it asked,

"What type of demon are you? How can you teleport like our species without even using Shadow?"

Since Asher’s current vessel possessed the body of a demon, the Shadow Demon naturally assumed that he was also a demon.

It was confused by his ability to use Spatial Magic. Most demons naturally possessed an affinity toward specific elements or abilities from birth, while Shadow Demons were particularly known for moving through shadows.

Asher simply looked at the Shadow Demon and replied calmly,

"There’s no need for you to know that. But you’re somewhat capable. You’ll be useful against the humans who will eventually come here."

The Shadow Demon remained silent, its featureless head still facing Asher.

After a moment, Asher continued,

"But why are you trying to kill me? Instead, you should thank me for saving you. Aren’t we on the same team now?"

The Shadow Demon stared at him before answering in the same deep voice.

"I was trapped for so long. Now I need something to eat and restore my strength if I want to survive."

It paused briefly before continuing.

"And you’re the only thing here that I can eat. So I’ll have to kill you to survive, even if you were the one who freed me."

Asher stared at the Shadow Demon for a moment before a small smile appeared on his face.

"Oh, sorry. I forgot that eating is really important. Just wait a moment."

Before the Shadow Demon could attack again, the space beside Asher suddenly distorted.

Around a hundred human corpses appeared out of thin air and fell into a large pile on the floor.

These were the human corpses left behind after Asher’s vessels extracted and absorbed their mana cores.

The Shadow Demon looked at the pile of corpses before turning toward Asher.

Asher casually said,

"Here is your food. Enjoy it. I hope human corpses are to your taste. If you want, I can even bring you some demon corpses."

The Shadow Demon remained silent before asking in a wary voice,

"Who are you? You’re not a demon."

Asher immediately replied,

"Yeah, I’m not a demon. My body is just that of a demon. But if you’re asking for my name, you can call me ’Coward.’"

He paused before adding,

"Weird name, isn’t it? But it really describes my existence."

The Shadow Demon continued staring at him with suspicion.

Asher then said,

"You should start eating now. The humans could arrive at any moment. I hope you manage to kill plenty of them before you die."

After saying this, Asher suddenly disappeared, teleporting back to where his other vessels were waiting.

The Shadow Demon stared at the place where Asher had been standing before slowly turning toward the pile of human corpses.

Its hunger, suppressed for so long, began taking over.

The Shadow Demon moved toward the corpses and opened its large mouth, revealing rows of sharp, shadow-like teeth.

It then began consuming the corpses one after another, finally replenishing the strength it had lost during its long imprisonment.

Room 7

After deactivating the restraints, the Master-rank Dream Demon was finally free.

Its body was still not completely visible, as a layer of black fog continuously revolved around it, partially concealing its true form.

After being released, the Dream Demon looked toward Asher, who had freed it, for a moment.

However, instead of confronting him, its body suddenly began changing.

Its form turned into mist, and it immediately passed through the gate of the room without offering any resistance or attempting to confront Asher’s vessel.

The enchantments that had previously sealed the room had already been destroyed, so the Dream Demon easily escaped through the main entrance and disappeared into the facility.

Asher simply watched the demon’s figure vanish.

There was nothing more for him to do in this room. The Dream Demon didn’t seem interested in fighting, nor did it appear to have any need to consume flesh, even if it needed something to restore its strength.

Asher therefore didn’t bother following it.

He simply teleported away and returned to the location where his other vessels were gathered.

Room 6

As soon as the restraints were deactivated, the giant Ironhide Demon slowly opened its eyes.

Its enormous body began moving, and the sheer force of its movements caused the ground beneath it to tremble.

The demon looked around the room for a moment before its gaze finally stopped on Asher.

It stared at him briefly but didn’t seem particularly interested in him.

Instead, the Ironhide Demon turned toward the massive metal gate of the room.
