The attack struck the group of Master-rank guards before any of them could react.
A brilliant flash of Light Element mana engulfed the entire area.
When the light finally disappeared, none of the Master-rank guards remained. Their bodies had been completely erased by the overwhelming attack, leaving not even their corpses behind.
For a moment, the entire battlefield became strangely quiet.
Ravena’s expression changed as she stared at the empty space where the guards had been standing moments ago.
Dominique also froze for a moment, clearly surprised by Steve’s sudden decision.
Steve simply lowered his spear slightly and looked toward them with a calm expression.
He had deliberately killed the guards himself before Ravena could continue using their blood to replenish her strength.
Ravena looked at Steve and then said, "You call us demons, but aren’t you more of a demon yourself, taking the lives of your own precious kin?"
Steve simply clicked his tongue in annoyance before replying, "That is just a sacrifice for the greater good, something stupid demons like you would never understand in your entire life."
Ravena simply laughed.
"Haha... yeah, for the greater good, of course."
However, her expression soon changed into a faint smile.
She continued, "You killed them so I couldn’t absorb their blood, but did you forget that there is another demon here who can absorb the souls of others?"
As soon as she said that, Dominique moved.
She absorbed the souls of the dead. Their bodies had been completely destroyed, leaving Ravena with nothing she could absorb, but their souls were still present, lingering around the battlefield like faint traces of energy.
Dominique quickly took advantage of the situation and absorbed them one after another, using the souls to recover some of the strength she had lost during her imprisonment. Her aura gradually became stronger as the souls disappeared into her body.
Steve noticed what Dominique had done, but he couldn’t do anything about it at that moment. He couldn’t afford to take his attention away from Ravena.
Instead, Steve increased the intensity of the Light Element mana flowing through his body, further strengthening his physical abilities. His speed and strength increased considerably, while the golden armor covering his body began glowing even brighter.
The pressure surrounding Steve also increased as more Light Element mana gathered around him.
In the next moment, Steve vanished from his position.
His movement was so fast that even Ravena’s eyes barely managed to follow him.
He reappeared directly in front of Ravena and thrust his spear toward her chest with tremendous force, aiming to pierce through her body before she could react.
Ravena reacted quickly.
The blood surrounding her body immediately moved and formed into the shape of a large scythe. She swung it toward the incoming spear and successfully blocked Steve’s attack just before it could reach her chest.
CLANG!
The spear and blood scythe collided, creating a powerful shockwave that spread throughout the surrounding area.
The impact forced the blood scythe backward slightly, but Ravena maintained her stance and continued resisting the force behind Steve’s attack.
Steve didn’t retreat.
He tightened his grip around his spear and increased the amount of Light Element mana flowing through it, trying to overpower Ravena’s blood manipulation.
Steve was winning the clash in terms of raw strength, and he was gradually beginning to overpower Ravena.
The blood scythe was slowly being pushed backward by the force behind his spear, and Ravena had to use more blood to reinforce it.
However, just as Steve was about to break through her defense, he suddenly sensed another presence behind him.
The phantom of Dominique had appeared directly behind him.
Steve immediately decided to retreat and dodge before the phantom could touch him.
But before he could move, Ravena manipulated the blood around his legs and quickly formed several bindings around them.
Steve immediately released Light Element mana and destroyed the blood bindings, but the brief delay was enough to affect his movement.
The phantom of Dominique was already within reach.
Before Steve could completely escape, the phantom’s hand touched his body.
The moment it made contact, Steve immediately felt something being pulled out of him.
His vitality was being absorbed.
Steve quickly retreated, putting several meters of distance between himself and the two demons.
Behind Ravena, the phantom of Dominique slowly changed back into her physical form. Dominique stood beside Ravena, looking calmly at Steve as if nothing unusual had happened.
Steve frowned as he looked at her.
The place where the phantom had touched him didn’t have any visible injury, but his body felt noticeably weaker than before.
He could feel that some of his vitality had been drained by Dominique’s ability.
It wasn’t enough to seriously weaken him yet, but Steve immediately understood that allowing her to touch him repeatedly would become a major problem.
Steve tightened his grip around his spear and muttered in annoyance,
"You demons are a bunch of annoying creatures."
Ravena simply smiled faintly again.
The smile was beautiful, almost enough to make someone lower their guard, but the only thing Steve felt whenever he saw that smile was anger.
She was simply mocking him.
Then Dominique, who was standing beside Ravena, suddenly cut open her own hand.
Blood immediately began flowing from the wound and moved toward Ravena like a thin stream.
Ravena absorbed the blood without hesitation.
As the blood entered her body, her pale skin gained more color, and the aura surrounding her became noticeably stronger. The strength she had lost during the earlier battle continued returning little by little.
Steve’s expression darkened as he watched them.
He couldn’t allow Ravena to recover any further.
If she continued absorbing Dominique’s blood, fighting her would only become more difficult.
And before Ravena could absorb any more blood, Steve moved again.
Steve fought without holding anything back.
He began using large-scale Light Element spells to attack both Dominique and Ravena. Even when the attacks failed to hit them directly, the enormous amount of Light Element mana still struck the surroundings, destroying parts of the walls and causing more cracks to spread through the already damaged structure.
