Mercenary’s War

Chapter 2511 - 2487: No Rush

The plane landed on the East Coast of the United States, whereas Alexander was in Colorado in the West, so Gao Yang was certainly going to land and stop in New York; he wouldn’t miss the chance to visit home.

Though he said he was on vacation, there were many things to attend to, but Gao Yang truly didn’t want to ruin the rare reunion moment.

He pressed the doorbell, and it was Yelena who opened the door. Upon realizing it was indeed Gao Yang standing there, Yelena immediately gave him a heartfelt hug.

Joseph stood to Gao Yang’s rear side. As Yelena and Gao Yang embraced with deep emotion, Joseph turned his back to the hugging pair, hands placed lightly on his abdomen.

While Gao Yang and Yelena hugged, he saw Glolov and Natalia sitting on the sofa through the open door.

Natalia stood up with a genuine smile, while Glolov remained seated on the sofa, only standing up casually after being nudged by Natalia.

Gently patting Yelena’s back twice, they both walked into the living room, with Joseph quietly following them, closing the door and standing quietly behind it.

Natalia called out to Joseph loudly, "Please sit down, feel free; no need to be restrained at home."

Joseph gave a slight bow and courteously replied, "Thank you, madam."

He nodded in greeting to Glolov before sitting down on a single sofa.

Glolov waved to Joseph and laughed, "Would you like something to drink?"

Gao Yang released Yelena from his grip and hugged Natalia, then smiled at her, "You look well."

Natalia smiled happily and pressed her waist, which appeared to have slimmed down, laughingly saying, "I go to the gym every day now, and I even hired a personal fitness trainer. It’s very expensive, costing 180 dollars per session, but I think it’s working well. What do you think?"

Gao Yang gave a thumbs up, earnestly praising, "No wonder, you look at least twenty years younger. Of course, the most important thing is health. I think hiring a personal trainer is essential, and the price is not expensive at all.

Natalia looked very pleased and, after making Gao Yang sit down, she cheerfully said, "Let’s not go out for lunch. Let’s eat at home."

Gao Yang naturally agreed readily, nodding and smiling, "Sure, oh, I have been craving roast beef, a lot of it; I’ve been missing it for a long time."

Natalia laughed, "No problem, I guarantee you’ll be well-fed."

They were completely like a family, very warm and relaxed. After Gao Yang casually sat beside Yelena, Glolov placed a cup of tea in front of Joseph and said to Gao Yang, "Did things go smoothly?"

Gao Yang nodded, "Very smoothly, plus an added bonus."

Glolov sat down next to Joseph, saying, "That’s great."

Gao Yang looked at Yelena beside him and spoke tenderly, "Has the class been intense the last couple of days?"

Yelena smiled gently and shook her head, "Not intense, I can leave at any time."

"Then come to Colorado with me for a couple of days. Someone invited me to test a new gun."

"Oh, of course!"

Glolov very casually said, "Oh, what kind of gun are you going to test?"

Gao Yang waved his hand, "Alexander has made a supposedly impressive rifle. He’s been asking me to try it for a long time. You want to go together? Just a trip."

Glolov shook his head repeatedly, "No, no, I’m not interested in traveling anymore, you two go with Yelena. I’ll just stay at home. Oh, Rabbit definitely wants to go."

"He wants to meet Lilia."

"But he’s definitely willing to delay those plans if you don’t invite him, he’ll definitely complain all over when we meet. I don’t want to hear his endless muttering."

"Alright, I’ll call him and ask him. Then we might as well invite Phoenix, she’ll definitely be interested too."

"When are you going?"

"Tomorrow. No need to rush."

The conversation was very casual, all within a very normal family atmosphere.

However, when Natalia started in the kitchen busying herself for lunch, and Yelena eagerly joined her to make something for her sweetheart, the conversation shifted to an abnormal one, one that couldn’t possibly happen in a regular household.

"Have the Angels been given?"

"Yes, we picked new artillery, Rebrov will be there waiting to take them to Yemen, and another thing, we got some missile troopers."

"Missile troopers? Why do we need missile troopers?"

"They might come in handy, or perhaps not. However, the price-performance ratio of these missile troopers is very high. I got them under the name of the KGB. The commission is very low, so even if someone talks nonsense, it’s Russia’s business. We don’t have to exert too much effort for confidentiality like we used to. By the way, the artillerymen were recruited in the same manner."

Glolov nodded and then said, "If the artillery is ready, we should return to Yemen as soon as possible. The situation is unstable, and we can’t leave for too long."

Gao Yang nodded and leaned back on the sofa, looking around the living room of Glolov’s house, and suddenly felt a bit absent-minded.

After pondering for a while, Gao Yang suddenly said, "Big Dog."

"Hmm?"

It’s a problem how Gao Yang addresses Glolov in front of Yelena and Natalia, but he certainly wouldn’t call Glolov Big Dog.

Gao Yang said a little absent-mindedly, "Once the Yemen matter is over, you should retire."

Glolov seemed a bit surprised, but he didn’t respond to Gao Yang’s comment.

"Do you feel like you’re lacking anything now? You have everything! You have money, Natalia, and Yelena. Don’t you think you should retire?"

Glolov said indifferently, "Why bring this up suddenly? And in my home."

Gao Yang took a breath, speaking softly, "One of us needs to be sure to stay safe. If you don’t want to retire, that’s fine. We’ve decided to transform after Yemen’s matter is over. So even if you’re not willing to retire after Yemen’s matter, that’s fine, as long as you no longer fight in wars."

Looking at Glolov, Gao Yang spoke very seriously, "The two of us have to ensure one of us will definitely be safe, not for anything else, but someone must continue taking care of Yelena, taking care of brothers who need it. This kind of thing, relying on oneself is better than relying on others."

The artillery led by Rebrov almost got wiped out by a cluster bomb; this matter touched Gao Yang profoundly. In battle, he didn’t think much about it, but at home, Gao Yang couldn’t help but contemplate the consequences of a complete loss.

Glolov remained calm and said, "Let’s discuss it later, when the Yemen matter is over. It’s not the time now, no rush."
