Both hands must be strong, but the intelligence is clearly more important. Even if Satan is prepared for a full-on assault, without intelligence, they don’t know where to attack.
Therefore, the focus is clearly on the Black Demon and Justin, who can provide intelligence.
Gao Yang believed the Black Demon would get the intelligence first because Tarta and his men were definitely trying to infiltrate the military hospital, perhaps they already did. However, unexpectedly, the first to deliver intelligence was Justin, the professional information vendor.
"I bribed a contact and obtained critical intelligence. Last night, a middle-aged white male was sent to the hospital. He was shot four times and hit on the head with a gunstock. He’s not dead yet, but his condition is extremely dangerous; he could die at any moment. The man’s fatal injuries are in the chest and abdomen. The bullets penetrated one person before hitting him, which prevented immediate death, but it’s still very perilous."
Gao Yang’s heart tightened suddenly, and he sharply asked, "Is the information reliable?"
"I can’t guarantee it’s 100% reliable. This is a contact temporarily bought by my man, a medical worker. So far, we cannot verify if this person is truly a medical worker or if the Saudi intends to spread false news through this person to achieve a baiting effect. You understand."
It is proven that money can easily solve many things. For example, information that Black Demon needs to infiltrate personally, Justin the intelligence vendor can acquire from thousands of miles away through remote control and bribery to get the urgent intelligence Gao Yang needs.
However, it is also proven that many things cannot be completely resolved with money. Like Gao Yang knowing Hammer is not dead yet, but he needs to have Black Demon personally investigate to confirm whether Hammer is dead or alive, and whether this is a trap.
"Okay, do you know where my people are? Their specific location, the security measures, and guard level."
"A surgery was performed in the emergency room of the Gulf Cooperation Council Allied Forces military hospital. He is now in the ICU, but the medical conditions in the military hospital are limited. Moreover, the ICU is on the second floor at the northwest end of the hospital, with less than ten guards, based on all the information we’ve gathered."
Gao Yang whispered, "Thank you, this intelligence is crucial."
Justin solemnly said, "One more important thing. Both the Saudis and Emiratis value this man highly. They may bring high-level doctors from elsewhere for a second surgery, but this is just the contact’s guess. I advise that before I clarify the contact’s credibility, or before you personally send someone to get key intelligence, do not act recklessly. Based on my experience, this could indeed be a trap."
"Thanks, please continue searching for detailed intelligence, stay in touch, goodbye."
After hanging up with Justin, Gao Yang pushed aside the gun and ammunition he had on the bed, creating space to lay out a map, and drew a red circle on a building with a red pencil.
Without a table, Gao Yang reviewed the map on the bed because his room contained nothing more than a bed.
"Joseph!"
Gao Yang called out, and Joseph promptly opened the door and entered.
The time was too tight, Gao Yang wished he could split himself in two, so he had to enlist Joseph’s help.
"Are you ready?"
"Yes."
Gao Yang exhaled deeply, quickly reciting the intelligence Justin provided, then said in a deep voice, "Help me pin both maps on the wall, and based on your professional protection experience, analyze the enemy’s guard force layout and establish an attack route. I’ll promptly inform you if there’s updated, detailed intelligence."
Joseph pinned up two maps, one of Aden and one satellite map of the military camp.
As Joseph scrutinized the maps, Gao Yang picked up the phone and walkie-talkie, then said in a deep voice, "You think it over; I’ll go make a few calls and report back your tactical ideas after."
Quickly exiting the room, Gao Yang saw no one around and immediately raised the walkie-talkie, "Earth calling Moon Base, respond if received, over."
Shortly, Tarta whispered, "Moon Base received, Earth please proceed, over."
"Probe vehicle one is alive, has completed first repair. Signal interference prevents confirmation; dispatch probe vehicle ten to factory for verification."
"Moon Base understands, probe vehicles two and three dispatched, no updates yet, please wait patiently, over."
Gao Yang was impatient, he whispered, "Earth understood, requested communications method change, inquiring whether convenient for your side, over."
"Convenient, over."
Gao Yang exhaled, grabbed the satellite phone, and short moments later, Tarta called him back.
"What’s going on? Where did the information come from? Is it reliable? Glewatov and Vasily infiltrated the military camp but cannot approach the hospital or get close to Hammer."
Gao Yang urgently said, "Intelligence from Justin, acquired by bribing a contact. I’ll detail the intelligence now, please note it down."
After Gao Yang detailed Justin’s intelligence, Tarta said in a deep voice, "This intelligence is highly valuable; the likelihood it is a trap is great, but worth the risk. I’ll notify them immediately."
Gao Yang whispered, "Keep it steady, you three must not act without orders. The others are en route for support, they will arrive soon. Maintain contact for now."
After hanging up, Gao Yang checked his watch, then picked up the walkie-talkie and switched to Satan’s internal comm frequency, "Is everyone ready? If ready, convene the operational briefing."
Satan is a small but fully equipped mercenary group, requiring a bit of time to change personnel’s roles for bolster assault with new weapons and gear.
To attack a military camp with thousands, Gao Yang felt immense pressure, and it seemed the hope for success wasn’t very high. Nonetheless, reaching this point, quitting halfway was impossible; having said cost is no limit, all means must be employed.
However, just after finishing his call with Tarta, mere minutes later, Tarta called again.
"Hammer is alive! Glewatov personally confirmed it!"
Hammer is still alive—a hoped-for miracle has appeared.
For a moment, Gao Yang was slightly dazed because confirming Hammer is alive means one thing: the rescue operation is no longer just planning and preparation, but is about to be implemented immediately.
