As the voice talked about his Shadow Monarch ability, Anthony simply replied.

"It’s just one of the abilities I was born with," his tone flat and composed.

The voice stayed silent for a moment, then spoke, "I see... I’m glad I got to witness it then." The voice paused for a moment, then added, "I suppose I should stop wasting your time. Null Anthony, Kaxrak will show you to the reward. You are the most impressive genius I’ve seen since my Lord created this realm," the voice stated. "It was nice witnessing your existence. I shall see you again at the Realm of the Dead," it stated in finality.

As the voice vanished, the sky returned to normal as though the voice was never there.

Anthony stayed silent. He understood what the voice meant by saying they would meet again in the Realm of the Dead. The voice simply meant that Anthony was destined to die one day. After all, even Eternal Apexes weren’t exactly immortal. While they could live for eons and ages, their lifespans stretching into a billion years or more, at the end of the day, there was an end to all beginnings and death to all life.

Simply put, the voice believed that Anthony too was destined to die one day.

But was Anthony bothered? Definitely not. He could never be bothered about immortality and stuff like that. He just wanted to have fun until he approached the end of his journey; that was all.

As Anthony was lost in thought, Kaxrak floated downwards from the sky, his wings guiding him down as he simply stared at Anthony with his slit eyes, while Anthony simply stared back at the man.

Kaxrak didn’t even know what to say. What he had witnessed since Anthony had stepped into this domain had left him shocked. The fact that Anthony possessed such deep comprehensions left him amazed and stupefied at the same time. After all, he had never witnessed anything like that.

And the fact that Anthony was outrageous enough to steal a subordinate of their Master was worldview-changing. He sighed and pushed up his glasses for a moment as a small smile appeared on his lips.

Not wasting any more time, he began to speak, "As stated by the Voice, I will be guiding you towards your reward," his tone calm as he didn’t speak on Anthony’s achievement. "Normally, I would just give it to you, but this one is quite special, and you have to pick it up yourself."

Anthony simply nodded and said nothing else. It didn’t matter if he had to pick it up himself or whether it was given to him.

Kaxrak, seeing Anthony nod, simply waved his hand, and a dark-blue portal tore open. Without a word, he stepped in. Anthony walked forward and also stepped into the portal, unbothered by what lay on the other side.

The moment Anthony appeared on the other side, an immense force slammed down upon him, forcing him to his knees. The Law of Time hummed around Anthony as he erased himself from that moment in time. His body seemed to glitch between two points in time as though he had become a phantom.

’An Eternal Apex?’ Anthony thought to himself as he rose to his feet and followed behind Kaxrak, who wasn’t affected.

They walked down what seemed to be a hallway made for royal families, as banners hung from the ceiling and down the walls, while a red carpet stretched forward endlessly. As they walked, Anthony could see various treasures scattered around across the carpet. If he was poor, he would have been tempted to pick up a few, but he didn’t even glance at them.

Soon, they arrived at a golden double door. Kaxrak simply pushed it open and walked in. The moment Anthony walked in, the pressure in the air intensified to an unimaginable degree.

It was now a room, one that matched the aesthetics he had seen outside. It was lavish, as various paintings hung on the walls, but Anthony ignored everything within the room as his eyes fell upon the bed. Upon the bed was a being that seemed to be lying fast asleep.

"Null Anthony, this is your reward for passing the Unknown Mode," Kaxrak began to speak. "The corpse of an Eternal Apex," he stated in finality.

Anthony stared at the corpse. It didn’t even look like any random corpse. He could still sense immense vitality from the body of this Eternal Apex, as though the being was still alive but was merely fast asleep. The body wasn’t pale or anything of the sort, with no physical indication that the man was dead. Besides, despite being dead, the Eternal Apex was still emitting a heavy presence.

Anthony’s sky-blue eyes shifted towards Kaxrak, who remained within the room, as though he wanted to know and see if Anthony would use the same ability he had used on Death Renderer on this Eternal Apex.

Anthony wasn’t worried that his ability wouldn’t work. The ability didn’t function based on power scaling or anything of the sort. He could use it against anyone, and it would work.

Anthony stretched out a palm as he spoke, "Awaken."

The next moment, an amount of Origin Essence that surpassed what he emitted back when he awakened Death Renderer erupted from his body, blasting everything within the room backwards. As the ability activated, the Eternal Apex’s Will flared as it rejected Anthony’s command and skill, unwilling to bow to anyone.

But Anthony’s expression didn’t change. His Origin Essence hummed with ever-greater intensity, and finally, the Eternal Apex’s Will gave way. A dark energy rose from the Eternal Apex’s body like tendrils, the tendrils twisting together until the Shadow Form of the Eternal Apex was formed.

Unlike Death Renderer, who immediately fell to his knees and bowed to Anthony, the Eternal Apex didn’t. He floated midair above his own corpse for a moment in a daze as he stared at his own body.

The Eternal Apex was of the Arachne race, although currently, he was in his human form. The Eternal Apex’s white eyes turned towards Kaxrak, who was standing at the side, as though recognizing a fellow Eternal Apex. Then his eyes shifted towards Anthony as he spoke.

"You are the one who brought me back in this form," he stated, his words a statement, not a question.

Anthony didn’t reply. He wasn’t worried the Arachne Eternal Apex would attack or anything of the sort. He knew every Shadow Soldier was loyal to him by default. The Eternal Apex acting out of script wasn’t exactly surprising; he was an Eternal Apex after all.

The Eternal Apex, seeing Anthony remain silent, sighed, then floated forward and landed with a deft touch.

"While I might be a slave now, it’s still better than being dead," the Eternal Apex stated, then bowed as he spoke, "Silent Annihilator bows to my liege," his tone respectful.

Anthony finally smiled as he spoke, "Welcome to the team, Silent Annihilator," he stated.

With the addition of an Eternal Apex, his shadow army had taken a huge leap in power. Why wouldn’t he be happy? This way, even if something unexpected happened, he could just deploy Silent Annihilator to handle it, while he sat back and enjoyed the show.
