Between the mountains of the Black Forest, streaks of white light suddenly flickered across the horizon.

Following the white light was an intense pressure, as if a god had descended in person to inspect His land.

At the mountain peak, Celia stood atop an exposed black rock. Her dark red eyes lifted slightly, gazing at the figure surrounded by holy light high in the sky.

Freya.

She looked down at Celia from above, her expression vacant and her divinity awe-inspiring.

The holy light framed her like a goddess descended to the world, making even the mountains tremble slightly beneath her feet.

Seeing the other woman's current display of power, the corner of Celia’s mouth slowly curled into a mocking arc.

“Heh... playing God, are we?”

The moment she locked onto Celia, a long-suppressed urgency surged from the depths of Freya’s golden eyes.

“Witch! What have you done to Lord Ansu?”

“What do you mean, what have I done to him?” Celia tilted her head, her tone lazy and malicious. “Ansu is fine—perfectly fine! In fact, just a moment ago, the two of us were...”

“Were what?” Freya’s brows furrowed tightly as she pressed for an answer.

“We were lying together~” Celia added with a beaming smile. “Falling asleep in a loving embrace, sleeping together, waking up together!”

Freya’s gaze instantly darkened, and a faint, almost imperceptible flicker of distortion crossed her beautiful face.

This witch!!

Still as vile as ever, still knowing exactly how to make her angry...

But she wouldn't fall for it. She knew Lord Ansu wouldn't do such a thing.

Lord Ansu was so level-headed; he must be full of caution right now, thinking only of escaping this witch’s clutches. How could he have the heart for romance?

Celia caught every bit of the emotion that flashed across the other's face, her smile widening. “What? You don't believe me?”

For a fleeting moment, she recalled the scenes of Ansu gently calling her “wife,” and a touch of softness immediately welled up in her eyes.

That smile wasn't a provocation; it was the composed look of a victor looking down upon the loser.

“I don't believe you, and there's no need for you to try and provoke me on purpose.” Freya quickly steadied her heart, her eyes returning to a cold, divine frost.

She had more important things to do.

“I am here to take him back. The North is still unsettled, and we all need him to preside over it. As for you—” Her tone became increasingly stern. “You are sabotaging our common cause.”

“How am I sabotaging anything?” Celia snorted coldly. “Without the support of my cult, do you think the Wolfgar tribe and the undead army would have been defeated so quickly?”

“That was because Lord Ansu and I fought side-by-side to shatter the enemy's conspiracy!” Freya shouted. “Release Ansu at once! You selfish, venomous witch, I won't allow you to harm my Lord Ansu!”

She knew the witch’s evil all too well; the woman was capable of anything!

With Lord Ansu in her hands, she might truly never see him again...

“I told you, he is safe.” Celia’s voice grew heavy. “He’s resting... he just fell asleep.”

She paused, as if suppressing an irritable mood.

“Hmph! Believe what you want.”

Freya didn't bother arguing with her any further. She knew communicating with this witch was futile.

Instead of wasting time quarreling, it was better to find Ansu as quickly as possible and take him away.

She narrowed her golden eyes, a strange luster appearing deep within her pupils. With the blessing of divinity, the surface of the world was peeled back like a thin veil, revealing the surging energy pathways beneath.

The flow of mana, the intertwining of elements... she could glimpse a sliver of the world's inner workings.

Finally, Freya’s gaze locked onto a hidden mountain hollow.

There, the surge of mana was most violent, and there was an extremely massive magic structure underground.

She understood: when Ansu and this witch had traveled to the underground ruins of the Eastern Wasteland, they had harvested a vast amount of treasure. They would certainly need a secret place to hide it. This must be their secret treasure vault.

This was likely the “treasure vault” Lord Ansu occasionally mentioned, or perhaps that “mysterious little black room” that made him uneasy...

Celia noticed the change in Freya’s expression. Seeing her lock onto the treasure vault’s location at a glance, a flash of surprise crossed Celia's eyes.

She narrowed her eyes, observing Freya seriously and carefully.

“Saint Tier?”

Freya let out a cold laugh. “A demigod!”

“Impossible.” Celia scoffed. “A demigod? Just you?”

But in the next second, her smile faded.

She could clearly feel the source of that massive power within Freya. It was God-Descent, but what was even more shocking was that the other woman was continuously releasing it.

This was unheard of.

She had clashed with many experts of the Church of Holy Light and knew the limitations of their strongest divine art:

It required holy relics and the combined efforts of multiple archbishops, and it was usually just a momentary burst.

But now, she...

Not only was she releasing it alone, but she was doing so continuously—like a god walking the earth.

Celia noticed even more strange details.

At this moment, Freya was in a bizarre state. Her skin was constantly tearing and cracking, as if it couldn't withstand the power rushing through her body, but the moment those wounds appeared, they quickly healed back to normal.

Cracking, healing, cracking, healing...

Like an endless cycle of “breaking from a cocoon,” eerie and startling, carrying a resolve that bordered on self-destruction.

“Heh...” Celia still snorted, but this time it wasn't a scoff of disdain. Instead, it held a touch of gravity. “To become a god, one needs to wield authority, even for a demigod. You... are nothing more than a puppet barely holding on by borrowing a god's power.”

Now, she was actually looking forward to clashing with her.

She would test this woman’s mettle.

Freya didn't care to listen to her provocations anymore. With a movement of her body, she immediately flew toward Ansu’s location.

She was as fast as a streak of light piercing the sky.

But in an instant, Celia blocked her path.

“You're not going anywhere!”

“You'll have to beat me before you're worthy of seeing Ansu~” A playful smile curled on Celia’s lips as violent mana surges filled the air.

Freya cast a cold glance and ignored her.

She had no time to entangle herself with this witch.

She moved again, attempting to bypass Celia.

But soon, Celia appeared again like a lingering ghost, like a wall that could never be circumvented.

“Oh, that’s right~” Celia suddenly remembered something and continued to taunt her with a smile. “I hypnotized him.”

Freya’s heart tightened, and she said coldly, “I knew you witch would use any means necessary! Lord Ansu hates being controlled the most!”

Celia paused, then pursed her lips. Pretending she hadn't heard, she continued to provoke her:

“While he was unconscious, he said many things about you, about your thoughts...”

“Do you want to hear it? Freya, every word he said came from the heart.”

Freya froze.

“Do you want to know? Want to know what he said?” Celia pressed closer, her tone full of mockery. “Want to know his true feelings for you?”

Freya suddenly covered her ears in irritation and veered in another direction.

Of course she wanted to know...

But until she rescued Lord Ansu and helped him escape, she wouldn't believe a single word this witch said!

Amidst the surging mana, Freya was once again blocked by Celia.

It was still that signature malicious smile... the corners of her lips slightly upturned, her dark red eyes full of mockery, as if challenging the limits of her patience.

“Enough!”

Freya’s accumulated rage finally exploded, and killing intent ignited in her golden eyes. “Since you insist on blocking me, then I’ll just kill you!”

In the next instant, a pure white holy light so brilliant it was blinding erupted from within her.

Celia’s pupils constricted suddenly.

Streaks of light converged, finally condensing into a Spear of Judgment that cleaved down from the heavens, thrusting toward her with a thunderous roar.

She could feel the power contained in this strike.

But instead of retreating, an excited smile curled on her lips.

“Who kills whom... remains to be seen.”

A colossal amount of terrifying mana surged frantically around her, shaking the earth and making the entire forest tremble in unison.

Saint Tier, 9th Circle magic.
