Everyone crowded into Loren's room and spent the night there.

They were all a bit uneasy about leaving Loren alone, so much so that when Loren woke up the next morning, he found a group of people surrounding him and staring.

"It's kind of awkward having you all watch me like this…"

Loren pushed Anna's face away from his and yawned.

"We're already near the Angler. Nami has notified the Merfolk Princess. She'll come find us later, and then we'll go deal with the Angler together."

"Merfolk Princess? Is she pretty?"

Naclis caught the key phrase and asked, pretending to be casual.

"As for her… she's actually quite pretty. Merfolk are never bad-looking, and she's a princess…"

Hearing this, Naclis instantly went on high alert. She leaned in close to Anna's ear and whispered:

Anna was completely stunned. She couldn't believe those words came out of Naclis's mouth. In the past, even when she was unhappy about other women getting close to Loren, she'd at most let out a huff. This time, she wanted to eat one alive…

Anna instinctively looked at Naclis's shadow. Just then, Reflection Naclis popped out and shook her head:

"This time it's not me. That's the real her. She might be going dark side, knowing the person she loves most could die…"

"Shut up."

Reflection Naclis had challenged the real Naclis before, but this time was different. When Naclis threatened her, Reflection Naclis actually felt a trace of fear.

This time, she didn't dare provoke her again. She obediently sank back into the shadow.

"Alright, let's go up on deck and eat. We'll wait for Melody… that's the Merfolk Princess."

"You two exchanged names already?"

As they walked up to the deck, Naclis followed closely behind Loren, pressing for more details.

"I know her name, but she doesn't know mine."

Naclis had a lot of questions today, and Loren noticed.

He figured Naclis was feeling insecure, knowing he might die. So Loren casually wrapped an arm around Naclis and stroked her hair.

Naclis reached out, hesitated in the air for a moment, and then finally hugged Loren back. The two of them looked extremely affectionate.

"!"

Anna, watching from the side, was visibly taken aback. She suddenly felt like Naclis was a stranger. When had she gotten so bold?

Anna felt a sense of crisis. She squeezed in next to Loren, pressing herself against him so hard that Loren got pushed off balance.

"Don't crowd me…"

Loren pushed Anna's head, nudging her back a bit.

While everyone was horsing around, they made it to the deck.

The sea around them was churning with rough waves, but the ghost ship remained perfectly steady. The surging undercurrents couldn't affect them at all; instead, they became a kind of unique scenery.

"Let's have barbecue today. We caught plenty of fish in the normal waters earlier."

"Great!"

Hearing they were having barbecue, Anna raised both hands in approval.

"Scarlett, remember to bring out the fishing rod too."

As Scarlett was pulling out the barbecue setup and ingredients one by one, Anna suddenly reminded her.

"What do you need a fishing rod for?"

"Just for fun. Thought I'd see what I can catch. If I hook a contaminated creature, I'll learn something new. Since we'll probably have to face them sooner or later, it's good to get familiar early."

"Fine."

Anna's reasoning was sound. Loren didn't argue and let her take the brand-new fishing rod to the edge of the ship.

But there was no bait on Anna's hook, and she hadn't even lowered it into the water.

"…"

Loren didn't correct her. He focused on grilling the meat. As long as she was happy.

The grill was huge, requiring both Mirrorheart and Loren to operate it. They could cook a lot at once. Only a grill this size could satisfy Anna's appetite.

"It's done. Time to eat."

The first batch of skewers was ready. Loren handed a few to each person and then shoved the rest at Anna.

This time, Anna didn't immediately start wolfing everything down. Instead, she first tore off a small piece of meat, hung it on the hook, and secured the fishing rod before coming back to eat.

"…"

This was the first time Anna hadn't been eager to eat. Loren found it increasingly strange.

But he didn't ask any more questions. He silently continued grilling skewers and took a bite of the one Naclis handed him—it was already half-eaten by her.

Laila quietly watched Naclis. She didn't feel much of a threat; it was just the child getting clingier.

The atmosphere was very harmonious. Just then, the fishing rod Anna had secured suddenly started shaking.

"Something bit!"

Anna shot to her feet. She looked around, finally chose to shove all the remaining food into her mouth at once, and grabbed the rod.

"Be careful. Don't get hurt."

Contaminated creatures were mostly just weird, with varying combat abilities. The vast majority were no match for a witch, and with Loren watching, he wasn't too worried.

"Got it."

Anna gripped the rod tightly and mumbled through a full mouth.

She planted one foot on the ship's edge, exerted force, and the next moment, she yanked something about the size of a person up onto the deck.

"Master Mentor! This isn't a contaminated creature. Let's grill it!"

Hearing Anna's words, Loren looked up and saw Anna carrying a big fish, tossing it down in front of him.

It was only after she was thrown down by Anna that Loren got a full look at her.

"Mel… Melody?"

The moment their eyes met, Loren felt incredibly awkward.

The hook was still caught on Melody's mouth, and tears were glistening at the corners of her eyes.

"Anna!"

Loren shouted angrily. He had no time to hit Anna. He dropped the skewer in his hand, pried open Melody's mouth, and saw that the hook hadn't pierced too deep.

Melody obediently opened her mouth. Loren carefully pulled out the hook. After confirming Melody was fine, he grabbed Anna and punched her on the head:

"I was wondering why you were willing to use barbecue meat as bait. Turns out you were fishing for merfolk! How many times have I told you? We don't eat sentient beings!"

While Loren was disciplining Anna, Melody kept staring intently at the grill. After Loren had finished scolding, Melody finally spoke:

"Um… can… can I have some barbecue?"

"…"

Loren looked at Melody speechlessly. She still had a wound on her mouth.

Earlier, through Nami, he had informed her that this was his ship. But even though she knew Loren was the one she'd been in contact with, she sure had a huge appetite and a big heart.

"Another gluttonous girl…"

Loren sighed helplessly, letting go of the hand gripping Anna's scruff, and muttered.

No wonder she bit the hook.
