"Where do we go next?"

After resolving the matters on the island, Loren and the others boarded the ghost ship and once again sailed across the vast sea.

Hearing Anna's question, Melody was the first to speak:

"I want to take you to the Merfolk's territory, but since you're humans, and I don't have much real authority either.

"Right now, the vast majority of Merfolk absolutely despise humans. There's nothing I can do about that, and taking you there would likely end badly..."

"I know. That's why I never planned to go."

There was no need to visit Merfolk territory, but Loren still wanted other things:

"But I need water magic. I hope you can find me a magic book."

No one in the entire world had a more complete collection of water magic than the Merfolk. They had basically never experienced a generational gap in knowledge, nor had they suppressed the development of magic.

"It might take a while, since the Merfolk's territory is in the deep sea..."

"No problem. Go ahead."

With a Merfolk's speed, a round trip wouldn't take that long anyway. Loren wasn't in a rush.

"Loren, we're not heading home, are we? Where are we going?"

Laila sensed that the direction they were traveling was wrong and asked.

It wasn't that she had a great sense of direction-she could simply sense the location of the mark she'd left, and right now, she was getting farther and farther away from home.

"We're going to the God of Light and Fire's territory to send Him a gift."

Loren was still simmering with rage. Even without mentioning the grudge over Naclis, he had already locked horns with the God of Light and Fire.

Everything had been going so smoothly. Loren had found the Dusk Crow and was ready to perform the ritual to kill the God of Light and Fire, but He just had to come and interfere.

Couldn't He just wait quietly for death?

What's more, the Dusk Crow had gone completely extinct because of this. Watching another species vanish firsthand, Loren had been holding in a burning rage.

Loren never bottled things up. He had to give the God of Light and Fire something massive.

"Since the God of Light and Fire has started moving, the other gods will probably make their moves too..."

The God of Light and Fire had eliminated threats to Himself in advance, preventing anyone from performing the Severance Ritual. That would make dealing with Him much more troublesome.

Loren wasn't sure if the other gods would follow suit. On one hand, the Severance Ritual was the most complex ritual in the world-even the Orthodox Gods most likely didn't know its contents, since there was only one Teacher.

Second, the Severance Ritual wasn't easy to perform. It caused a huge commotion and would almost certainly be detected by the Orthodox Gods before it was completed.

But the God of Light and Fire seemed to be an exception. He was extremely cautious and would eliminate all risks.

Loren even guessed that He didn't even know what the Severance Ritual targeting Him involved. He simply wanted to kill everything that could restrain Him.

But regardless of the reason, the God of Light and Fire had made an enemy of Loren.

Loren toyed with the Dusk Crow's feather in his hand, calculating something in his mind.

"Master Mentor, does this feather still have any use? Can it be made into a tool or accessory?"

Paqina suddenly interjected. The battle with the angel earlier had been far too high-level for her to contribute, so now she felt a bit guilty and wanted to help Loren in any way she could.

"It doesn't need processing. It can be used directly, but it can also be combined with another item to make a very powerful tool."

Loren held the feather and explained to Paqina.

"What item?"

Paqina felt like she might finally be useful. But when Loren said what the other item was, she immediately deflated:

"It's the feather of another mythical creature called the Dawn Magpie. Its abilities are the complete opposite of the Dusk Crow-it can dispel darkness, and it's the creature needed for the ritual to deal with the God of Night and Thunder.

"We'll definitely go looking for it later. There's no rush."

Right now, the biggest threat was the God of Light and Fire. Loren wasn't some villainous BOSS who would give Him time to develop.

The God of Light and Fire with two authorities was already difficult enough to deal with. If He gained a few more, it would only get worse.

But Loren chose to deal with the God of Light and Fire first not because of that, but because Naclis had a grudge against them.

"Movila, has the Bountiful Church made any moves?"

While waiting for Melody, Loren suddenly asked Movila about the Bountiful Church.

"They haven't done anything. They just sent a few people to talk with the Plague Church. I don't know the specifics either.

"And there's absolutely no reporting about you at all, as if nothing happened..."

"Normal. At this point, lying low is the best choice. News of my disappearance would likely cause chaos, and the Bountiful Church is cowardly. If I really died, they wouldn't care.

"What about other factions? Any developments?"

"The Chailros Family is desperately pressuring the Church, trying to force them to find you... or avenge you."

Logically, nobles, especially a powerful family like the Chailros, would never dare to oppose the Church. Being the Church's lapdog was the smartest choice.

But now the Chailros Family had Loren as their backing, and this situation was entirely justified.

Even if Loren really died, they were acting for the Bountiful Church. The Church couldn't do anything to them.

"William has been guarding the entrance to the Gedlan Kingdom these past few days, as if waiting for us to return..."

"That kid is that cooperative?"

William's cooperation even made Loren a bit emotional. Loren felt he should give him a little more incentive.

"There's one more thing. Noah built the airplane and completed the test flight, but it exploded in midair at the end..."

"Noah's progress is that fast?"

The airplane on the blueprints Loren provided wouldn't explode-at worst, it would catch fire. The explosion was from the self-destruct device Loren had inserted.

"As long as the self-destruct device is stabilized, the airplane can start selling.

"Perfect. I can give William another little bonus."

Loren had set priorities for Noah's tasks. The highest priority was manufacturing the accessory assembly line, while researching the zombie virus was something to do in his spare time.

Knowing Noah's personality, when Loren said "spare time," he would probably sacrifice his already limited sleep.

Noah had always strictly followed Loren's orders. Since he had started building the airplane, it meant the accessory assembly line was already finished.

Loren's arrangements were steadily progressing. The gods were gradually falling into the net he had carefully woven.

"I hope the Divine War comes slowly..."

Loren looked up at the blood-red moon in the sky. He still didn't have enough certainty. In Loren's eyes, anything less than one hundred percent was zero.
