Since he couldn’t see anything anyway, Loren simply closed his eyes and began sensing with his intuition.

Now that he had the goods in hand, there was no point for Loren to keep tangling with the guards here.

So Loren lit the explosives strapped to his waist.

No matter what, Loren always carried a bundle of explosives at his waist. Even though his strength had been steadily increasing and his magic now surpassed most firearms, he had kept this habit.

He had even developed explosives with far greater power. Loren’s reasoning made sense: magic falls into different series and is easier to trace, but explosives are something anyone can use.

The instant the explosives ignited, Loren activated Void-walking. The explosives fell off his body and hit the ground.

When the guards arrived, all they saw were the explosives, and the warehouse was blown sky-high along with them.

“The guards have Sun-Chasers…”

After creating some distance, Loren deactivated Void-walking. He casually observed the current state of the church: the warehouse had been blown away, its contents strewn everywhere, and the Sun-Chaser had half his body blasted off.

The valuables scattered from the warehouse lay everywhere, but no one moved to pick them up. They knew that even if they did, there would be no way to sell them.

“I suddenly realized I might be the freest person in this world.”

Loren left the scene openly. He lowered the rim of his hood, a Tarot card pinched between his fingers.

The card showed a tilted high tower, bones heaped at its base.

Loren rubbed his fingers and the Tarot card split open, revealing three more card faces: World, Hermit, and Justice.

With these cards, there was nowhere Loren could not go.

The Church of Light and Fire had the tightest security, yet Loren had brazenly stolen from them.

He sheathed those four cards and then took out the Sun Card, staring at the figure facing away from the light on its face.

“Hey, buddy, do you know what happened over there?”

Loren casually stopped a passerby and asked.

“I…I don’t know…”

The passerby panicked a little when questioned. He wasn’t informed, but the explosion left little doubt that something terrible had occurred.

In the Holy Flame Empire, there was only victory and never defeat; the Church and the Orthodox Gods were flawless.

“Is that so? I actually know a little rumor.

“I heard an angel was killed, right in front of many people.

“I heard its head fell to the ground, its eyes started rotting, and then the whole thing turned into an indescribable abomination.

“There was a Sun-Chaser who went to investigate, and he died on the spot! My god… you can’t even imagine how miserable his death was…”

Under the Sun Card’s influence, the passerby didn’t leave. Instead, he listened earnestly to Loren, then even began to ask back:

“And then? Did they get rid of that thing?”

Loren pretended to be frightened, shivering a little.

“Of course not! It’s still there, nobody knows what to do with it!

“The angel died, in the Holy Flame Empire, right in front of everyone!

“The explosion just now was in the direction of the church, the church might have been blown up!”

Loren raised his voice. Many passersby subconsciously gathered around him to listen.

“If the Church can’t even protect angels, how can we ordinary people survive?

“And who knows, maybe it was someone inside the Church who did it. Otherwise, how could such crucial things go wrong…”

After saying that, Loren left.

Those people would go check to confirm Loren’s words, and afterward they'd be even more convinced of what he had said.

Under the Sun Card’s influence, they were more inclined to believe Loren and would instinctively spread the information.

The God of Light and Fire can only monitor, not eavesdrop, unlike the God of Vows and Wind.

So even if people spread rumors, they were unlikely to be discovered immediately.

By the time the Church began to clamp down, the rumors would already have spread to a significant degree.

Loren understood clearly that the Church would use forceful means to suppress the rumors, but by then Loren’s objective would already have been achieved.

After all, Loren did not truly aim for the rumors to spread everywhere. He only wanted people to grow fearful, to strengthen the God of Fear, and to cause more trouble for the God of Light and Fire.

If the rumors were forcefully suppressed, it would stop their spread but would also make people even more terrified.

Loren headed toward the dessert shop, casually spreading a few rumors along the way.

He was not worried the rumors wouldn’t travel—people knew the danger of spreading rumors, but under the Sun Card’s influence they would disseminate them instinctively.

By the time Loren finished shopping and walked back, he already saw people discussing the incident.

It wouldn’t be long before the story spread further, especially once those who had witnessed the angel’s death and those who had witnessed the church explosion ran into each other.

“I’m back.”

When he returned home, Loren’s hands were full of items—specialties he had bought from the Holy Flame Empire.

“Welcome home!”

Anna rushed over and gave Loren a big hug, then started rummaging through the things he had brought back.

“What’s this?”

Anna picked up a metal cylinder and stared at it for a long time without recognizing it.

“This is a can from the Holy Flame Empire.”

“A can?”

Even when Loren explained, Anna couldn’t associate this object with a can. She had eaten canned food back in the Uridia Kingdom, and it definitely didn’t look like this.

It was a pure metal cylinder with no seams.

“This is a can, just made with a different process.”

Loren used Blood Moon Condensed Light to slice the can open and revealed the meat inside. It resembled spam, but it looked terrible and was charred.

“They don’t have industrial development here, but they do have fire magic that can smelt iron.

“The method to make this can is to wrap seasoned meat in a special material, then pour molten metal over it.

“When the metal solidifies, the contents inside will be mostly cooked…”

Loren had bought it out of curiosity. He sniffed it and then tossed it aside.

“The Holy Flame Empire doesn’t have tasty food; their meals are utilitarian, many prepared for the battlefield.

“Like this can—just cut it open with a knife and it’s edible.”

While Loren and the others chatted idly, screams rang out outside.

Loren knew this was the Church handling the rumors. There was nothing more effective than killing a few people to make a point.
