Loren didn't want a single god to be defeated—he wanted mutual destruction.

So that required balancing combat power. Loren would tell the Church of Plague and the Church of Pain how to deal with the God of Bountiful Harvest, and he would also tell the Bountiful Church how to deal with Pain and Plague.

Through this method, the Church of Pain and the Church of Plague would naturally be bound together to confront the powerful Bountiful God.

As for how to pass on this information, Loren simply needed to go find a king.

After that, Loren would pit the God of Night and Thunder against the God of Vows and Wind in opposition.

Finally, there was the God of Light and Fire, who was the most powerful and would require the other three gods to join forces. Loren wouldn't even tell the Church of Light and Fire about the Severance Ritual.

After tentatively setting his plan, Loren returned to the witches. As for how to relay this information to the churches, that was the King of Bardo's problem.

He could easily claim that his approach to Loren was solely to obtain this information, and now that he had what he wanted, it was time to cut ties with Loren.

"Let's keep moving."

The crystal balls used to detect witches had a range limit, so as long as Loren flew high enough, they couldn't be detected.

So Loren wanted to snatch a crystal ball to specifically test the maximum detection range.

Soon enough, Loren's opportunity came.

Loren flew through the sky with everyone and quickly reached the edge of the Bardo Kingdom. That was when Loren heard shouting from below:

"A witch has been discovered here! Requesting reinforcements!"

A church member holding a crystal ball approached a mother and daughter. The crystal ball in his hand instantly shifted, undoubtedly indicating the presence of a witch.

"Surround this area! Don't let anyone escape!"

The church moved swiftly when it came to witches, quickly surrounding the area. Even those who had hidden inside houses were dragged out one by one and forced to stand in a row.

"We're not witches!"

The mother of the mother-daughter pair instinctively shielded her daughter and began to explain.

"The instrument doesn't make mistakes. We won't wrong anyone, and we understand that witches might hide among you without your knowledge. So even if there's a witch beside you, as long as you don't harbor them, we won't pursue it."

"Now, we'll check one by one. Everyone, stand still."

The church member wore an air of righteousness, as if the church's laws were truly enlightened.

But witches themselves had committed no sin—they merely threatened the Orthodox Gods.

Then, the church member pulled out a small crystal ball and approached them.

"Master Mentor..."

Paqina watched the scene below, growing anxious.

"I know."

Loren suddenly accelerated and placed the group of witches on a tall building, where they couldn't be detected.

Then, Loren appeared beside the church member. By now, the man had placed the small crystal ball next to a man, and the crystal ball showed no change.

"You're not a witch. You can go."

"Yes..."

The man wanted to ask how a man could possibly be a witch, but ultimately, he didn't speak.

The church was very sensitive about such matters; saying one more word could spell trouble.

"Next."

The church member placed the crystal ball beside another person. Still no change. But the larger crystal ball inside remained in chaos.

"Next."

He continued to the next person. The previous one sighed with relief and quickly left the area.

These crystal balls were easy to replicate. If someone wanted to kill a person, they could use a fake crystal ball to trigger a reaction, pin the label of "witch" on someone, and have them executed.

Loren remembered that many such cases had occurred. Far more fake witches died than real ones.

Church members were human too—they had people they disliked, even enemies.

Normally, they might not be able to do anything to these people, but this was different.

As the number of people being checked dwindled, the mother wasn't particularly nervous. After all, she knew she wasn't a witch.

She held her daughter's hand. Her child looked to be around five or six years old.

The child looked at her mother with confusion, not understanding what was happening.

Finally, the crystal ball was placed beside the mother. Still no reaction. She let out a sigh of relief and looked at her daughter. But just then, the crystal ball reacted—the notes inside began to run wild, moving chaotically.

"It seems your daughter is a witch. We'll need to take her away. We hope you won't interfere."

The church member, putting on a polite demeanor, gestured to the others, planning to take the little girl away.

But then, the mother suddenly grabbed her daughter.

"If you defy the church—"

Before he could finish, he saw the mother seize her daughter's throat and lift the little girl into the air with sheer force:

"Why are you a witch! I've been raising a witch all this time!"

Luna, watching from the rooftop, remained silent.

"Alright, let go. The witch will be publicly executed."

The church member didn't know whether the mother was truly firm in her faith or simply trying to protect herself. Either way, it didn't matter.

As long as she showed loyalty to the church, that was enough.

For the vast majority of people in this world, faith outweighed everything—including family and love.

Especially for the lower class. They had nothing but their faith.

Hearing his words, the mother released her grip. Her child had already fainted, with handprints still visible on her neck. She had shown no restraint at all.

What happened to Luna wasn't an isolated case—it was common. Naclis's mother, who placed family above faith, was the rare exception.

"Hand the witch over to me."

Loren stood behind the church member and suddenly tapped his shoulder.

"Who are you?"

The man immediately went on alert, putting distance between himself and Loren.

"It's me, Loren. Your Master Mentor."

Loren pulled down his hood and introduced himself. Then he bent down and picked up the little girl.

"All witches belong to me. If anyone dares to harm a witch, they will face me in an endless, mortal struggle."

Loren raised his head and looked at the church member. His crimson eyes sent a chill straight through the man's heart.

"This is Loren, the church's top wanted criminal! Attack him now!"

The church member shouted, but the other church members ignored him.

The next moment, their heads fell off one by one. Blood spurted from their severed necks like fountains, spraying everywhere.

Only then did their bodies realize they were dead, collapsing one after another.

He hadn't even seen Loren move.
