Monsters Die When Killed

Chapter 476: Volume Finale: The Name Passed Down in Song

No! It wasn’t *as if* the blade had cut open space—it *had*. Using the Blade of Annihilation as a medium, Su Zhou opened his Personal Space. It was as if he had used the blade to rip a tear in space.

Visible inside Su Zhou’s newly created Personal Space was black earth and a babbling stream. Bright flames and gales flashed in the sky.

Elias and the Wind God had both bestowed their Blessings upon this small Personal Space, allowing the newly created world to possess the Four Great Elements and a basic ecosystem from the very beginning.

’In an environment like this, even the Wisdom Tree probably wouldn’t be too critical.’

Satisfied, Su Zhou returned the Blade of Annihilation—which had been roughly reforged by the blacksmiths of Naisel City—to his Personal Space and nodded at Elias with a smile.

"Before I leave, I will give you one last gift."

As he spoke, Su Zhou pulled out a notebook. It was a cultivation journal, written in the local language of Naisel City using the simplest and most direct terms.

"Five Spirits Colored Scales. I’m leaving the cultivation method for this Spiritual Power Organ with you. It’s incredibly difficult to master. Anyone without sufficient Talent who tries to cultivate it recklessly will only throw the Elements in their body out of balance. But I believe that, eventually, someone will be able to master it."

With that, the young man flashed a casual smile. "If, one day, this world faces the End again, then whoever manages to cultivate this organ might just be able to repair the world’s core. Even if we’re still stuck in the cycle of Reincarnation, we must try to live in the best, most blissful cycle possible, not settle for some inferior version of happiness."

"...I understand."

Elias nodded slowly, taking the cultivation journal from Su Zhou’s hand.

Then, Su Zhou smiled and waved to the boy before turning to walk toward the summit of the high mountain at the center of the world.

But a few minutes later, unable to stop himself, Elias chased after him, wanting to say one last goodbye. To his disappointment, he found the summit empty.

He was already gone.

「After that.」

In the center of the former Naisel City, enormous statues of a Dragon and a God were erected.

One depicted a young man standing with his hands clasped behind his back, his expression natural. The other was of a majestic, powerfully built, wingless Great Dragon.

On the day the divine statues were raised, the boy, now honored as the Master of Humans, gazed up at them. Amid the cheers of the surrounding people, he made a silent vow in his heart.

’Mr. Su.’

’When you return, you will surely hear this entire world singing your name.’

「Back in the Earth World.」

May 20, 2016.

When Su Zhou returned to the Earth World, back in the Shao Family’s Old Mansion, he didn’t notice anything amiss at first. But soon, the scenery—so completely different from when he’d left—put him on high alert.

’Something’s wrong. I left in late February 2016! Hongcheng doesn’t get snow, sure, but it shouldn’t be this hot!’

With that thought, Su Zhou headed for the living room of the old mansion, intending to grab his phone and check the time.

But in his haste, he ran right into Shao Qiming, who had heard the sound and was coming out to investigate.

"Azhou?!"

Su Zhou managed to stop himself from actually running into him, but Shao Qiming, not expecting someone to appear out of thin air, was startled. The moment he saw it was Su Zhou, however, his surprise turned to excitement. "Where have you been for the last three months?! Everyone’s been worried sick! Oh, and did you know? Some famous Cultivators overseas have been secretly putting out challenges for you..."

Shao Qiming spoke loudly, but at the same time, he covertly made a few hand signals to Su Zhou. He knew Su Zhou had been on an adventure in an Otherworld and was careful not to reveal it. For some reason, however, he had to announce this news loudly.

Su Zhou instantly understood the hidden meaning. Without a word, he looked toward the entrance of the Shao Family’s Old Mansion.

From there, he could feel the unmistakable fluctuation of the Extraordinary Tier.

Soon, the door opened, and an elderly man with a ruddy complexion and black hair strode into the room. Being in Ouchen, he of course politely took off his shoes and changed into a pair of slippers.

The Daoist Saint, Zhang Qingyun, opened the door.

And then, he saw Su Zhou.

"Professor Su?!"

Immediately, the Saint drew in a sharp breath. "You kid, where on earth have you been?! To cover up your disappearance, we even sealed off the Kunlun Secret Realm for a time, telling everyone you were in secluded cultivation... but even that excuse couldn’t hold for long."

At this, the old man couldn’t help but let out a long sigh. "It’s a good thing you’re back now... That makes everything much easier to resolve."

The Daoist Saint didn’t immediately pressure Su Zhou by asking where he’d been. He just briefly explained the current state of affairs so Su Zhou could get a general sense of how the situation had changed during his absence.

’But Su Zhou knew he had to give them an explanation. If not now, then later. It was unavoidable.’

So, Su Zhou scratched his head, pondering for a moment. "Er... It’s a long story."

After considering a few excuses, the young man frowned and decided to drop the idea. Su Zhou shrugged and said, "I don’t know, have you guys ever heard of traveling to an Otherworld?"
