Monsters Die When Killed

Chapter 544 - 26: Choose to Believe in Hope

"Of course, I don’t think he needs reinforcements."

Most of the personnel from other nations were skeptical. It wasn’t that they didn’t believe in Su Zhou’s power, but he was currently alone, deep in the heart of the Beast God Realm. He might have the upper hand for a short while, but in a prolonged battle, even someone like Su Zhou would surely get tired!

’Does that guy really not need reinforcements?’

And though he said that, the Daoist Saint immediately summoned his men to set up the array device that could connect to the camera. The device was originally designed for forward recon teams to transmit live footage back to the rear, so there was already one ready to use.

"Su Zhou may have the strength of the Commander Tier, which should theoretically be enough to ensure his safety in the Beast God Realm, but he only officially became a Commander less than a month ago..."

Even as he chatted idly with the Life Saint, recounting the journey’s events and what he’d seen, the Daoist Saint’s heart remained filled with anxiety. "And the Divine Beasts of the Beast God Realm can likely use the residual Spiritual Qi Organs of their Primordial Ancestors to temporarily wield Commander Tier power. What’s more, their use of their ancestors’ Lifebound Divine Techniques might be even more masterful than Su Zhou’s use of his own Divine Techniques... After all, it’s a memory etched into their bloodline."

Zhengguo’s Mimic Dao had similar legacies. The Bai Family, for instance, enshrined the mortal remains of four predecessors who had cultivated the Western White Tiger True Body. But to be honest, in Zhengguo’s cultural sphere... no, in modern human culture in general, such things were meant to be venerated, not used. Unless it was a matter of life and death, who would fight using their ancestors’ corpses?

But Divine Beasts were beasts, after all, not humans. They naturally wouldn’t have such qualms. And when it came to combat experience, they might even be superior to Su Zhou.

Filled with such worries, the Daoist Saint activated the device.

The camera connected.

But all anyone present could see was a blazing white pillar of light that filled more than half the screen, sweeping across the sky.

Through the gaps in the dissipating specks of Spiritual Light, they could vaguely make out something in the distance. Amidst a sky full of continuous explosions, dense black dots—suspected to be a Spirit Beast squadron—were plummeting from the sky in droves.

"?"

For a moment, the Daoist Saint, whose eyes were dazzled by the white light, couldn’t see the screen clearly. He frowned instinctively and asked, "What’s going on?"

And in the next instant, everyone—the Life Saint, the fortress staff, and the Cultivators from all over the world—saw it.

A massive, sturdy, and powerful dragon claw swept past the camera.

The dragon claw was covered in sleek, aesthetically pleasing pale-white scales. Its talons were so sharp that simply gazing upon them created the illusion of being torn apart. Beneath their covering, slowly flexing muscles pulsed with a sense of immense power, as if hailing from the Barbaric Wilderness of primordial times.

This was a dragon’s arm, and a tremendously powerful one at that!

Then, with incredible control, the dragon claw used its incomparably sharp talons to gently move the camera to a new spot, seemingly tucking it between transparent scales.

Strangely, tucked within these transparent scales was a small grain of wheat... ’Why would a grain of wheat be there?’

But at that moment, no one had time to ponder this question.

Because, at this very moment, four incomparably brilliant beams of Spiritual Light, representing the Venerable Beast Kings of the Beast God Realm, were hurtling toward the camera’s position from the distance.
