Finn Chandler looked at the thick wad of cash, feeling even more puzzled.
"You have money now?"
Given Mr. Chambers’ extravagant ways, and the fact that Old Master Chambers cut off his finances, Finn Chandler figured he wouldn’t have much left.
"Of course I do."
Mr. Chambers replied with a smile.
In truth, not much was left, but his daughter had given birth, so of course, he’d prepare a red envelope.
"When are you getting married?" Finn Chandler thought about the last time at The Ford Family, when Mrs. Chambers brought a young lover, whom she didn’t see now; was he restricted downstairs, or?
"We broke up."
Mr. Chambers said indifferently, "She ran off with some pretty boy."
