"Jynx, use your psychic power to whisk the Chansey egg yolks, then slowly pour them into the heated Moomoo Milk."

Jynx glanced at Lorelei first. After receiving a nod from its Trainer, it raised both hands, and a psychic glow instantly enveloped the ingredients.

Under the control of Psychic, the egg yolks began spinning rapidly.

"Finish it with Powder Snow. Freeze the mixture quickly at a low temperature."

Jynx waved its hands, releasing a gentle flurry of icy snow that wrapped around the bowl. The temperature plunged at an astonishing rate.

In moments, a bowl of rich, creamy Moomoo Milk ice cream was complete.

Haruto took a small spoonful and tasted it. His eyes brightened, and he nodded in approval.

It was not quite as good as ice cream he made entirely by hand, but the texture was exceptionally smooth and even, without the slightest trace of graininess.

It was already an impressive result.

Haruto looked at Jynx and praised it without reservation.

"That was excellent, Jynx. You have real talent for cooking!"

The recipe itself was not particularly complicated, and Haruto had guided it through every step.

Even so, producing ice cream of this quality proved that Jynx possessed extraordinary control over its psychic abilities and a natural aptitude for cooking.

"Jynx!"

Delighted by the praise, Jynx’s eyes curved into crescents. It spun happily in place, then waved at Lorelei as though proudly showing off its accomplishment.

Lorelei took a spoonful herself.

The cool dairy fragrance melted across her tongue, with just the right amount of sweetness and a wonderfully silky texture.

Surprise appeared on her face.

She had never imagined that Jynx possessed such talent in the kitchen.

An idea quickly took shape in her mind.

She could have Jynx learn cooking from Haruto.

Naturally, Lorelei would never admit that she simply wanted access to delicious food in the future.

She merely refused to let Jynx’s culinary talent go to waste. As its Trainer, she had a responsibility to nurture its potential.

Lorelei first asked Jynx whether it wanted to learn. After confirming that the Pokémon was genuinely interested, she turned to Haruto.

"Haruto, Jynx seems to enjoy cooking and clearly has talent for it. Would you be willing to teach it a few things? I can compensate you appropriately."

Haruto considered the request briefly before agreeing, though he declined any payment.

This was also an excellent opportunity to test how useful Psychic-type Pokémon could be in the kitchen.

If the results proved promising, raising a Psychic-type Pokémon specifically to assist with cooking would be worthwhile.

His ideal choice would not be Jynx, however.

Among all Psychic types, Gardevoir was naturally his first choice.

Once they had reached an agreement, Haruto guided Jynx through several more small desserts. Every one of them turned out quite well.

Three days passed after Lorelei’s arrival at Professor Oak’s laboratory.

During that time, she brought Haruto a considerable number of Pokémon and traded them for another thirty kernels of BB Corn.

Professor Oak, meanwhile, had remained inside the laboratory, tirelessly analyzing data with almost no sleep.

That afternoon, he finally emerged.

Haruto and Lorelei hurried over as soon as they received the news.

When they found him, Professor Oak looked almost unnaturally excited.

Lorelei immediately asked,

"Professor Oak, what were the results? How effective is BB Corn on Pokémon?"

If its performance far exceeded expectations, the Pokémon League would have to acquire as much as possible, regardless of the cost.

If its effects were only moderate, a limited supply would be sufficient.

Professor Oak drew a deep breath, struggling to contain his excitement.

"Effective? It isn’t merely effective—it’s extraordinary! The results far exceeded anything I anticipated!"

He slapped a thick research report onto the table and pointed at the densely packed data as he launched into an enthusiastic explanation.

"The basic Pokéblocks I produced using BB Corn were more than five times as effective as the finest premium Pokéblocks currently available to the League!"

"And that was only a hastily assembled formula. It came nowhere close to unlocking BB Corn’s full potential!"

"Once the proportions are optimized, the results will become even more remarkable!"

"It doesn’t merely accelerate a Pokémon’s development. It gently improves innate potential and strengthens the body’s fundamental physical parameters!"

"The effects on young Pokémon are especially immediate, and there are absolutely no adverse side effects!"

"According to the data—"

Professor Oak continued without pause, reciting strings of figures and specialized terminology.

Haruto listened with a blank expression.

It might as well have been an unknown language.

Lorelei understood slightly more, but even she soon looked thoroughly confused.

Professor Oak noticed their expressions and realized that raw data alone could not properly demonstrate the results.

He took out two Poké Balls and tossed them forward.

Red light flashed, and two Pokémon appeared on the floor.

One was a Caterpie, slowly wriggling its body.

Beside it stood a Metapod that had already evolved, its hardened shell glossy and firm.

Haruto and Lorelei exchanged puzzled looks.

They were two of the most ordinary Bug-type Pokémon imaginable.

Both turned toward Professor Oak and waited for an explanation.

He pointed to them solemnly.

"This Caterpie and Metapod hatched at almost exactly the same time three days ago. Their initial physical parameters were nearly identical, and there was almost no difference in their natural potential."

"However, the one that evolved into Metapod was fed Pokéblocks containing BB Corn throughout those three days."

"The Caterpie beside it received only standard Pokéblocks."

"The difference is plain to see. In the same amount of time, the one fed BB Corn has already evolved into Metapod. Its rate of development increased severalfold!"

"More importantly, this Metapod’s current physical parameters already exceed the normal upper limit for its species!"

"Accelerated growth without sacrificing potential—and a comprehensive improvement to its underlying physique."

Lorelei studied the two Pokémon, and her pupils contracted sharply.

Such a direct comparison was impossible to misunderstand.

Caterpie did evolve relatively quickly, but hatching and reaching the Metapod stage within only three days was still absurdly fast.

More importantly, its potential had not been exhausted in exchange for that speed.

It had actually become stronger.

That meant BB Corn was not forcing premature growth. It was nourishing and improving the Pokémon from the foundation upward.

To any Trainer, such a resource was practically priceless.

Lorelei’s gaze toward Haruto changed completely.

The private agreement she had made with him now seemed like the bargain of a lifetime.

Once BB Corn’s remarkable effectiveness had been confirmed, Lorelei formally began negotiating with Haruto on behalf of the Pokémon League.

The basic rate remained one kernel of BB Corn for one starter Pokémon or another Pokémon of equivalent value.

Haruto knew perfectly well that BB Corn’s uniqueness would allow him to demand an even higher price. The League would likely grit its teeth and accept rather than lose access to such a strategic resource.

However, Haruto was not interested in making a single profitable exchange and walking away.

He wanted a stable, long-term partnership with the Pokémon League.

An excessively harsh price would only damage future cooperation.

The current rate still offered Haruto excellent value while remaining within the League’s ability to accept.

Since he was offering reasonable terms, however, Haruto naturally had several additional conditions.

"We can use that as the standard exchange rate, but I have a few extra requests that I want the League to fulfill."

He raised one finger as he looked at Lorelei.

"First, I want at least one young pseudo-Legendary Pokémon."

Every pseudo-Legendary was extraordinarily rare and coveted by countless Trainers.

Even with the League’s vast resources, their young were considered precious strategic assets.

Naturally, Haruto wanted one of his own.

He raised a second finger.

"Second, I want a Ralts with exceptional talent and potential."

Haruto intended to raise its final evolution, Gardevoir, as his culinary assistant. Naturally, he wanted one with excellent aptitude.

"Third, I need Gardevoirite and Charizardite, as well as Z-Crystals, a Dynamax Band, and a Tera Orb."

Gardevoirite and Charizardite would allow Gardevoir and Charizard to Mega Evolve.

Z-Crystals enabled Z-Moves, while the Dynamax Band and Tera Orb corresponded to Galar’s Dynamax phenomenon and Paldea’s Terastallization.

Every one of them was an exceptionally valuable and rare item.

Lorelei did not respond immediately.

Instead, she contacted Pokémon League headquarters and relayed Haruto’s demands word for word.

After a brief round of internal discussion, the League reached a decision.

Lorelei ended the call and returned to her seat.

"League headquarters has agreed to all of your additional conditions."

"However, there are two details you need to understand in advance."

"A Dynamax Band can only function at specific locations in the Galar region where Dynamax energy is present."

"Likewise, the Tera Orb’s Terastallization energy can only be activated within the Paldea region. Outside those regions, neither item will function."

Haruto was not surprised.

He had requested the Mega Stones, Z-Crystals, Dynamax Band, and Tera Orb primarily as collectibles.

Whether he could actually use all of them was not especially important.

Still, given the opportunity, he certainly intended to study them.
