My All Powerful System

Chapter 108: The Gathering Storm

Lynx turned his heterochromatic eyes toward the two injured combatants pretending they weren’t across from him. "Speaking of working hard... what are you two doing out of the infirmary?"

Kira scoffed, crossing her arms over her chest and wincing slightly at the movement. Her deep orange eyes flashed with stubborn pride. "I hate that place. It smells like sick people. I’m fine."

Emily leaned back against her chair, her posture regal despite the faint paleness of her skin. "Only weak people spend their afternoon rotting in an infirmary bed. I can recover on my own terms."

Kira glanced at Emily, nodding in rare silent agreement. "Yeah. What she said. We’re fine Lynx."

Lynx didn’t just take their word for it. He activated his Primordial Vision, scanning their vitals.

[Kira Lewis - HP: 3,000/6,000

MP: 1000/8000]

[Emily Watson - HP: 1,500/5,500

MP: 600/7500]

Their physical reserves were depleted, and their internal mana channels were still recovering from heavy strain. They were putting on a brave face, but they needed actual rest.

Lynx’s eyes softened, a firm yet warm authority entering his voice. "Right. ’Fine.’ Emily, your mana reserves are practically in the gutter, and Kira, you’re running on half your health. You two are going straight back to your rooms after we finish eating, and you’re going to sleep."

Kira frowned, opening her mouth to protest. "Lynx, I told you, I don’t want to..."

"I didn’t say you were going alone," Lynx interrupted smoothly, leaning back and resting his arm over the back of his chair, his smirk returning. "I’ll be right there in the room with you while you rest. Making sure you actually ’rest’."

Kira’s stubborn expression froze, a dark, dusty blush instantly creeping up her neck to her cheeks. She looked away quickly, muttering something under her breath about him being overbearing, but she didn’t argue further.

Emily’s lips twitched upward into a small, pleased smile, silently conceding to the arrangement.

Lira, sitting right beside Lynx, leaned in slightly, her meek, melodious voice breaking the warm silence.

"Um... Lynx? Have you seen the new announcement on the academy news channel online yet?"

Lynx turned to her, raising an eyebrow.

"Announcement? No, I’ve been a little...occupied. What announcement?"

Eira chuckled, shaking her head as she took a sip of her juice. "Are you even a student at this academy Lynx? Or do you just show up to beat up professors and look handsome?"

"Hey, don’t tease him," Lira said softly, though a cute little giggle escaped her lips before she continued.

"The Headmistress issued an official decree an hour ago. Tomorrow morning, the top 50 students selected to represent the Aether Blessed Academy in the upcoming Grand Blessed Tournament have to gather at the Main Assembly Hall."

Lynx nodded slowly, absorbing the information.

The Blessed Tournament... the grand stage where the four Blessed Academy across the empire competed for glory, resources, and supreme rankings.

’The Headmistress, huh’ He thought. He hadn’t met the woman controlling this academy yet, but rumors suggested she was a monster in terms of power.

He was genuinely curious to see what kind of presence she possessed.

As Lynx leaned forward to grab his drink, his collar shifted slightly, pulling back to expose the side of his neck.

Kira’s sharp deep orange eyes instantly locked onto the dark, unmistakable reddish mark bruised into his skin. Her gaze hardened, her eyes darkening as a dangerous spark flared within them.

"Lynx," Kira said, her voice dropping into a low, sharp tone that caught the attention of the entire table. "What is that on your neck?"

Lynx paused with the glass halfway to his lips. He let out a nervous, airy laugh. "What? Oh, this? Just... a rough scratch from the duel earlier with Professor Rose. Mana backfire."

"You dueled with Prof.... Liar and that is not a mana backfire Lynx," Eira interjected immediately, her eyes widening as she leaned over the table to inspect it closer.

Her cool facade melted into an accusing, stern expression. "That is a hickey. A very fresh, very intentional hickey."

Ava gasped, slamming her hands on the table, her cheeks flushing with a mix of shock and jealousy. "Wait, what?. Who gave you that? You were gone for hours."

The girls locked their eyes onto him, a panel of beautiful, stern judges demanding an explanation.

Lynx looked around at their expectant, pouting faces and realized there was no slipping out of this one. Denying it would just make it worse.

Lynx sighed playfully, a wide, shameless grin breaking across his face. "Alright, fine. You caught me. Yes... I was with Rose not fighting, but..." he smirked. Not completing the word.

Silence descended on the table for a split second.

"Wait..." Emily jaw dropped slightly, her voice laced with genuine disbelief. "You actually slept with Professor Rose? The SSS Rank Fire Affinity Stern Strict Professor?"

Eira’s eyes were practically dinner plates. "No way... You actually fucked the professor?!"

Across from him, Lira’s eyes widened to their absolute limit. But instead of throwing a tantrum or bursting into jealous tears, the intense, possessive devotion deep within her surged to the surface.

Her initial shock evaporated, replaced instantly by a brilliant, radiant smile. Her eyes sparkled with a terrifying level of obsession and pride.

"Professor Rose..." Lira whispered, her breath hitching softly. "One of the absolute strongest Blessed women in the entire Aether Empire... the legendary Fire Queen of the academy... and you.. s-slept with her, Lynx?"

Kira shook her head with a heavy sigh, though the corner of her mouth twitched. "Great. Look what you’ve done Lynx. You broke Lira. You know she’s been obsessed with Rose’s power since Year 1."

"I do not know that. Besides she was the one warning me to stay away from her before I entered her office."

Lira slid out of her seat, moving right into Lynx’s space. Without an ounce of hesitation, she snuggled directly into his chest, burying her face into his shirt and letting out a soft, contented purr as her hands wrapped around his waist.

Lynx chuckled softly, his heart warming at her reaction. He reached down, gently rubbing Lira’s head, stroking her soft green hair as she nuzzled deeper into his warmth like a spoiled kitten.

"Hey," Ava whined loudly, pointing an accusing finger at Lira with a pout that could melt steel. "Lira, that’s completely unfair.. I was sitting closer to him. I should be the one in his lap right now."

Lira didn’t remove her face from Lynx’s chest. She simply turned her head slightly, peeked one eye out at Ava, and childishly stuck her pink tongue out at her.

The gesture was so absurdly cute, so completely out of character for the usually timid Lira, that the initial tension dissolved instantly.

Eira burst out laughing, Kira let out a snort, and even Ava couldn’t hold her scowl, breaking into bright, ring like laughter alongside them.

Across the cafeteria, several groups of male students were watching the VIP space where Lynx table were with absolute, burning envy.

"Look at that bastard..." one Year 2 guy muttered under his breath, gripping his fork so tightly it bent in half.

"Unfairly handsome, absurdly strong, beats up teachers for fun, and now he’s got the top beauties of our Year’s cuddling him in public..."

"Bro is living in a completely different world than the rest of us," another whispered miserably.

"It’s not fair man. It’s just not fair."

Lynx, possessing enhanced senses that picked up every whisper in a hundred yard radius, heard their muttered complaints perfectly.

He didn’t offer them a single glance. He just smiled into Lira’s hair, enjoying the warmth of his girls, the delicious food, and the absolute dominance he held over the room.

’Let them talk’ he thought. ’They don’t know how much I suffered in my past life. I’m just enjoying what I sowed.’

The atmosphere at their table was light, warm, and filled with playful banter... until the heavy double doors of the cafeteria swung open once more.

The ambient noise in the cafeteria didn’t just drop this time... it died out completely.

A collective hush swept through the massive hall as students rapidly parted to the left and right, clearing a wide, unobstructed path down the central walkway.

Four girls stepped into the cafeteria.

They moved with absolute, synchronized grace, their expressions cold, distant, and completely unbothered by the stares around them.

Their dark blue uniforms were strikingly different from the rest of the student present here... tailored to perfection, immaculate, pressed without a single wrinkle, and adorned with golden leaf pins.

Year 4 students. But not just any seniors. These were the elite enforcers the personal inner circle who served the legendary Queen of the Academy.

Without pausing to look at any of the murmuring students, the four Year 4 girls walked with deliberate, rhythmic steps straight toward the back of the cafeteria.

Their cold, sharp eyes locked directly onto Lynx’s table.
