My All Powerful System

Chapter 69: Lynx Vs Teacher Jace I

"Lynx! Lynx!! Lynx!!"

"Do you think he’ll win?" A first year boy asked, voice cracking. He was gripping the railing so tight his fingers were white.

"Maybe he won’t win, but he’ll definitely last longer. That dude is strong."

"Yeah, can’t disagree with that."

"Last longer? Bro did you see him in the other trials? He’s not normal."

Lynx heard them all. Every whisper. Every doubt. Every bit of hype. That smirk was on his face, slow and sharp and a little dangerous.

How did he get here?

Well thanks to his enhanced hearing. Which only intensified as he’s now a demon too. The world was too loud now. He could hear heartbeats from three hallways away.

He could hear the cameras clicking. He could hear Jace’s voice from the center of the stage, calm and heavy: "Lynx. You’re up."

He left Eira in the infirmary right after. She was sitting up on the bed, already trying to argue.

"It’s my turn to fight now," he told her before he left, brushing her hair back from her face with two fingers.

"Wait... I haven’t— you haven’t..."

He cut her off with a kiss to her forehead. Then he kissed her hands and lips. "I’ll be back. Don’t get up and rest."

"Are you guys coming too?" He asked Kira and Emily who immediately got up.

"Get well soon Eira. The fight’s happening. We can’t miss it. You can watch it live." Emily said to Eira. Then she and Kira left the place, heading towards the door where Lynx already is.

Eira eyes followed him to the door. He didn’t look back.

Then he moved.

He ran here... more like teleported. Because he’s very fast, even for the Blessed students he’s fast. The hallway lights blurred into lines. Students felt a cold wind and turned, but saw nothing.

Kira and Emily were speachless. Lynx was moving so fast that in mere seconds the gap between them widened drastically.

Lynx also made a very dramatic entrance.

When he was almost near the arena. He stopped running. Then he vanished. Turning completely invisible, with his Invisibility skill.

No Teacher or Student could spot him. Even for the Teachers and Students watching on liverstreams. But they were all waiting for him to show up.

"Where is He."

"Did he forfeit?."

Well somehow, the whole Academy knew it was Lynx time to fight Teacher Jace... and now almost all the students were live streaming.

Lynx stepped onto the stage while still invisible. And when he entered the center of the stage, he turned visible.

Lightning exploded outward in a perfect circle. Not an attack. Just his presence. His hair lifted. His hair and Heterochromatic eyes were glowing, like there was a storm living behind them.

The students reactions were very dramatic.

A full second of silence. Then chaos... Screams echoed around the arena. More phones were up. People standing.

"HE JUST APPEARED!"

"WHERE DID HE COME FROM?!"

Even Teacher Jace was impressed. His eyebrows lifted and the corner of his mouth twitched up. For a second the cocky Lightning Affinity Year 2 Teacher looked genuinely surprised. He crossed his arms.

Also the stream views has skyrocketed, because of Lynx of course. Students who were live streaming where having the time of their lives. Many many viewers on their stream. It looked like the whole academy were watching.

Different Year’s, even the Teachers of the Academy were watching. In Teacher Rose office she was leaning forward with a grin. I’m Teacher Selene’s office, her cold expression was replaced with amusement. In the upper office’s, those Year 3 or 4 teachers put down their drinks.

Safe to say even the Headmistress, King and Queen of the academy might be watching, but of course, the students present here doesn’t know if the academy higher ups were watching or not. They just knew, their live stream was packing lot of views.

The students here were now focused on the match that was about to happen. The air felt different. Heavier. Like right before a storm.

Kira and Emily were also here now, sitting front row. Kira had her arms crossed, but her foot was tapping. Emily was biting her lip, eyes locked on him.

Ava was also watching and she was worried cause Lynx hasn’t spared her a glance since the infirmary. She sat alone. Her hands were twisting in her lap. "Maybe it’s because he’s on stage now," she whispered to herself. It didn’t make her feel better.

The Lynxcrushers fan group she created were also on the Arena, cheering Lynx loudly. Some with Lynx Name on Banner.

It was funny. A treatment like that for someone who hasn’t showed up in the Academy more than 5-6 times.

The Arena quiet down... not fully, but it quiet down.

The chanting faded to a low hum.

Jace stood in the middle. Tall. Lean. Not built like a wall, but there was muscle under his clothes. The kind you get from moving fast, not lifting weights. His sleeves were rolled up. Lightning flickered faintly around his wrists, like he was barely holding it back.

His Lightning affinity was leaking off him. It made his hair float a little. It made the air hum.

He looked at Lynx like he was measuring weight and density.

"After all the hype I heard about you from your Teacher Rose," Jace said, and his voice boomed through the speakers, calm and amused, "I hope you don’t disappoint me."

Lynx chuckled. It wasn’t something nervous. It was the sound of someone who’d already decided how this was going to go.

"I’ll try my best. And I hope you don’t hold back. Because I’m not holding back."

Then he turned to the spectator stands, sweeping his gaze over all of them, and then at Teacher Jace. His smirk widened.

"You better seal the stage... for security purposes of course. We don’t want the students turning to dusts because of our big fight now right?."

"Hahaha..."

Jace laughed. A real, sharp laugh. Then he snapped his fingers.

The ground shook.

A translucent barrier covered the stage with a deep thrum! sealing them in. The air inside got dense immediately. The temperature rose by a degree.

The students could still see them clearly but more importantly they won’t be affected by whatever was going to happen in here. Even he was feeling the Aura that was coming off Lynx. It was Ancient.

Then he got to his stance. Feet shoulder width. One hand up, fingers spread. Lightning danced between them. "Come at me."

Lynx didn’t answer with words.

He moved first, he was very fast.

For half a second, nothing.

Then...

BOOM!

Lynx was already in Jace’s face. A palm strike, lightning coiled around his hand like a living snake. It wasn’t wild electricity. It was shaped. Focused. Ancient forms that weren’t taught around anymore. The kind that cuts instead of burns.

Jace reacted on instinct. He brought up his own arm. Lightning met lightning.

The clash was silent for one heartbeat. Then it exploded.

A shockwave made the barrier ripple and the front rows flinch. Sparks rained down.

Lynx didn’t stop. He twisted, drove a knee up. Jace caught it with a forearm wreathed in lightning. The impact sent both of them skidding back a meter.

Lynx checked health stats.

[HP: 55,700/ 60,000

MP: 77,800/80,000]

’Damn this guy’s strong,’ Lynx thought, eyes narrowing. ’Although he got hit heavily by Ava and Eira blessings, his health hasn’t move the way I expected it to.’ But Lynx wasn’t tired, neither was Jace.

The fight just got started.
