My All Powerful System

Chapter 85: Amira had a beef with the King?

After the tour and many other talks they ended up upstairs, the rooms side. They were four rooms. Each not close to each other. That was it. In this big house they had only four rooms. Another surprising thing.

But he was sure that each room would be bigger than some people’s entire sitting and dining room combined.

And he wasn’t wrong.

"This is my mom’s old room," Amira said, pushing one open. It had been renovated, new bed, new curtains, but the same big window that looked out over the garden, "I kept some of her stuff. The rest I simply donated."

She opened the next door, "Guest room one." Then the next, "Guest room two." Each of the rooms was really big.

Then she pushed open the last door.

Her room.

It wasn’t pink. It wasn’t frilly or girly girly. It was very big, clean, with dark blue sheets and white walls, a huge window letting in golden afternoon light.

And in the corner, a gaming setup. Triple monitors, RGB lights pulsing softly, and a chair that looked like a throne.

Lynx stopped in the doorway, "You play games?"

Amira flopped onto her bed, arms spread, "Duh. What, you think I just stay in Velbroth, masturbate and brood 24/7?"

"I kinda did, yeah."

She laughed and patted the spot next to her, "Sit. I’ll tell you a secret."

He sat, leaving a careful space between them. The bed dipped under his weight, too soft, too comfortable. ’Poor Jack would never,’ he thought. ’It’s good I’m Lynx now, with rich women, and a powerful system.’

"I love games," she said, turning onto her side to face him, "Open world, RPGs, anything where I can pretend I’m not a Blessed for a few hours. I’ve beaten every game on this setup twice."

Lynx looked at the monitors, "What do you play?"

"Everything. But mostly games where I can explore," she said, "I’ve traveled a lot, but it’s fun to travel somewhere that won’t try to kill you."

That made him look at her, "You’ve really traveled a lot?"

"Yep," she rolled onto her back, staring at the ceiling, "Became Blessed at 16." then she paused.

"Became a Blessed at 16." She repeated.

Lynx frowned, "So? That’s normal. 16 to 17 is the standard age. After that, you’re out of luck. Basic information."

Amira’s eyes narrowed, but in a playful way, "You became Blessed at 18."

Lynx blinked, "...Yeah?"

"And your mark is silver," she continued, reaching out and tapping his forehead lightly, her fingers cool against his skin, "Not gold. Like the rest of us."

Lynx pulled back, "What’s your point?"

"My point," Amira said, sitting up, her expression suddenly serious, "is that’s not normal, Lynx. At all. You should be thanking the Goddess every day that we live in an empire where people don’t question her too much. If this was the Heather Empire..."

She trailed off.

"What?"

"The Heather Empire doesn’t care about gods as much as we do," Amira said, her voice lower now, "They’re obsessed with science, labs, experiments. If they found out about you, 18, silver mark, glowing more than any Blessed, you’d be in a test tube before dinner."

Lynx shifted uncomfortably, hand unintentionally drifted to the band on his forehead, feeling the simple but hard cold cloth against his warm skin. "Do you believe in the Goddess stuff?"

Amira thought for a second, "I’m not a fanatic. I don’t pray every night like those people from the rural sides. You need to visit their churches one day, it’s crazy. But... yeah. I believe in her or them. She’s the one who gives us the blessing. And if she’s real, then the other gods are probably real too. The elves gods. The dwarves gods. All of them."

She smiled then, to lighten the mood, cause apparently being alone with a handsome guy and talking about different gods stuff is not really... "Anyway." She continued "After I got my blessing at 16, I went to the academy. Graduated at 21. Then I left."

"Left?"

"Most Blessed work for the king or stay in his Castle after year 4," she explained, swinging her legs off the bed, "You know, you’re a Blessed. Really Famous, Strong, Protecting the Empire from other forces, respects only the King and Stronger Blessed. Rich. Free to do anything. Apart from the scary parts, It’s a nice life."

"Yeah it is."

"But you have to pass a test first. No ceremony, no graduation cap like normal human schools. You pass, you get a certificate and a fat check to start your life, which comes weekly. You fail, you repeat until you pass."

Lynx nodded, "So you passed."

"Barely," she said with a grin, "And yeah I know you probably know this but, once you’re Blessed, your body glows faintly. Forever. Along with your mark. That’s how people know you’re chosen, even your Aura changes. Normal folks worship you, believe you’re the direct representative of the goddess. But yours... yours glows mores Lynx."

’That’s why,’ Lynx thought. ’Anyytime I release my Aura, I see worship and fear in the people that feel it. Especially Blessed.’

[Haven’t I told you before, you dumbass? You’re with the All Powerful System. Chosen one. The Absolute God is in you now. You are a fucking god.]

"I didn’t ask for your opinion, you damn system. And shouldn’t I be scared instead of proud."

[You shouldn’t be, at least not yet. As long as you don’t realese your Aura often. It’s good. You should be more scared of your headmistress. You think at this stage you are you’re important that a god would be watching you? Jokes on you kid]

Lynx didn’t know what to say to that, so he didn’t say anything. And besides ignoring his system feels good.

Amira leaned back on her elbows, "So. United Continent?"

Lynx looked up, "What?"

"You’ve heard about it, right? The biggest continent on Aetherion."

"I’ve heard things."

"I’ve been there," Amira said, "Lived there from 24 to 28. Four years."

Lynx turned to face her fully, "What’s it like?"

"It’s... different," she said, "Every race is there. Humans, vampires, elves, dwarves, beastkin, demons. All of them. And they don’t care if you’re Blessed or not."

"Why not?"

"Because the mana there is denser," Amira said, "So people get crazy strong without blessings. The humans there train like maniacs. A normal human there could probably beat a kid Blessed here to pulp. Maybe even some of the weaker adult Blessed."

Lynx frowned, "That’s impossible."

"It’s not," Amira said, "They use crazy artifacts to mimic affinities. And they don’t get lazy. They’re obsessed with getting stronger each day."

"What about the Blessed there?"

Amira’s expression changed, her voiced got serious.

"Deadly," she said quietly, "The Blessed in the United Continent are stronger than any Blessed you’ll find anywhere else. A Very Top Tier human Blessed there could take on our king. And maybe win."

Lynx swallowed. Hard, their king? Looks like Amira had a personal beef with him.

"Yeah," Amira said, watching him, "That’s the reaction I had too. And our King is no slouch. He is the strongest in this Empire."

’Yep’ he thought. ’She definitely has some beef with him.’

The room went quiet for a moment. Only the soft hum of the gaming PC filled the space.

Finally, Lynx spoke, his voice low, "Then I guess my ’big adventure’ is gonna start small. Nearby empires first."

Amira grinned and punched his shoulder lightly, "Smart start. Good boy. I’ll even follow you on your adventures, daddy." The last word almost came out like a purr.

Lynx raised an eyebrow, and a slow smirk pulled at his mouth, "Daddy? Since when did you start calling me that?"

Amira sat up, mirroring his smirk, and leaned in just a little, "Since you started acting like one. Bossing me around, saving me, paying me 400 H-Crystals in your head."

"I never bossed you around," he said, but his voice had lost its edge.

"You did," she whispered, and the space between them felt smaller now, "And I liked it."

The golden light from the window painted her face, her hair, the curve of her collarbone. The air in the room had changed. It was warmer, heavier, like the quiet right before a storm.

Amira didn’t look away. Neither did he.

She tilted her head, removed the band from his head. His body brightened more up instantly, she hummed in satisfaction, her voice dropping to something soft, teasing, and dangerous all at once, "So, what’s it gonna be, god-boy? You gonna keep sitting all the way over there, or..."

She didn’t finish the sentence.

Outside, the last bit of sunlight slipped behind the trees, and the room fell into a warm, gold shadow.

Lynx’s hand twitched at his side, and his dick twitched with his hand.
