After the three of them arrived at Fadu Temple on the mountaintop, Qing Luan showed his Jade Token to the young monk guarding the gate. After chanting a Buddhist prayer, the monk led the three of them inside the temple.
They turned several corners and finally stopped in front of a small redwood building.
"Honored guests, please, the uncle master is already inside!" The young monk said to Yun Hao and the others before turning to leave.
Yun Hao glanced in the direction the young monk left, and for some reason, a strange feeling arose in his heart, as if something was amiss.
Before he could think further, Qing Luan had already pushed open the wooden door in front of them and entered first with Xing Qing.
Yun Hao followed closely behind, but as he stepped inside, he saw an old monk draped in a robe sitting directly opposite him and suddenly realized what was wrong.
However, Yun Hao did not show it and silently followed behind Qing Luan and Xing Qing.
"Master Kuye, could you please open the Teleportation Gate of the Barrier for us?" Qing Luan seemed to know the old monk and stopped at a distance of about five meters from him, speaking respectfully.
"So it is Benefactor Qing Luan, Amitabha!" Kuye softly chanted a Buddhist prayer, then slowly stood up and approached a light screen beside him.
This light screen was the Teleportation Gate connecting to the real Kunlun Sacred Land. Once inside, they could reach the Kunlun Xu Sacred Land.
Kuye clasped his hands together, then separated them again, drawing a few symbols in front of him and projecting them into the light screen.
As these symbols were cast, a ripple-like effect suddenly appeared on the light screen.
"Honored guests, the Teleportation Gate is now open!" Kuye turned to the three and said, stepping aside to make way for the gate.
"Thank you, Master Kuye!" Qing Luan expressed gratitude, then looked to Yun Hao beside him, asking if he wanted to enter.
Yun Hao narrowed his eyes slightly and suddenly waved his large hand, creating an invisible barrier that surrounded everyone in the room.
"Master..." Qing Luan looked at Yun Hao, puzzled, not understanding why he was doing this.
"Master Kuye, let's talk!" Yun Hao gestured for Qing Luan to step behind him, then looked at Master Kuye with a faint smile.
"Benefactor Yun, your cultivation is indeed profound!" Master Kuye was not at all surprised by Yun Hao's actions, as if he had expected him to do so.
"Hehe, whether my cultivation is profound is not for you to guess!" Yun Hao chuckled scornfully.
"Indeed, but there is one curious question I have..."
"You want to ask how I realized something was wrong here?" Yun Hao interrupted Master Kuye, smiling as he asked.
"Yes, if it was just because the old monk was injured, it wouldn't have led you to suspect something was amiss, would it?" Master Kuye didn't hide anything and sat down on the meditation mat, his complexion, which was somewhat rosy, suddenly turning much paler.
Seeing the change in Master Kuye, even Qing Luan, though not very insightful, understood that Master Kuye had been suppressing his internal injury all along, and now that he couldn't suppress it anymore, the injury broke out.
Qing Luan was puzzled as to who could have injured Master Kuye, considering his cultivation had already reached the Late Stage of the Seventh Grade, making him a formidable expert.
Not just anyone could injure him!
"Have you ever seen a gatekeeper monk with a Fifth Grade Late Stage cultivation?" Yun Hao didn't waste time and went straight to the point.
Upon hearing Yun Hao's words, Kuye clasped his hands together and chanted a Buddhist prayer. Indeed, it was unusual for a guard monk to possess such high cultivation; placing a Fifth Grade Late Stage expert as a gatekeeper was discordant.
"Master, even the janitors can be masters; gatekeepers can be too!" Qing Luan hesitated for a moment and then questioned.
"True, but there's not a single fallen leaf in this monastery, even though it's currently the season for falling leaves. No matter how clean it is swept, a few leaves should still be there!
Moreover, from entering the monastery to reaching Master Kuye, we walked for quite a while, and almost every monk we encountered was a Sixth Grade expert. Although they concealed it well, I noticed discrepancies in their speech and behavior!
Two monks even wore black trousers under their robes, and some monks spoke in a worldly manner, clearly not the demeanor of someone who had practiced in isolation for long!
Adding on Master Kuye's internal injury, it was apparent that he had just been injured, given that he was suppressing it. The injury likely occurred not long before we arrived!"
In a rare moment, Yun Hao analyzed seriously, with reason and evidence, leaving Qing Luan and Xing Qing quite stunned.
"Master, you're incredible!" Qing Luan joyfully leaped into Yun Hao's arms, not caring that Master Kuye was nearby, planting a fragrant kiss on him.
"Actually, when we first entered the monastery, I already sensed something was wrong, but couldn't quite figure out what. Until we reached Master Kuye, and the guiding monk turned to leave, I finally understood the key.
The monk's footsteps were too light, clearly indicating a highly cultivated expert. Plus, before leaving, he secretly glanced at me, suggesting he recognized me. But I'm sure I don't know him, meaning that an ambush was set up for me here!
Yun Hao gently patted Qing Luan's bottom, signaling her to get down, then stared unblinkingly at Master Kuye.
"Benefactor Yun is precisely right, but these people are not here solely for you; there's another important reason—they want this string of Buddhist Beads!" Although gravely injured, Master Kuye remained calm, offering a string of Buddhist Beads to Yun Hao as he spoke.
"What is this?" Yun Hao took and examined them, finding nothing unusual about the beads.
"Benefactor, try infusing them with Immortal Yuan!" Master Kuye said calmly, then seeing Yun Hao about to comply, he stopped him, "Benefactor Yun, there's no need to rush; infusing Immortal Yuan here would draw outsiders even with the barrier. Wait until you've entered the Kunlun Sacred Land."
"Master Kuye, who are these people? Since they covet the Buddhist Beads so much, why give them to me?" Yun Hao nodded and refrained from infusing them with Immortal Yuan, capturing the beads in his hand as he spoke to Master Kuye.
