Wen Qian ran right into Yin Zhi and Chi Ye as she was coming out of the guest room.

The two of them were walking over, nearly side-by-side.

"Qianqian, what took you so long...?" Yin Zhi’s cold demeanor toward Chi Ye vanished as he leaned softly against Wen Qian.

’If he didn’t know he was the Young Master of the Silver Tiger Clan, Chi Ye would have really thought he was just some cat from Blue Star.’

"Chi Heng had a lot of injuries." Wen Qian’s face grew a little hot, as if she had just remembered something.

"Then where is he?" Chi Ye asked.

Wen Qian subconsciously glanced at the closed door. "He’s in there. There’s just a little left... He’ll take care of it himself."

The man nodded knowingly, all the while complaining in his head about his hopeless nephew. ’I created the perfect opportunity for him, so how could he not even keep her in the room?’

"Why did you two come upstairs?" Wen Qian asked, a thought seeming to occur to her.

Yin Zhi buried his face in her neck and murmured, "I missed you."

"COUGH..." Chi Ye choked on his own spit.

Yin Zhi’s image within the Tiger Clan was a world apart from his current behavior. If you hadn’t seen him in his element—swift and decisive—you’d truly be fooled by his harmless act right now.

"Alright, alright, let’s go downstairs and talk." Wen Qian gave Yin Zhi a little push. He probably had no idea how heavy he was.

"Fine." Yin Zhi pushed himself upright and, though reluctant, obediently followed Wen Qian downstairs.

Just as the three of them left, Shen Mqing opened the door a crack. But when he looked up, he was met with Chi Heng’s cold gaze. He was speechless for a moment. ’And who is this now...?’ he thought.

"Hey, who are you?" Shen Mqing glared at Chi Heng.

Chi Heng ignored him, finding the man incredibly noisy.

By now, Ling Xuan had finished cooking the noodles. Seeing Chi Heng come downstairs, he immediately brought a bowl to the table. Back in the Beast World, Yin Zhi would take Ling Xuan with him everywhere. In some places where conditions were harsh, Ling Xuan was responsible for all the cooking.

Unlike Yin Zhi, who was of noble birth, Ling Xuan had clawed his way up from the bottom. If Yin Zhi hadn’t noticed his outstanding combat abilities when he was young, he probably would never have even made it through the gates of the Silver Tiger Clan.

To Ling Xuan, Yin Zhi wasn’t just his Young Master; he was his savior.

He felt he hadn’t been much help earlier, so now he wanted to do whatever he could for everyone.

"Thanks," Chi Heng said coolly, taking the chopsticks Ling Xuan handed him.

He ate quickly, polishing off the noodles in no time.

Just then, Shen Mqing came downstairs as well. He instinctively took a step back when he met Yin Zhi’s gaze. But to save face, he puffed out his chest and said, "I’m not a thief. Why are you all so guarded around me?"

’They were all downstairs, but they made me go upstairs to sleep all by myself. I’m a member of the Tiger Clan, I have my pride!’

Speechless, Yin Zhi turned his head away. The mere sight of him was annoying.

"Hey, what’s with that look on your face..." Shen Mqing pressed on. Then, he tore off his little dinosaur hat and snapped, "You’ve all practically turned my house into a Beastman rescue shelter!"

’Okay, not entirely,’ he corrected himself. ’There’s a human female here, too.’

Yin Zhi rubbed his temples. "Either shut up, or get lost..."

It was the first time Wen Qian had ever seen anyone make Yin Zhi wear such an expression. It was a look of utter disgust mixed with complete helplessness.

"The nightclub’s business probably isn’t as simple as just selling Beastmen." By now, Ling Xuan had also walked over to report the latest news to Yin Zhi. Under everyone’s gaze, he explained, "Our people found out that the Mutated Bat Wings doesn’t belong to the Beast Fighting Arena. He has a human identity and his listed occupation is an ordinary office worker."

Sitting around and waiting for death was not an option.

While the people from the nightclub were investigating Yin Zhi and his group, Yin Zhi had his own people investigate them in return.

"Mutated Bat Wings? Those disgusting things came to Blue Star, too?" Shen Mqing leaned in, looking like a curious child, but quickly shut his mouth under Yin Zhi’s warning glare.

"Mutated Bat Wings can’t survive without blood, nor can they live normally in Yang Valley. That office worker identity is definitely a fake," Chi Ye said, stroking his chin.

"Yes, and he was also injected with a potion," Chi Heng added, his brow furrowed.

In the Beast World, the combat ability of Mutated Bat Wings isn’t actually that strong. Although their wings are sturdy, they can’t even pierce the skin of a Wolf Beast, let alone a Werewolf.

The moment Chi Heng spoke, everyone’s gaze shifted to him. After all, no one knew more about the potion injected into the Mutated Bat Wings than he did.

Although Yin Zhi and the others had some knowledge of the potion, it was merely a drop in the ocean compared to what Chi Heng, who had experienced it firsthand, knew.

"The potion was developed by the Blue Star government to target Beastmen. To be precise, it was an accidental discovery made in an attempt to force Beastmen to transform," Chi Heng said, his eyes downcast. He then continued in a low voice, "At the time, they just wanted Beastmen who could take on a human form. But human understanding of Beastmen was limited. They mistakenly believed Beastmen were simply evolved, mutated animals and never even considered that we came from another world."

"Although the Transformation Potion worked, it caused varying degrees of damage to a Beastman’s cells. As a result, many Beastmen underwent changes after being injected..."

"For example, I can become a Werewolf. Snake Beasts’ fangs grow longer, and members of the Hundred Bird Clan increase in size... Besides that, their speed, strength, intelligence, and even personality can be affected to different degrees."

"Once-gentle Beastmen would become violent, while confident, proud ones would grow sensitive and paranoid. Of course, for some Beastmen, the potion simply amplified their original traits. For instance, a Beastman who was already a fast runner would become even faster after the injection..."

"Are there a lot of Beastmen like that?" Wen Qian asked after a moment of thought.

"A lot," Chi Heng replied with a frown.

In his memory, the place where he was imprisoned was like an endless cage.

Countless Beastmen were kept inside, packed together like livestock. The sheer number of them was horrifying.

Some Beastmen who couldn’t adapt to the potion died right there on the operating tables. As for those like Chi Heng, who had already successfully transformed, they were forcibly injected with a different kind of potion.

That potion’s effects were similar to the Transformation Potion, but its primary purpose was to induce mutation in Beastmen.

"It seems every Beastman reacts differently to the potion. And a creature like the Mutated Bat Wings, which is already different from other Beastmen to begin with, would become even more difficult to control after an injection," Yin Zhi said coldly.

"Chi Heng said many Beastmen were forced to transform, but if this was all just for research, it seems a bit excessive..." Wen Qian trailed off, as if a thought had struck her. She bit her lip, hesitating. "And the man with the cane at the Beast Fighting Arena... how did he know the Snake Clan’s Magic?"

Either a Beastman told him, or he’s a Beastman himself.

Either possibility was extremely dangerous for Wen Qian and the others. It meant that a faction of Beastmen had already formed some kind of alliance with humans.

And that alliance could very well threaten the survival of all Beastmen.
