My Celestial Ascension

Chapter 996: God Of Lightning

"T-This is... How is it even possible for him to take down so many at once??" The God of Earth muttered, his eyes widening in disbelief.

"He is the one we have been searching for... the one who can wield that mystical energy," the God of Fire said, a dangerous look on his face.

"Is that so... So this is the true power of mystical energy... How formidable," the Goddess of Wind muttered, her voice laced with shock and disbelief.

"Our attacks seem to be completely useless against him. It’s as if his body is strong enough to withstand any attack we throw at him," the God of Creation added with a deep frown on his face.

"His body is so strong and refined that our logic doesn’t apply to him at all. Furthermore, he is also wielding another power besides the mystical energy, one that is completely unknown to us."

"Indeed... It’s giving me a strange feeling. As if I would be cut down immediately if I confronted it head-on," the God of Earth nodded in reply.

"That much is obvious... He is a dangerous fellow. It would be unwise to charge at him head-on, considering what he is capable of," the God of Fine nodded.

"I wonder what made him so desperate to come to the High Heaven and attack us all of a sudden..." the Goddess of Wind said, feeling curious despite the dangerous and unfavorable situation.

"Darling, why are you taking so long? On our side, we have finished cleaning up the pests dirtying this place."

Suddenly, Anna Grace’s voice resounded from the distance, making every head turn toward its source.

When the gods turned their heads, they were shocked. They were completely dumbfounded, their eyes widening in disbelief.

They saw Anna Grace holding something as she walked forward, while her companions closely followed behind her. That ’something’ was none other than the Goddess of Light and Justice.

Anna Grace pulled the Goddess by her hair, dragging her along with her and humiliating her publicly to the point that the Goddess of Light and Justice had lost all dignity.

"Let go of me, bitch! How dare a mere mortal humiliate me to this extent?!" The Goddess of Light and Justice yelled, desperately trying to break free from Anna Grace’s grip.

Unfortunately, she didn’t have the strength to break free from Anna Grace’s grip. Her struggles were futile before absolute strength.

"H-How could this happen...?!" the God of Fire mumbled in disbelief, as though the ground had suddenly vanished beneath his feet.

Meanwhile, the King of the Gods had recovered his Mana and stamina, and his injuries had also been healed completely.

When he heard the sudden commotion, he instinctively turned toward the source, and his eyes widened in disbelief.

’H-How could she lose to those mere mortals? Was she ambushed by all of them?’ His thoughts raced at the possibility.

Then he looked toward where Yuan was, and there he saw bodies scattered around him in a sight that would make even the most sane man go mad.

Suddenly, lightning began crackling in the sky, and a figure appeared, covered in lightning. Powerful lightning radiated from every inch of his body.

"Well, well, well, would you look at that... So many gods, and yet you failed to stop a puny mortal... What a disgrace to the title of god."

A handsome man appeared with long, flowing golden hair that emitted sparks of lightning into the air, a proud yet arrogant grin on his face.

"God of Lightning, you are late as always," the God of Fire said, an irritated look appearing on his face at the man’s arrival.

"What took you so long to arrive here? Look what has become of the High Heaven... We’re surrounded by the dead bodies of our people," the God of Earth said, his voice serious as anger rose in his eyes.

"And what about the Goddess of Water? Where is she? Why hasn’t she made her appearance yet, considering the significance of the situation?"

"She is enjoying her afternoon tea," the God of Lightning replied with a light shrug, as if the situation were completely under his control.

"She said that it wasn’t worth her time to meddle in dealing with some gutter rats, which I also agree with."

"Why you...!" The God of Fire gritted his teeth in frustration, his fists clenched tightly.

"Since you’re so confident in your strength, why not kill that mortal on your own? Why try to act all high and mighty?" The Goddess of Wind let out a soft chuckle, pointing her finger at Yuan.

"Hmph! I don’t need you to tell me that... I can take him down with a single spell of mine." The God of Lightning snorted coldly, as if his ego had been hurt, and focused his gaze on Yuan.

Yuan also looked back at him before raising his sword and flashing a dangerous smile.

"So, everyone has arrived with the exception of the so-called Goddess of Water... It seems that she wants me to come to her and take her life in the comfort of her own home," he said with a wide grin.

"Hmm... So you’re the mortal who is on a rampage in here like a wild monkey... Fascinating. You don’t look like someone strong." The God of Lightning spoke with a pondering look on his face as he assessed Yuan from head to toe.

"And it seems your eyes are just as useless as your existence... How about I pluck them out and play with them?" Yuan replied, making the God of Lightning incredibly furious.

His eyes glowed with golden light as lightning began to surge from his body, making the surrounding atmosphere tremble under his incredible power.

"You damn lowly insect! You’re in the presence of a god! Show some manners!" The God of Lightning cursed immediately, his face twisting with hatred.

"Yuan, break that arrogant face of his. It makes me sick..." Long Yuyan spoke in a calm voice. "As the guardian beast of the Earth Immortal Sect, I cannot overlook his arrogance simply because he calls himself a god."

"After all, even immortals who have lived for millions of years would dare to call themselves gods, much less these mere mortal insects." Her expression hardened as she said this, her eyes glowing for a moment.

"Naturally, I’ll make sure that they pay for calling themselves gods," Yuan replied with a smile as he raised his sword.

"Come at me, you pathetic vermin!" Yuan shouted, pointing his sword at the God of Lightning with a grin.

"Don’t cry later, since you’ve asked for this!" The God of Lightning roared at Yuan in fury as he charged toward him.

Multiple magic circles appeared in the air as lightning bolts began striking Yuan from multiple directions.

Bang! Bang! Crack! Bang!

However, Yuan didn’t even bother dodging them, knowing they were harmless to him. Smoke completely covered his figure, blocking everyone’s vision.

Once the smoke dissipated, the scene shocked every god present. Their eyes widened in disbelief as they saw Yuan still standing there, completely unharmed.

"H-How is this possible...?" The God of Lightning mumbled, a clear look of disbelief on his face.

"That was one of my most powerful magic attacks! It was imbued with Divine Magic, the pinnacle of magic! How did you survive?!" He shouted at Yuan, witnessing something beyond his comprehension.

"It’s because you’re weak. A pathetic loser like you has no right to question me," Yuan replied with a clearly mocking grin.

Anna Grace, who was witnessing this, let out a soft sigh.

’He’s clearly having fun... No wonder he’s taking his sweet time breaking their confidence one by one,’ she thought inwardly, shaking her head slightly.

’What the hell is going on?!?! How could he fail to kill this hateful little vermin with his magic?!’ The Goddess of Light and Justice screamed inwardly, seemingly unable to believe what she was witnessing.

Then she remembered the words spoken by the horned woman, and a deep realization suddenly settled over her, making her eyes widen.

’Wait a moment... That woman with horns... She spoke about immortals who have lived for millions of years... What was that about?’ she thought, and the more she pondered it, the more confused she became.

’Could people really live for millions of years? Is this even remotely possible?’

’And what the hell is this Earth Immortal Sect? Some kind of organization that we don’t know about?’ She was completely puzzled by everything. Every word Yuan and the others spoke made absolutely no sense to her.

Meanwhile, the God of Lightning decided to attack Yuan with a weapon created from lightning itself, as none of his spells had worked against him.

Every spell he threw at Yuan proved useless. Yuan remained completely unharmed beneath a barrage of attacks powerful enough to level a mountain, shocking all the gods.

In the end, with no other choice left and unwilling to lose face in front of everyone because of his arrogance, he decided to use physical attacks against Yuan.

With his powerful Lightning Magic, his speed and agility were off the charts, making him believe that he had the advantage.

However, just as his lightning sword was only an inch away from Yuan’s neck, a smile appeared on Yuan’s face.

With a swift movement of his hand, Yuan shattered the lightning sword before punching the God of Lightning several times while carefully controlling his strength.

The God of Lightning immediately collapsed onto the ground, blood flowing from his mouth and nose, while his ribs shattered from the powerful impacts.

Yuan then picked up his sword and placed its sharp tip against the God of Lightning’s neck.

With a wide grin on his face, he spoke, "It must be painful, right? Let me make the pain disappear completely."

"Y-You... What do you think you’re doing...?!?!" The God of Lightning’s voice trembled, his eyes moist with terror.

Slash! Without wasting a single second, Yuan thrust his sword forward and sliced open the God of Lightning’s neck without the slightest hint of remorse.
