Chapter 121: Chapter 121: Inappropriate

"So what? It’s your own fault for being stupid!" Roya Winters said coldly. "Don’t call me again."

"Aren’t you afraid I’ll expose you?"

"Go right ahead. Let’s see who believes you."

Hearing the BEEP BEEP BEEP as the line went dead, Finn Summers gripped her phone tightly, grabbed her bag, and headed straight for Starlight.

She was going to find Roya Winters and demand an explanation face-to-face.

’After ruining my life, does she think she can just turn her back and leave me to rot?’

’In her dreams!’

...

After finishing her meal with Yvonne Lowell, Vesper Grayson drove back to the office.

She had just sat down when Dolly Hughes came running over.

"Sister Vesper..." She trailed off, realizing her mistake, and quickly corrected herself. "President Grayson, Finn Summers and Roya Winters had a falling out. They had a huge fight at the company this morning."

"Oh? Tell me what happened."

’Last night, Finn Summers was taking all the blame and staunchly defending Roya Winters. And they had a complete falling out in just one night?’

Dolly Hughes quickly recounted what had happened at Starlight.

This morning, Finn Summers had stormed into Roya Winters’s dressing room to confront her. Roya’s detached, "none-of-my-business" attitude enraged Finn. In the heat of the moment, the two got into a physical fight, and Roya ended up with an injury on her face.

Roya was immediately sent to the hospital, while Finn Summers was brought before Zane Rivers. There, she spilled the beans on everything Roya Winters had ever done.

That included the incident at last night’s banquet, which Roya had manipulated her into carrying out.

"That Finn Summers is so brainless. Before starting a fight, she didn’t even think to get some dirt on her or find any evidence. Even if people believe her, without proof, they can’t do anything to Roya Winters!" Dolly Hughes said indignantly. "Roya is so shameless, too. Using someone and then just tossing them aside—she can’t just get away with that! If it were me, I’d take her down with me!"

Vesper Grayson glanced at her. "Don’t worry, I wouldn’t do that to you."

"President Grayson, of course I know you’re a good person!"

"When no one’s around, you can still call me Sister Vesper. It feels more familiar."

Dolly Hughes nodded. "Sister Vesper, the police have taken Finn Summers into custody. Should we do something?"

"We don’t need to do anything." She leaned back against the sofa. "I gave her a chance. She’s the one who didn’t cherish it."

...

"The wound isn’t deep. As long as you take proper care of it, it should heal without leaving a scar."

Hearing the doctor’s words, Roya Winters finally let out a breath of relief.

’That crazy bitch Finn Summers actually tried to ruin my face!’

’She deserves to die a thousand deaths.’

Lana Chandler finished paying the fees and walked over, her gaze exceedingly cold.

"Why did you call the police? Blowing this up won’t do you any good."

"She almost ruined my face. I’m not supposed to call the police? I should just let her go?"

"President Rivers told me to bring you to him!"

Roya Winters froze for a moment, then followed her back to the company.

The atmosphere in the office was heavy.

Zane Rivers was sitting on the sofa, his legs propped up on the coffee table. When he saw her come in, he shot her a cold glance.

"P-President Rivers, you have to stand up for me..." she said, aggrieved, lowering her head to wipe away tears.

"If you hadn’t pushed things to the extreme, would she have hurt you?"

"I never mistreated her. I implore you to see the truth, President Rivers."

Zane Rivers threw a file at her feet.

"Since you’re so good at servicing men, why don’t you change careers and go work at Stellaris Plaza?"

Roya Winters’s body stiffened. She bent down to pick it up. After reading it, her face turned deathly pale.

"This is all slander! Finn Summers is just a crazy bitch. You can’t believe a word she says!"

"Do I need to bring them here to confront you face-to-face?"

"..."

"Why aren’t you talking now?"

Roya Winters sobbed with her head down. "President Rivers, it’s not easy for a girl like me with no background to make it in this industry. I had no other choice but to use my body to get by. But I was very discreet about it. I was never caught by the paparazzi... and I never caused any losses for the company."

"Then you should be grateful you’re talking to me here, and not at a police station!"

"..."

"Go to the police station and withdraw your complaint. Fulfill the promises you made to her, then go to the hospital and clear things up with Yvonne Lowell. Otherwise, you can forget about participating in any future events."

After all, Roya Winters was someone he had built up. She still had value to Starlight, and blowing this up would have a major impact on the company.

"Okay, I understand," Roya Winters agreed softly, clenching her fists.

Zane Rivers said coldly, "Lana, you will personally accompany her."

"Yes, President Rivers."

...

Coming out of the police station and the hospital, Roya Winters felt as if her heart were bleeding.

"Consider these few million a lesson learned!"

"With your abilities, you’ll earn it back in less than half a year."

"President Rivers values talent and couldn’t bear to give up on you. From now on, you’d better behave yourself. Keep that temper of yours in check!"

Roya Winters nodded, watching Lana Chandler get into her car and drive away.

Her expression suddenly turned grim.

’Finn Summers made me suffer such a huge loss. I’ll never let this go!’

She took out her phone and made a call.

...

"President Grayson, there’s a new development from Starlight! Roya Winters personally went to the police station to bail out Finn Summers, and the two signed a settlement agreement."

"It seems she’s also settled things with Yvonne Lowell. The matter is closed!"

The pen in Vesper Grayson’s hand paused. She wasn’t surprised by this outcome.

A wise person submits to the circumstances. Roya Winters understood her current situation, so she simply chose to bear all the breach-of-contract damages to quell the incident.

’But knowing Roya Winters’s vindictive nature, things won’t be easy for Finn Summers.’

"Sis, am I interrupting?"

Gwen Grayson knocked lightly on the door and peeked her head in to ask.

"Come in."

Dolly Hughes quickly excused herself and left.

"Dad asked me to check if you needed any help with what happened at the banquet last night."

"No, it’s already been resolved."

"That fast?"

"They’re both from the same company. If it blew up, it would look bad for everyone, so they could only negotiate a private settlement."

Vesper Grayson noticed her hesitation. "Is there something else?"

"Well..." Gwen Grayson found it a little hard to say. "A while ago, I won the bid for a core plot of land. I was planning to develop high-end residences and commercial facilities, but the follow-up planning reviews and construction permits have been stuck. They just won’t approve them, so the project can’t even break ground... Could you ask your fiancé to help out and step in to move the approval process along?"

"That’s not appropriate!" Vesper Grayson refused flatly.

Gwen Grayson grew anxious. "Sis, I’m really out of options. It’s a company project, you can’t just ignore it."

"We’re not even married yet, and you want me to ask him for a favor? What would that make him think of our Grayson Family?"

"But that land is just stuck, we can’t do anything with it, and the losses are huge... If I had any other way, I wouldn’t have asked you."

Vesper Grayson frowned. "Try to arrange a meeting with the person in charge and explain the relevant procedures clearly. I doubt the official would be that unreasonable."

"I’ve tried. I can’t get a meeting..." Gwen Grayson said, dejected.

Just then, her phone rang.

After answering the call, Gwen Grayson’s face lit up with a smile.

"Sis, the official agreed to meet tonight, but... can you come with me?"
