My CEO Husband Says I'm Irreplaceable

Chapter 27: Miss Grayson Was Very Passionate Last Night

Chapter 27: Chapter 27: Miss Grayson Was Very Passionate Last Night

Vesper Grayson met the mischievous glint in his eyes and raised an eyebrow.

"Is President Hawthorne trying to flirt with me?"

Jared Hawthorne’s lips curved into a wanton smile. "Well then, Miss Grayson, have I succeeded in seducing you?"

His voice was deep, his breath intimate, utterly bewitching.

An indescribable flutter went through her heart. She hooked a finger in his collar and pulled him straight to the door.

"Open it."

Jared Hawthorne keyed in the password. If Vesper had been watching closely, she would have discovered it was her birthday.

The moment they stepped into the entryway, she reached up, wrapped her arms around his neck, and kissed him on her tiptoes.

’At this point, being coy would just ruin the mood.’

The instant her petal-soft lips met his, Jared Hawthorne’s eyes darkened as if saturated with ink. His long arms suddenly wrapped around her slender waist, and with a gentle squeeze of his fingers into the soft flesh there, he lifted her clean off the ground.

In that moment of weightlessness, her legs instinctively bent and wrapped around his waist, her ankles crossing behind his lower back. Her skirt slid down, the skin of her inner thighs pressing directly against his scorching-hot trousers.

A searing kiss descended, the grinding of their lips filled with an undeniable possessiveness that wound around her, almost suffocating her. The soft moans that escaped her throat were completely devoured by him.

Vesper was pinned between his scorching chest and the hard, cold wall, able to do nothing but let his kiss spread like a wildfire, burning her until her fingertips trembled. She could only cling tightly to his shoulders, completely losing her composure in his increasingly fierce yet tender kiss.

When she was pushed down into the soft sofa, a moment of clarity returned to her beautiful eyes.

The living room lights were off, the space dim. The man’s aggressive gaze was locked tightly on her.

He was like a jaguar, lying in wait for ages, poised to strike.

Her heart pounded wildly.

Little did she know how bewitching she looked at that moment—her black hair disheveled, her eyes shimmering, her lips swollen and red. She was like a siren from the deep sea, luring souls to their doom.

Jared Hawthorne’s gaze darkened further. He shrugged off his suit jacket with a sweep of his arm and leaned in to kiss her again.

"Wait..."

At the critical moment, Vesper called out softly, her hand pressed against his warm chest.

Jared Hawthorne’s dark eyes narrowed, a dangerous light swirling within them. "Don’t tell me Miss Grayson is suddenly having second thoughts now?"

"No," she said, her fingertips curling. "Could you... be a little gentler later?"

’She was afraid her small frame couldn’t handle his onslaught.’

The last time, she had only casually joked that he was a "few-second man," and he had pinned her down and tormented her for the entire night, leaving her body sore all over.

Jared Hawthorne chuckled. "Is Miss Grayson complimenting me on my vigor?"

Vesper was speechless with indignation. "Can’t you be a little more modest?"

’Give him an inch, and he’ll take a mile.’

Moonlight spilled through the window lattice, falling upon the entangled figures and scattered clothes, silently weaving a scene of romance and desire.

...

Gwen Grayson watched helplessly as the Maybach sped through traffic and quickly vanished from her sight.

"Damn it!"

She slammed her fist on the steering wheel, wincing and sucking in a sharp breath from the pain.

She turned the car around and drove back to the Grayson Residence.

Joyce Rivers was sitting on the sofa watching TV. Hearing a noise, she glanced over and saw Gwen walk in through the entryway.

She asked gently, "Gwen, did you manage to meet with Mr. Valen?"

"I saw him, but I didn’t get to say a single word to him!"

Gwen, thinking of how utterly humiliated she had been tonight, slammed the proposal in her hand onto the coffee table.

Seeing her foul expression, Joyce frowned and pulled her over.

"Did something happen?"

Gwen poured out the whole story of what had happened that night.

"Mom, Vesper was just too much! Do you have any idea how embarrassing it was to be thrown out tonight? And after she came out, I saw her get into some man’s car..."

"Who got into a man’s car?"

Milton Grayson’s voice came from the stairs.

"Who else? Vesper, of course, my ’dear’ sister!" Gwen said irritably.

"What nonsense are you spouting? How could your sister possibly get into a man’s car? You must have seen wrong!" Milton Grayson scolded. "I know you and Vesper don’t get along, but you shouldn’t slander her reputation like this."

Gwen was about to retort, but Joyce quickly squeezed her hand to stop her.

"Gwen is just flustered with worry. It’s just that the sisters went to Mr. Chandler’s party tonight and had a small disagreement."

Milton Grayson sat down on the sofa. "What happened?"

Joyce repeated what Gwen had just said.

However, she omitted the part where Gwen had deliberately framed Vesper and been exposed in public. She only said that Vesper had intentionally embarrassed Gwen at the party, causing her to be kicked out of the hotel. She implied that Vesper was so desperate for the Vice President position at the company that she would resort to unscrupulous means, disregarding their sisterly bond.

"Milton, I know Vesper isn’t our biological daughter, but in all these years, I’ve never mistreated her. You favor her, and I’ve never said a word against it, but what she did this time was really too much! If you can’t handle this fairly and continue to side with her, you’ll truly break Gwen’s heart."

Gwen’s eyes were red, and the moment Milton Grayson looked over, she let a single, perfectly timed tear fall.

"Father, I don’t blame my sister. After all, she has your love, while I... no matter what I do, I can never seem to please you."

She was his biological daughter, after all. How could Milton Grayson not dote on her?

It was just that in the past, her arrogant and domineering behavior, always competing with Vesper over every little thing, couldn’t help but displease him.

Gwen had Joyce to protect her; if he didn’t protect Vesper, then she would be truly pitiful.

"If what you say is true, Father will not be biased toward anyone!"

After speaking in a grave voice, Milton Grayson took out his phone to call Vesper.

He called several times in a row, but no one answered.

"Father, after I was kicked out, I waited at the entrance for my sister, hoping to go home with her. But then I saw her get into a man’s car. I was worried for her safety and wanted to follow and see, but they spotted me and shook me off."

Gwen continued to pour oil on the fire. "They must have some kind of shady relationship, otherwise why would they feel guilty and need to shake me off?"

Joyce spoke in a soft voice.

"Milton, Gwen is just worried about her sister. Besides, Vesper came back hoping to continue the marriage alliance with the Hawthorne Family. If word gets out that she spent the night with another man, I’m afraid it will provoke Master Hawthorne’s anger all over again."

Milton Grayson’s eyes darkened as he gave a warning.

"We don’t know the full story yet. Stop spouting nonsense. Neither of you is to speak a word of this to anyone outside."

...

Sunlight streamed through the clean windowpanes, casting dappled patterns of light and shadow on the floor.

Vesper Grayson opened her drowsy eyes on the soft, king-sized bed, her gaze instinctively searching for that tall, slender figure.

The surroundings were quiet; she was the only one in the bedroom.

Her gaze shifted, landing on a note on the bedside table.

The handwriting was forceful, the strokes powerful and fluid.

"I have some business to attend to. I’ll have someone contact you later. P.S. Last night’s Miss Grayson was as passionate as fire, just how I like it..."

A blush crept up Vesper’s cheeks. She bit her lip and muttered, "That dog!"

She grabbed her phone and saw several missed calls, all from her father.

’She had to go to the company later anyway,’ so she decided not to call back for now.

As she sat up, she caught a glimpse of a clean dress folded at the foot of the bed, with a black bra and matching underwear placed on top.

A trace of surprise flickered in Vesper’s eyes.

’The dog was a bit fierce in bed, but he was also quite thoughtful.’

Her favorable impression of him grew a little.

Only after putting them on did she realize the size was a perfect fit, exactly the size she normally wore.

’But how could he know her size?’
