My Class is Null, But I Always Get the Best Outcome

The enormous gate opened slowly. Sera kept the Aegis of the First Dawn raised, expecting another gigantic monster to burst through.

Instead, nothing. No movement. No sound.

Mira lowered her hammer slightly. "Did it run away?"

Lily didn’t answer, eyes fixed upward. Sera followed her gaze and found a massive creature clinging upside down to the ceiling, four folded wings pressed tight against its body.

"There," Sera said, tightening her grip.

The creature opened its eyes.

BOOM!

It dove. Sera raised her shield, and the impact nearly threw her off the platform entirely, boots scraping across stone.

Much stronger than anything they’d fought so far.

Mira charged. "Get off her!"

CLANG!

Her hammer met a folded wing, and both were thrown backward from the force. Lily fired.

WHOOSH!

One arrow split into seven. The creature dodged six of them, and the seventh caught its shoulder clean.

Sera saw the opening and rushed forward, striking once, twice, three times, the Dawn Valkyrie flowing naturally between each hit, the golden light along the blade brightening with every consecutive strike.

The longer she kept the rhythm going, the stronger it got.

The creature tried to flee. Sera followed, a fourth strike, a fifth, a sixth, the aura building to something intense.

She brought the sword down. "Sky Sever."

A massive crescent of golden energy tore through the creature.

BOOM!

It crashed into the platform, cratering the stone.

Mira looked at the damage. "Okay." She whistled. "That sword is ridiculous."

"It’s getting stronger the longer I keep attacking," Sera said, studying the blade.

"Then it’s almost designed for you," Lily said.

"I was thinking the same thing."

They pushed deeper, and the dungeon changed immediately. The floating platforms shrank, the gaps between them widening. Storm clouds gathered beneath, lightning striking distant platforms without warning, pieces of the fortress crumbling loose and vanishing.

"This place is becoming more unstable," Sera said.

"The dungeon’s environment is part of the challenge," Lily said, watching another platform break apart.

Mira lifted her hammer. "Then we’ll break through it."

"You can’t smash a gap."

"Not with that attitude."

A large group of monsters appeared, Skybound Knights, Storm Harpies, several larger flying beasts, all Level 63 to 64.

Sera raised her shield. "Formation."

Nobody needed further instructions. Lily fell back, Mira moved up, Sera took the center, and the monsters attacked.

A Knight struck at Sera, and she blocked.

CLANG!

Another attacked from the side, and the shield expanded automatically, a golden barrier catching both hits at once. She felt the force pouring into it, not resisting so much as storing.

"My turn."

She threw it, the shield spinning through the battlefield, striking one monster, then another, then a third, the stored energy detonating on the last impact.

BOOM!

Everything scattered. The shield curved back through the air, and she caught it clean.

Mira stared. "I definitely want one of those."

"You’d probably throw it at everything."

"Exactly."

Storm Harpies attacked from above, and Lily drew, releasing one arrow that split into seven, but this time she scattered them deliberately rather than aiming straight at the targets. One blocked an escape route. Another forced a Harpy lower. A third shifted direction mid-flight.

THUNK! THUNK! THUNK!

Three fell at once.

"You’re controlling where they can move," Sera said, understanding.

"If I can’t predict every movement," Lily said, drawing another, "I can make their choices smaller."

Mira charged into the remaining monsters, deliberately letting several hits land.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

Her armor glowed brighter with each one.

"Mira," Sera warned.

"Almost," Mira said, grinning.

The Titanheart Maul lit up fully. "Now."

She swung.

BOOOOOOM!

Every monster in front of her scattered.

"That’s satisfying."

Sera shook her head. "You’re encouraging them to hit you."

"It works."

"Until it doesn’t," Lily said quietly.

"Don’t ruin this."

The platform tilted without warning, gravity reversing entirely, the sky and ground trading places. Sera’s shield projected a golden platform beneath her feet automatically, stabilizing her.

"This equipment is useful outside combat too."

Lily fired an arrow into a distant platform, marking it. "That one’s stable."

Mira grabbed Sera’s shoulder and leaped. Sera followed. Lily used a short Astral Step to cross a collapsing gap entirely, reappearing safely on solid ground.

"You could do that before?" Sera asked.

"Not like this," Lily said.

They pushed on, the fortress growing older-looking around them, massive towers stretching into the clouds, broken statues of winged warriors lining the paths, faint mana still clinging to some. Weapons stood embedded in the walls.

Lily stopped. "Those aren’t monsters."

"Then what?" Mira asked.

"A warning," Sera said.

A distant roar confirmed it.

Several larger creatures emerged.

[Skyfall Guardian — Level 64.]

Multiple at once, and clearly stronger than everything before them. The first attacked Sera, and the impact threw her backward hard.

Mira intercepted a second. Lily engaged a third. For the first time, the three of them split up entirely.

Sera focused on hers, absorbing one heavy strike, then another, the stored force building in her shield. She waited, and when it struck again, she stepped aside, the Dawn Valkyrie flashing.

One. Two. Three strikes, its defenses cracking apart. She finished with Sky Sever, the golden crescent tearing straight through its chest.

It collapsed. She glanced over, Mira’s already flattened, Lily’s target surrounded by Spirit Archers before a final arrow finished it.

We’re getting stronger, Sera thought.

The path finally opened into a massive circular platform, clouds surrounding it on every side, an enormous golden gate standing at the center.

"Boss room," Lily said.

"Finally," Mira said, rolling her shoulders.

"Stay focused," Sera said.

"I am focused."

"You’re focused on hitting something."

"That’s my focus."

Sera laughed, and they approached the gate together.

It opened, revealing a massive creature within, four enormous wings, black metallic armor, golden horns, lightning crawling across its whole body, the air itself heavier around it.

[Skyfall Sovereign — Level 70.]

Sera’s expression sharpened. "Level seventy."

Mira gripped her hammer. "Then we’re fighting something at our level."

"Let’s finish this," Lily said, raising her bow.

The Sovereign spread its wings, and the entire arena darkened.

Lightning rained down.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Sera threw up a barrier, golden light expanding around all three of them, lightning crashing against it.

"It’s stronger than anything we’ve fought so far," she said through gritted teeth.

Mira charged straight through the storm. "Then I’ll break it!"

The Sovereign swung a wing.

BOOM!

Mira blocked with the maul, sliding hard across the platform. Lily fired seven arrows into its wings, and it roared. Sera charged, striking continuously, the Dawn Valkyrie brightening with every hit while Lily’s arrows sealed off its escape routes and Mira pressed from the opposite flank.

The Sovereign unleashed a massive lightning beam.

Sera stepped in front of the others. "Behind me!"

She raised the Aegis.

BOOOOOOM!

The barrier held, barely, energy pouring into it. She smiled. "Got you."

She released the stored force straight back, the shield’s stored energy erupting forward and blasting the Sovereign backward.

Lily seized the opening, drawing her bow, and this time formed only one arrow.

"One?" Sera asked.

"One is enough."

She released it, the arrow traveling slow. The Sovereign moved to dodge, and the arrow changed direction, striking it dead center in the chest.

BOOM!

It froze, a glowing mark spreading across its body.

"Now."

Spirit Archers appeared everywhere at once, hundreds of arrows filling the arena and forcing the Sovereign down.

Mira charged, her armor glowing intensely, the Titanheart Maul carrying everything it had absorbed.

"Titan Breaker!"

BOOOOOOOOOOM!

The hammer struck home, the arena shaking, cracks spreading across its armor.

Sera saw the opening and charged, the Dawn Valkyrie brighter than it had ever been.

"Sky Sever!"

A massive golden crescent tore through the boss. Lily fired one final arrow.

The Sovereign collapsed. Silence.

[Boss Defeated.]

[Dungeon Cleared.]

[Experience Acquired.]

Sera’s eyes widened.

[Level Up.]

[Level: 71.]

She stared at it. "...Seventy-one."

Mira checked her own status, eyes going wide. "Same."

"Me too," Lily said, smiling.

Nobody spoke for a moment. Sera felt something shift inside her, mana moving more naturally, her body lighter, her connection to the sword deeper than before.

Level 70 hadn’t been the end. Just another wall.

They’d broken through it.

The boss vanished entirely, several rewards left behind, some equipment, some rare materials, one glowing with brilliant gold light.

Lily picked it up. "Legendary."

"How good?" Mira asked.

"Very." But it wasn’t S-Grade, and that distinction mattered. Tiamat’s rewards stayed in a category of their own.

"We’ll keep it," Mira said.

"We can decide what to do with it later," Sera agreed.

Lily found three small rings among the pile, picking one up.

[Barrier Ring — Legendary.]

She activated it, a translucent shield forming around her body.

Mira poked it. THUD. It held.

"I like these," Mira said.

Sera took one for herself, activating it. "Emergency protection."

"Exactly," Lily said.

The dungeon suddenly trembled. RUMBLE. The floating fortress began breaking apart.

"Again?" Mira said.

"The dungeon is collapsing," Lily said, already grabbing the rewards.

"Then run."

"For once, I agree," Sera said.

They sprinted, platforms collapsing behind them, towers falling, the lightning storms winking out one after another as the whole Skyfall Citadel dissolved into scattered particles.

They reached the entrance. Sera leaped through, Lily followed, Mira jumped last, and the instant she landed—

BOOOOOOM!

The gate shattered, fragments of blue light scattering across the street before vanishing entirely.

Sera turned. The dungeon was gone.

All three of them stood at Level 71 now, equipped with brand-new S-Grade gear, another B-Rank dungeon behind them.

Mira stretched. "Next?"

"Already?" Lily asked.

Mira shrugged. "We’re trying to catch Kai."

Sera smiled. "Then let’s not waste time."

They started walking again through the rebuilding streets of Mythal, the next disaster still counting down somewhere ahead of them, and not much time left to prepare.

"We still have a lot to improve," Sera said, looking toward the horizon.

"Our equipment too," Lily added.

Mira lifted the Titanheart Maul. "And I’m still figuring out everything this thing can do."

"Then we’ll keep testing," Sera said.

They walked further, and the air ahead distorted, a faint ripple appearing in the street.

Sera stopped.

Mira’s eyes lit up. "Dungeon?"

Lily checked, and the distortion widened.

Sera drew Dawn Valkyrie slightly from its sheath, gold light flashing along the edge.

"Looks like it."

The three of them walked toward it together.
