Chapter 2180: Chapter 2176: Kindred Spirits
"The words you said in the store earlier were too radical. I’m afraid it will cause a lot of criticism."
When Chu Kuang returned to the alchemy room in the shop’s backyard, Chu Qing said with a slight frown.
Glaring at Chu Lu standing next to Chu Qing, Chu Kuang sat down on the chair opposite Chu Qing with a grin: "Brother Qing, don’t worry. I have my limits. The hate isn’t directed at our Chu Family but at the Tianpo City Hospital. If it weren’t for the hospital stopping their sale of medicine powder, how could they be coerced by us?"
"How do you know the Tianpo City Hospital stopped selling medicine powder? I’ve managed the hospital for so many years; I know more about it than you do. That Zhao Jian is a very talented person. I’ve always suppressed him when I was at the hospital. Now that I’m not there, perhaps Tang Ming has promoted him."
Chu Qing snorted irritably.
Chu Kuang chuckled awkwardly: "How about I take out another batch of medicine powder to sell?"
"Hmm, just say that it’s because of my understanding of the Demon Hunting Teams’ needs. But since you’ve already provoked those people, there’s no need to show them any face. They’re not entitled to buy, and the price will remain at the increased level you set."
Chu Qing’s mouth curled up slightly. Chu Kuang, standing beside him, was initially stunned, then burst into laughter as well.
Chu Lu quietly sighed at human greed in his heart but still headed out to the shop.
Inside the shop, there was long no more medicine powder for sale, but there were still some members of the Demon Hunting Teams waiting for the sale.
"I have good news for everyone. Our Master Chu Qing has understood your demands and, despite the hardship, has produced another batch of medicine powder. However, this is the last batch for today. If you want to purchase it tomorrow, you’ll have to wait until this time."
Chu Lu’s gaze went past the counter and landed on those members of the Demon Hunting Team dressed in leather armor. He liked to call them "Mountain Bullies" because they were all just good-for-nothings scraping a living in the Tianpo Mountains.
Anyone with a bit of skill wouldn’t choose the knife’s edge life of a Demon Hunting Team since the Tianpo Mountains, with Lan Yancha present, have always been territory of the Demon Clan.
"Selling again?"
A burly man standing outside the door suddenly lifted his head, his eyes widening like copper bells, but as he tried to step forward, he was blocked by the Chu Family guard at the door.
"Sorry, my friend. Our master has said that while the medicine powder will be sold again, it won’t be sold to those who offended the Chu Family."
Chu Lu smiled faintly, looking at the large man.
The man raised his brow; "Chu, you’re really going up against our Silver Fox Demon Hunting Team?"
"Brother Sun, why say such things? Didn’t you also cause trouble in our Chu Family’s shop before?"
Chu Lu didn’t get angry at all, in fact, his smile widened.
Sun Xiu nodded: "Fine, since your Chu Family is handling things so ruthlessly, don’t blame me for being impolite then."
Sun Xiu turned and left the Chu Family’s shop door. Chu Lu was a bit surprised; from what he knew of Sun Xiu, his temper would always spark into fire, and if he said so, Sun Xiu would undoubtedly rush in for a life-and-death fight.
Previously, Sun Xiu had been reprimanded by the Elder for losing his temper with Chu Kuang. Could it be, he’s afraid of the two Elders sitting in the hall?
Chu Lu’s gaze fell on the two Elders, who were sipping tea in the hall. As if sensing Chu Lu’s gaze, the two Elders’ faces showed faint smiles.
After leaving the Chu Family’s shop, Sun Xiu did not return to the Demon Hunting Team but instead went to a residence not far from the hospital.
Anyone familiar would know that this residence used to belong to a deputy hall master of the hospital, surnamed Zhou, named Zhou Tong.
Zhou Tong was very talented in the art of Immortal Medicine. However, he was too arrogant and made too many enemies in Tianpo City, even implicating his wife and children.
After careful thought, Zhou Tong decided to leave Tianpo City and become an itinerant doctor in other cities. Before he left, he handed over the Zhou Residence to his nephew Zhou Mo.
Zhou Mo knew his uncle well, and although he owned the Zhou Residence, he did not move in but rented it out to a woman named Sun Mei.
Zhou Mo and Sun Mei got to know each other because of the rental and later grew closer after Zhou Mo treated Sun Mei’s injured brother, Sun Xiu, for free.
Although Sun Mei never said she wanted to marry Zhou Mo, Sun Xiu knew his sister Sun Mei had moved in with Zhou Mo long ago.
"Sis, I did what you asked me to do. Why hasn’t my brother-in-law returned yet?"
Sun Xiu was inherently impatient, and helping Zhou Mo this time forced him to suppress his fiery temper again and again.
As soon as he completed what Zhou Mo asked, he immediately rushed back, hoping Zhou Mo could reveal the rest of the plan to him.
Sun Mei glared at him: "Why are you in a hurry? Can’t you see I’m picking vegetables? Come help. The hall master of the hospital is coming over for dinner today, so perk up. Don’t just grin foolishly."
Sun Mei had just finished speaking when Zhou Mo’s laughter echoed from outside the courtyard.
"Hall Master, you wouldn’t have thought, actually, my home is so close to where you live."
Zhou Mo opened the courtyard door with a push of his hand.
"If you didn’t say so, I really wouldn’t have guessed. Tell me the truth. This residence, it wasn’t allocated to you by the hospital, was it?"
Tang Ming smiled, looking at Zhou Mo, while Zhao Jian and Guo Muye, standing next to Tang Ming, nodded in agreement.
Zhou Mo sighed deeply: "Hall Master, your perceptive eyes know everything under the heavens. Yes, this residence doesn’t belong to me; I’m just staying here. I imagine Elder Guo and Deputy Hall Master Zhao know about Zhou Tong."
"Zhou Tong? You are called Zhou Mo. It must be. You two are relatives? I remember, Mr. Zhou Tong had no children, so you are the child of his elder brother?"
Guo Muye was very excited when Zhou Mo mentioned Zhou Tong. Zhou Tong had mentored him back in the day regarding Immortal Medicine. Both were visionaries, naturally having much to discuss.
"Elder Guo, you even know this? No wonder my uncle said you were a great talent, just underestimated. He said if your strength were like his, you wouldn’t be mired in Tianpo City’s hospital."
Zhou Mo grinned, looking at Guo Muye.
Guo Muye took a deep breath, finally realizing why Zhou Mo helped him many times during his hardest days. It was all out of respect for Zhou Tong.
"Little Mo, your uncle and I were kindred spirits. If he ever returns, you must keep him at Tianpo City’s hospital. I know he left unwillingly, and the hospital didn’t grow under him, but now with Hall Master Tang Ming, the Tianpo City Hospital will surely become the most brilliant hospital of the Jiulong Dynasty."
Guo Muye’s mouth curved slightly; he was always confident in his judgment.
