Chapter 2210: Chapter 2206: Fox Spirit Mountain Range
The room fell into silence, Hu Jiusheng took a deep breath and then said, "No wonder, no wonder it became like this. Don’t worry, the matters of West Continent City can be discussed in detail. Tomorrow, you all follow me to Fox Spirit Mountain. My cave mansion is over there, and even if West Continent City is to rise again, much preparation needs to be done."
Yan Fei reached out, brought out the Golden Healing Pill, and handed it to Tang Ming: "Since you’re the son of Tang Mosheng, we’re family. Don’t worry, the rebuilding of West Continent City, the people of the West Continent will stand by the Tang Family’s side. After all, back in the day, the Tang Family gave a great kindness to the West Continent. I’ll have people go around tomorrow and inform the old fellows in the West Continent to prevent problems among ourselves later."
"Senior, these things I made myself, and since you’re visiting friends, you naturally need to bring some gifts. I have a few here, consider it a gift to those uncles and elders."
Tang Ming reached out and again took out several bottles of Golden Healing Pills and Treasure Blue Pills and handed them over.
"Hahaha, just like your father, you know how to handle things."
A faint smile appeared on Hu Jiusheng’s face.
Tang Ming merely smiled and said nothing.
With Hu Jiusheng joining, Tang Ming began to understand some of the affairs concerning West Continent Town.
West Continent Town had completely disappeared after the destruction of West Continent City. Now, it was inhabited by miners who came to mine.
The miners claimed to be people of West Continent Town and slowly settled here, forming what is now known as the people of West Continent Town.
"Once everything is settled tomorrow, I’ll accompany you to West Continent Town."
Hu Mei’er stood by Tang Ming’s side and said with a smile.
"Alright, I also want to see what West Continent Town looks like now."
Tang Ming was a bit taken aback and then said.
"More unbearable than you imagine, and it devours without leaving bones."
Hu Mei’er first paused, then sighed helplessly.
Early the next morning, Tang Ming’s convoy followed behind the Hu Family’s carriage, heading directly toward Fox Spirit Mountain.
Fox Spirit Mountain is a mountain range near West Continent Town, famed for a Spirit Stone Active Mine. In the past, many fought over it. But with Hu Jiusheng’s reputation, though he hadn’t been around for years, his clan still used his formations to guard this mine.
"This mountain is full of cave mansions, not very suitable for humans. However, building houses is no problem for me. I’ll arrange this, and your people will just cooperate with me."
Hu Jiusheng is an Array Master, someone who can build West Continent City, so constructing a few residential houses is fairly easy.
Tang Ming nodded, turned around, and called Guo Muye and Shan Ze over: "This is my uncle, Hu Jiusheng, whom I mentioned to you last night. We’re temporarily staying at his place, but all of his homes are cave mansions, suited for the Demon Clan. We need to build houses. You two take care of this."
Shan Ze nodded: "Don’t worry, City Lord, you point where, and I’ll handle there. I’m just a brick in your hand, use me where needed."
"Hahaha, the capable have more work. There will indeed be matters later, and we need your help. Remember, this is my uncle’s home, and the demons here are friends. Do not harm them."
Tang Ming nodded. In Tianpo City, demons were enemies, so it was challenging to manage people here.
Guo Muye nodded approvingly, though he did not trust Hu Jiusheng deep down, seeing Tang Ming’s expression, he knew that there seemed to be some sort of arrangement between them.
"Don’t worry, City Lord. I’ll handle things here without any issues," Guo Muye also nodded.
Hu Jiusheng arranged for people to start building houses and had his clan help prepare food for Tang Ming’s people.
Meanwhile, Hu Mei’er led the Five — Three-tailed Black Fox Spirit Tail, Tang Ming, Lan Yanyou, Gehou, and Ying Chou — to West Continent Town.
It was upon reaching West Continent Town that Tang Ming understood why Hu Mei’er said it wasn’t suitable to go directly.
The land here was all black, and there was a faint gray aura that could clearly be felt emanating from the ground.
The small town had sparse, low, simple houses, filled with inhabitants, but mostly those with only Qi Refinement Realm cultivation.
Seeing Tang Ming and his group, some children ran over to beg for food, and Ying Chou crouched down to distribute the food he had prepared to them.
"The land here can’t be farmed," Tang Ming observed, looking at Hu Mei’er beside him.
Hu Mei’er nodded: "Not just here, I will take you to where the West Continent City produced Spirit Rice. You’ll understand then."
Tang Ming nodded. Because they gave food to the children, the people here now looked at them more kindly.
Gehou was somewhat moved by this place, having distributed much of the food previously. As an assassin, her observation was sharp; she’d been watching those children who got food all along.
Many kids, after receiving food, quickly stuffed it into their mouths, showing happy smiles for having food to eat.
Yet there was a skinny, sallow little girl who, after receiving food, didn’t eat it but put it into her bosom, merely licking her fingers before running to a nearby low house.
Gehou walked toward that humble house, hearing the sound of groaning from within. She peered through a small window and saw inside.
The little girl was feeding the food she had received to an elderly woman lying on a bed.
"Gehou."
Desiring to go to the grain-producing area Hu Mei’er previously mentioned, Tang Ming turned to see Gehou before a local’s door and frowned, calling out.
Gehou turned to look at Tang Ming, her face streaked with tears: "Young Master, can you save her?"
It was the first time Tang Ming saw tears on Gehou’s face. This female assassin had indeed a soft heart. Sometimes Tang Ming wondered how she became an assassin, under the protection of the Grim Reaper, she seemed to never truly grow up.
Approaching the local house, it was evident that the young girl had heard the sound, recoiling into a tremor in the corner.
The elderly lady lying on the sickbed continued to groan amidst bouts of coughing. Tang Ming raised an eyebrow: "It’s an infectious disease. What’s going on?"
The old woman had clearly been ill for a long time, and if the young girl stayed with her any longer, she’d surely perish here.
Tang Ming’s words caused the little girl’s face to change drastically. She knelt to the ground with a thud: "No, don’t burn grandma. Mom and Dad are dead, all that’s left is grandma. Ling’er, Ling’er gives herself to Young Master, begging you not to burn grandma."
