If Yu Lian could condense her Primordial Spirit and advance to the Third Realm, Wang Ping would be more confident in facing the future’s uncertainties. However, he couldn’t possibly joke about such a matter.
Yu Lian made it sound easy, but how could reaching the Third Realm truly be so simple? If it were, the Spiritual Snake Race would have long since dominated Hu Mountain Country.
"My parents were already very powerful in Hu Mountain Country!"
Sensing Wang Ping’s emotions, Yu Lian instantly guessed what he was thinking and declared this quite proudly.
Her words carried a hint of pride, but they were also the truth.
Wang Ping chuckled and reached out to gently pat Yu Lian’s head, but she easily dodged him and said, "Hurry up and try it."
"Alright!"
Wang Ping looked up at the Primordial Spirit he had manifested, cleared his mind of all unnecessary thoughts, and focused the majority of his consciousness on it. The Primordial Spirit then detached from his Spiritual Body and sat cross-legged above it. First, he checked the condition of his Spiritual Body. Thankfully, the Spirit Vein Consciousness had not awakened.
Just then, Yu Lian coiled around Wang Ping’s arm, unconditionally linking her Qi Sea to his and forming small Spiritual Energy Vortexes. Her divine soul then emerged from her body, coiling around Wang Ping’s Primordial Spirit and completely connecting with his Primordial Spirit Consciousness.
"Are you ready?"
"Ready!"
They communicated within the Spirit Sea.
Wang Ping hesitated no longer. His Primordial Spirit gazed about, sensing the Spiritual Energy stirred by the Spirit Gathering Array within the Garden Dojo. Following the method recorded in the *Taiyan Talisman*, he calmed his mind and resonated with the surrounding Spiritual Energy, attempting to absorb it to strengthen his Primordial Spirit.
Simultaneously, he summoned the locust tree’s characteristics from within his Primordial Spirit, using the spirituality of the Inspiration Realm for nourishment. He was nurturing the ’Divine Soul Guide’.
The process of absorbing Spiritual Energy went smoothly. While absorbing it, his Primordial Spirit seemed to gain a real-world sense of touch, feeling warmth one moment and a bone-chilling cold the next.
The nurtured ’Divine Soul Guide’ resembled a cyan-gray flower petal born in the Inspiration Realm. The surrounding Spiritual Energy seemed to dance, circling the locust tree consciousness’s characteristics to form a palm-sized vortex of Spiritual Energy.
"I can feel a wave of malice!"
"I feel it too."
As Wang Ping grew accustomed to the sensation of his Primordial Spirit absorbing Spiritual Energy, a flood of mad memories appeared in his consciousness. Although Qianmu Mountain’s Barrier Formation blocked the invasion of Spiritual Creatures, their consciousness could still travel through the Spiritual Energy and into his Primordial Spirit.
These mad memories were outrageous. Some carried self-destructive tendencies, others were deeply depressive—much like the moods Tongyu Taoist sometimes displayed—and still others were violently irritable. They stoked the various negative emotions deep within Wang Ping’s heart, attempting to drag him down into madness with them.
Wang Ping’s method for suppressing these negative emotions was to extend his Primordial Spirit Consciousness to cover the entirety of Qianmu Temple, using the emotions of its thousands of disciples as a buffer. With Yu Lian’s reminders as well, he was almost completely unaffected.
Once he was stable, Wang Ping took out the ’Lingyuan Pill’ he had prepared and fed it to Yu Lian.
The moment the Elixir entered her mouth, it immediately reacted with the Spirit Vein growing inside her. As its medicinal power dispersed, Wang Ping used his own Qi Sea and Primordial Spirit to draw the Elixir’s potency into himself.
"See? I told you it would work. Simple, right?" A cheerful ripple spread through Yu Lian’s emotions.
Wang Ping’s spirits lifted as well, dispelling many of the negative emotions brought on by the Spiritual Energy. He then asked, "Do you want to try it now?"
Yu Lian thought for a long moment before replying, "Alright!"
She was nothing if not decisive.
Wang Ping suppressed his worry. With a shift of his consciousness, the hand of his Spiritual Body patted the storage pouch at its waist and retrieved the ’Nine Revolutions Pill’.
Seeing the ’Nine Revolutions Pill’, Yu Lian stretched out her neck and swallowed it in one gulp.
Once the Elixir entered Yu Lian’s stomach, it merged with the Spirit Vein inside her, causing her physical spirituality to multiply severalfold in an instant. Spirit bodies from the Inspiration Realm involuntarily converged upon her physical form and divine soul.
Then, through his conscious link with Yu Lian, Wang Ping felt her unbearable pain.
"It hurts a bit!"
Yu Lian coiled even more tightly around Wang Ping’s arm, her tail thrashing. The divine soul gathered around Wang Ping’s Primordial Spirit expanded to a length of dozens of yards.
While soothing Yu Lian within his Spirit Sea, Wang Ping formed a Spell with his hands, creating two Blessing Talismans that he sent into her body. He also used the ’Cyan Wood Technique’ to help clear the sudden surge of spirituality within her Spirit Veins.
Her pain relieved, Yu Lian’s emotions gradually stabilized. But she had, after all, taken a ’Nine Revolutions Pill’. The Elixir’s medicinal potency could theoretically last for several years. At her Second Realm cultivation level, it would probably last for over a decade, and the resulting elixir toxins could linger for decades more.
The man and the snake maintained this state until the next day. Yu Lian’s Spirit Veins showed no signs of discomfort, and her divine soul had adapted to the surging spirituality, beginning to absorb Spiritual Energy in a regulated manner to temper itself.
After a day of refinement, Wang Ping felt his Primordial Spirit had grown a bit stronger. He flew a lap around the courtyard and felt quite good, but when he tried to leave, his Primordial Spirit’s spirituality began to dissipate at a visible rate. It looked as if it would collapse at any moment, scaring him into rushing back to his Spiritual Body.
’So it’s an issue with spirituality!’
He muttered to himself, feeling his spirituality return as his Primordial Spirit reconnected with his Spiritual Body, and he recalled the sensation from when it had moved away.
In that instant, it felt as though his very consciousness was splitting apart—the consciousness linking his Spiritual Body and Primordial Spirit was separating, as if they were about to become two independent individuals. On top of that, the Spirit Vein Consciousness within his Spiritual Body had nearly reawakened.
’Can Primordial Spirit Consciousness be separated?’
After his Primordial Spirit returned to his Spiritual Body, Wang Ping began to ponder this question. Based on the changes he had just experienced, it was theoretically possible to split his Primordial Spirit, but something bad would undoubtedly happen.
Unfortunately, cultivation methods for the Third Realm and above were all undisclosed secrets. He could either seek guidance from others or try to figure it out on his own.
’If a Cultivator’s Primordial Spirit Consciousness can be separated, then many things would become simpler... or more complicated.’
At this thought, Wang Ping wanted to experiment. Just as he was about to cast a Spell, something occurred to him. He took out a pair of divination blocks and threw them for a reading.
A Holy Trigram!
Afterward, he drew upon a small portion of the killing intent and desire from the depths of his mind, summoned the ’Heaven-Reaching Talisman’, and used Wood Spirit Qi to separate this sliver of consciousness from his Sea of Consciousness.
Wang Ping carefully observed his own condition and felt no discomfort. However, the portion of desire and consciousness he had just expelled seemed to return the moment he started thinking about it.
’It’s really not that simple.’
He shook his head with a wry smile, suppressing the idea of driving all desire from his consciousness, and then promptly deleted the thought from his memory.
’Memories can be clearly deleted, but consciousness and desire can’t. Interesting.’
As he mused, Wang Ping carefully observed Yu Lian’s condition. After confirming she was fine, he took out a jade slip and recorded his recent discovery.
Once he finished writing, he surveyed the small courtyard.
Next, he had to prepare for the assault on True Yang Mountain. After advancing to the Third Realm, he gained the ability to bestow a brand-new consciousness upon puppets. He could also make them imitate the Qi Sea and the meridians of a living being’s limbs. Therefore, placing the ’Five Elements Condensation Technique’ inside a puppet should, in theory, also be possible.
For actual combat, the best method would be to place the ’Five Elements Condensation Technique’ inside the puppets of a ’Soldier Talisman’ while also refining a toxic Magical Artifact to be used in conjunction with it. That would be a nightmare for the vast majority of Cultivators.
P.S. The ’Five Elements Condensation Technique’ is the Power Pill.
