Chapter 33: Chapter 33: Senior Realm

Wu Chen’s figure moved through the dense forest like a startled rabbit. The complex terrain and the smooth, moss-covered stones did nothing to slow him down.

After shouting for a while, he took a moment to glance at his panel.

[Deep Red Host] Wu Chen

[Martial Arts Realm] Fourth Level Flesh Refining Realm (Breath Concealment Skill: Body Tempering Realm, Fourth Level)

[Martial Arts & Cultivation Techniques] Ghost Howl Saber Technique, Red Sand Palm (Great Success), Tiger Ferocity Fist (Great Success)...

[Current Point Allocation] Savage Bull Body (Great Success) Proficiency +1+1+1

[Awaiting Point Allocation] Returning Wind Palm, Willow Kick.

After he finished allocating points to the Ghost Howl Saber Technique, his realm advanced just as he had expected, reaching the Fourth Level of the Flesh Refining Realm.

His gaze shifted to the bottom of the panel, where the skills listed for current and pending point allocation were several basic Martial Arts.

He had obtained them by casually killing some Blood Slaughter Sect disciples on his way to shout for the refugees to head to the mountaintop.

This also gave him a continuous supply of stamina, allowing him to run through the mountains and silently accumulate Qi Power within his body.

’I’ve made my rounds and notified everyone I needed to. Time to head to the summit.’

Wu Chen estimated the time, then turned and ran toward the summit of Broken Blade Mountain.

To prevent any accidents from befalling Liu Linshan and the others, he ran without conserving his stamina. His figure moved through the forest like a cheetah, and the wind stirred by his passage tore the nearby blades of grass to shreds.

WHOOSH!

In less than a moment, Wu Chen burst through the screen of trees. The world before him suddenly brightened, and his breathing became easier.

He looked around at the scenery on the summit of Broken Blade Mountain. It was a relatively flat, open area.

It lacked the oppressive dimness of the dense, tree-shrouded forest below.

A dozen or so refugees had already gathered on the summit, clustered in small groups.

’Looks like they all rushed here after hearing about the vast amount of medicinal herbs on the summit.’

Seeing them looking around, their faces etched with disappointment, Wu Chen understood.

"Young Master Wu!"

In the distance, Liu Linshan and his companions waved at Wu Chen, who was standing at the edge of the forest.

Wu Chen walked over.

As he walked, he noticed a few refugees with bruised and swollen faces, looking fearfully at Liu Linshan’s group.

"What happened?" he asked curiously.

Liu Linshan said, "This bunch was tricked into coming up here. When they didn’t see any herbs, they started cursing our ancestors."

"If it was just my doing, I might have let it slide. But you’re involved too, Young Master Wu, aren’t you?"

"So how could I just stand there and take it?"

"So the few of us taught them a lesson."

"Then, when they tried to go back down the mountain, we stopped them and beat them again. That’s when they finally behaved."

Wu Chen nodded. "Good work."

’If we’d really let them go down the mountain, it would have been trouble.’

He then turned to Zhou Yuntao and the others and asked in a low voice, "Master Liu has told you everything, right?"

"He has."

Zhou Yuntao nodded, his eyes shining with excitement. "Six hundred Blood Slaughter Sect disciples in these mountains... Looks like we’re in big trouble this time."

Perhaps because they had seen Wu Chen single-handedly slay a hundred Demon Corpses, Zhou Yuntao and the others were actually looking forward to the arrival of these six hundred men.

It wasn’t just because Wu Chen was there. A large part of it was that there was no retreat from Broken Blade Mountain.

Once the Blood Slaughter Sect disciples arrived, they would have no other choice.

Only by carving a bloody path could they escape this den of demons.

Wu Chen paused in thought for a moment before explaining to them why he had brought them to the summit.

"The reason I had you come to the summit is because Guards are standing watch at the foot of the mountain, and there are several powerful team leaders back at the Zhuangzi. If even one Demon Sect disciple escapes and makes it back to the Zhuangzi, it’ll be a disaster. That’s why I had to resort to this plan..."

"Young Master Wu, you don’t need to explain."

Now fully aware of the situation, Zhou Yuntao said with a determined expression, "How could we not trust you!"

"Exactly!"

The others nodded in agreement. "We’ll do whatever you say. This time, we’ve got to cut down a few Demon Sect disciples just for the thrill of it."

"But our trust is one thing."

Liu Linshan, who was standing to the side, chimed in nonchalantly, "The problem is the other refugees."

As he spoke, he jerked his chin toward the forest, gesturing for Wu Chen to look.

Just then, a rather sturdy-looking young man emerged from that direction, leading four or five other refugees onto the summit.

"Where are the herbs? Huh? Where are the medicinal herbs?!"

The moment this young man arrived, he started yelling at the top of his lungs, his demeanor incredibly arrogant.

His strength was the highest among the refugees, and he held the most prestige, so naturally, he felt he had the right to be arrogant.

Upon seeing him, the refugees who had been beaten up by Liu Linshan’s group immediately ran over, their faces full of grievance.

One of them didn’t forget to look back and shoot a provocative glance, clearly intending to tattle and have the young man stand up for them.

"Heh."

Wu Chen let out a soft chuckle. "See? I was just worrying about how to handle this, and now a solution has delivered itself to my doorstep."

He strode slowly toward the young man, ignoring the tattler who was pointing and gesturing at him.

"So, you’ve come to apologize to my little brothers?" the young man asked, looking disdainfully at the approaching Wu Chen with a mocking expression.

Wu Chen said calmly, "From now on, you will follow my orders."

"Huh? Hahaha!"

Hearing this response, the young man first failed to process it, then immediately burst out laughing in anger.

"On what grounds? A mere Fourth Level Body Tempering Realm cultivator like you? Are you even worthy?"

SHING!

The steel saber in his hand left its sheath, transforming into a silver glint as it chopped toward Wu Chen’s head.

He intended to slaughter this arrogant fool who didn’t know his own limits and dared to provoke him.

"Kid, watch your mouth in your next life..." he sneered.

CLANG!

Amid the sharp ring of clashing metal, the young man swallowed the rest of his words. A force like a charging bull traveled up from the saber’s hilt, numbing half his body.

He stared blankly at his right hand. It was empty. The saber was gone.

Then he looked at Wu Chen’s crimson palm, which was now gripping the blade, and his eyes went wide.

He had snatched the blade with his bare hand!

But before he could figure out what had just happened...

Wu Chen’s palm, gripping the body of the blade, suddenly clenched. With a sharp jerk of his arm, the steel saber in his hand instantly shattered into several pieces.

The broken pieces of the blade flew out with undiminished force and a whistling sound, embedding themselves completely in the dirt by the young man’s feet.

THUNK! THUNK! THUNK!

Seeing this, the young man stumbled backward in terror, his teeth chattering.

When had he ever seen such a technique before!

"Am I worthy now?" Wu Chen asked calmly.

"This is a f*cking Fourth Level Body Tempering Realm cultivator?!"

At this point, how could he not understand what he had run into? He immediately dropped to his knees. "Senior! This junior will listen to everything you say!"

Wu Chen nodded. Seeing that the surrounding refugees were all staring in a daze, he knew the time was right and proceeded to explain the current situation.

The young man nodded repeatedly. However, as he heard that they were surrounded by demon cultivators, that Broken Blade Mountain was a cliff, and that there was no way to retreat, his face grew increasingly ashen.

"Don’t worry, Senior. I’ll make sure everyone is properly organized. I absolutely won’t let a single person escape."

Though his face was pale and his body trembled, the young man still made his solemn promise.

Wu Chen didn’t say anything more. He simply walked to the side, sat down, and rested.

However, his attention remained locked on the young man. If the fellow even showed the slightest intention of entering the forest, Wu Chen would kill him on the spot.

Fortunately, the young man made no strange moves. He had also heard of the Blood Slaughter Sect’s evil reputation, so he understood the gravity of the situation and did everything exactly as Wu Chen had instructed.

With his help, the refugees emerging from all directions in the forest were quickly pacified. They sat down quietly, making no unusual movements.

The number of refugees on the summit grew from ten, to thirty, and then to fifty.

When the number of refugees reached over fifty, a dark figure leaped out from the forest.

It was a disciple of the Blood Slaughter Sect.

Looking at all the "great medicines" on the summit, he burst out laughing.

"I wonder which clever disciple from our sect came up with such a brilliant method, gathering all these great medicines here..."

SWOOSH!

A gentle breeze seemed to pass by. The Blood Slaughter Sect disciple’s words came to an abrupt halt as his body fell backward to the ground.

Wu Chen sheathed his saber, turned, and sat back down in his original spot.

Liu Linshan and Zhou Yuntao, who had been ready and waiting, skillfully moved forward. After quickly looting the corpse, they carried the Demon Sect disciple’s body and threw it off the cliffs of Broken Blade Mountain.
