Chapter 192 - 166: Who’s Messing With Me?Chapter 192: Chapter 166: Who’s Messing With Me?
Fang Qiang wanted to see the leadership. Under the circumstances, Sun Wei didn’t dare refuse to report it.
He went to Zhao Hui’s office to make the report, only to find it filled with people.
His third uncle was here today, making the atmosphere rather awkward.
While there’s a case to be made for hiring capable relatives, no one ever did it this brazenly.
But it couldn’t be helped. His third uncle had always been a timid, submissive, farmer type. If Zhao Hui didn’t personally arrange things for him, his uncle would likely have a very difficult time starting his new job.
Zhao Hui summoned the head of the engineering department and personally handed his uncle over. He then patiently chatted with them in the office for a good while to show his favor.
This left the department head wondering, ’Has President Zhao gotten this arrogant? Isn’t he afraid President Xu or the corporate leaders will find out?’
’Just inserting a relative like that... It’s like he thinks this whole plaza belongs to the Zhao Family.’
Zhao Hui caught Sun Wei pacing outside his office a few times out of the corner of his eye and waved him in.
His office had glass partitions, so everything was visible from both inside and out.
Sun Wei came in and reported, "Sir, President Fang Qiang from Yino wants to come discuss the Sa Mo partnership. I was wondering when you might have some time?"
’Fang Qiang?’ Zhao Hui couldn’t be bothered to see him. Besides, what was there to even discuss about Sa Mo? He would consider both parties’ situations and propose a compromise. He had the authority to decide for both sides anyway.
"You talk to him. Didn’t I already give you the partnership proposal? Just stick to that."
Sun Wei froze. He was surprised that Zhao Hui didn’t want to see Fang Qiang. ’So it seems Fang Qiang isn’t that big of a deal in my boss’s eyes, huh?’
’In that case, I’ve been worrying for nothing!’
And so, Zhao Hui continued chatting with his uncle, leaving Fang Qiang for Sun Wei to handle.
Given Junxiao Square’s stature, if it weren’t for the connection to Zhao Hui, and if the Sa Mo brand hadn’t just released a collaboration with Chanel, Sun Wei wouldn’t have even bothered to meet with the old Fang Qiang.
He probably would have just sent a subordinate supervisor to deal with him. As a leasing manager, he had plenty on his own plate.
Fang Qiang parked his car and took the elevator from the garage up to the Junxiao Square management offices.
’Ah, what a fine day. Feeling sharp. Everything’s just twice as good!’
He’d completely forgotten that it was still drizzling outside.
The saying "a joyous occasion lifts the spirits" was certainly true!
At this moment, Fang Qiang felt like he could do whatever he wanted in the Han River business world. That one phone call from the Vice President of Ganglong International was more potent than any stimulant.
He strode forward, head high and chest puffed out, with the swagger of a man who owned the world, anticipating the enthusiastic reception he was about to receive from the leadership of Junxiao Square.
When he reached the front desk, he was asked if he had an appointment.
Fang Qiang said, "I had Xiao Sun schedule a meeting with your boss. Just tell him President Fang from Yino is here."
"Xiao Sun? Which Xiao Sun?" There were several employees with the surname Sun at Junxiao Square. The receptionist was confused, unsure who he meant.
"Sun Wei! Your leasing manager!"
"Oh, right!" The receptionist hurriedly dialed an internal line to inform Sun Wei.
Sun Wei was gracious enough to come out and greet him personally. From a distance, he called out, "Fang, you made it!"
’Fang?’ Fang Qiang was a little dissatisfied. ’Can’t he call me President Fang?’ He conveniently forgot that he had just called the other man "Xiao Sun."
Sun Wei led him to his desk. Leasing managers didn’t have private offices, but as the head of the department, Sun Wei had a large, separate executive desk.
It was at the far end of the area, with a small reception space next to it furnished with a round table and a few chairs.
In the past, whenever Fang Qiang came, he would have to stand and wait for ages until Sun Wei finished his work, who would then fob him off with a few cursory words.
But things were different now. Coming here again, his mindset had completely changed.
Without waiting for an invitation from Sun Wei, he plopped himself down in the chair opposite the desk and crossed his legs.
"Xiao Sun, go see if your boss is free yet. If he is, let’s just go over. I’m very busy myself, I don’t have much time to sit here and shoot the breeze with you."
Sun Wei sneered internally. ’You son of a bitch. You used to treat me like you were praying to a god, and today you’re acting all high and mighty?’
Remembering how Zhao Hui didn’t even want to see the man, Sun Wei didn’t take Fang Qiang seriously at all.
’Sa Mo is a hot commodity now, and Yino Company’s fortunes have risen with the tide,’ Sun Wei thought. ’But if we’re talking about a real status boost, that’s all on the man in charge, Liu Haoran.’
’You, Fang Qiang, are just an errand boy. Who the hell do you think you are? It’s one thing to ride on someone else’s coattails, but you’re actually starting to believe your own hype.’
"Fang, the matter you called about this morning... you can just discuss it with me."
Hmm? The smile vanished from Fang Qiang’s face. He sat up straight. "Your boss really puts on airs. The head of business at Ganglong and I are in regular contact by phone, and your boss won’t even meet a client face-to-face!"
Fang Qiang had a loose tongue. Any normal person would know better than to say something like that, at least to keep up appearances.
All he accomplished by saying it was offending someone and getting to mouth off for a second; it served no other purpose.
And just like that, Sun Wei’s mood soured. He sneered, "I guess our boss just doesn’t realize how big President Fang has become. Otherwise, I’m sure he would drop everything important he’s doing to come and receive President Fang’s instructions!"
Fang Qiang detected his displeasure, but things were different now. He couldn’t be bothered with Sun Wei’s feelings.
Sun Wei pulled a Positioning Map from a stack of files and spread it out on the table. "President Fang, the plan is to place Sa Mo in the central atrium area on the first floor. The visibility and customer flow are both excellent. It’s essentially a core location for the first floor."
Zhao Hui had originally planned to give Sa Mo one of the spots occupied by Four Seasons Clothing, but this new location was even better, so he’d settled on it.
Fang Qiang craned his neck to look. "This spot won’t do," he said. "We need the main entrance on the first floor."
