Carlos twisted the claw with both hands and all his strength.
The first link cracked, but the Warden pulled.
Carlos was dragged with Brann, but he did not release the claw.
"PULL THE OTHER WAY!"
Brann understood.
The Bearkin planted his feet and threw his whole weight backward.
Carlos twisted again. His ribs screamed in pain, but the damaged link finally broke.
Brann fell free while the Warden stared at the empty chain in its hand.
The Bearkin picked up his hammer and roared.
"Now I hit," he shouted.
Carlos spat the blood from his mouth and stood beside Brann.
Brann stayed in front.
The Warden struck at him with both hands, but the Bearkin entered Defensive Stance and blocked the first hit with his hammer. A thunderous impact shook the courtyard.
The stone beneath Brann’s feet cracked, but he remained standing.
Carlos moved around the Warden’s damaged knee.
His spear entered beneath the broken plate, and he pushed until the iron tip disappeared.

Chainbound Hell Warden HP: 2,201/2,800

The Warden kicked Carlos as if he were a bug. He flew across the courtyard and struck a broken pillar. Blood burst from his mouth.
--
HP: 128/360
--
His broken ribs shifted when he breathed.
The Warden raised both arms to finish what it had started.
The four chains extending from its back swept across the entire courtyard.
[Chain Reap]
Carlos dropped behind the broken pillar as one chain whipped toward him.
The first chain cut through the stone above him.
The second wrapped around the pillar and tore it from the ground.
The chains changed direction without the Warden touching them.
Carlos ran before the remaining chains reached him.
Brann blocked one with his hammer.
Another struck his side and tore open his armor, making the Bearkin grunt.
--
Brann HP: 207/550
--
The Bearkin fell to one knee.
Carlos took out a Troop Recovery Potion and threw it.
"USE THIS!"
The command made Brann look toward him despite the pain.
Brann caught the bottle in one paw and crushed it against his chest. The liquid entered his wounds, and they began healing slowly.
--
Brann HP: 317/550
--
Carlos drank a Medium Recovery Potion while the Warden pulled all four chains back.
Their ends rose above the courtyard, and black fire gathered around them.
"MOVE!"
The chains struck the ground, and four explosions filled the courtyard.
Carlos ran through the first wave of heat.
His Ironweave Coat protected his body, but fire entered through its damaged sections.
--
HP: 166/360
--
The recovery potion restored his health almost as quickly as the flames took it, but the pain was unbearable.
Brann was still fighting. Carlos was not going to leave the courtyard without him.
Carlos reached the Warden again while the heat assaulted him. He climbed the broken plate on its knee, stabbed the spear into its thigh and used the shaft to pull himself higher.
The Warden tried to grab him, but Brann understood what Carlos was doing and struck its other knee.
The creature lost its balance, and Carlos reached for the second eye.
He thrust forward but the Warden moved its head.
The spear scraped across iron instead and one chain wrapped around Carlos’s ankle.
It pulled him from the Warden’s body and slammed him into the ground.
--
HP: 97/360
--
The Warden lifted him again.
Carlos saw the courtyard turn beneath him.
The chain threw him toward the darkness beyond the broken pillars.
But Brann jumped at that moment and the Bearkin caught Carlos with both arms and landed on his back.
They slid across the stone.
"You caught me," Carlos muttered under heavy breaths.
Brann pushed him aside slowly and stood.
"Fight."
"Good idea."
Carlos used the High-grade Recovery Potion.
It was the final High-grade Recovery Potion he possessed.
Golden energy moved through his body.
His cracked ribs repaired. The burns across his shoulder closed, and strength returned to his arms.
--
HP: 360/360
[Excess recovery energy detected]
[Temporary regeneration acquired]
Duration: 5 minutes
--
Five minutes.
Carlos looked at the Warden.
"More than enough."
"Break its legs."
Brann liked that. He charged first.
The Warden used Chain Reap again but this time, Carlos ran toward the chains.
He jumped over the first and slid beneath the second.
The third struck his chest. Carlos thought it would pierce his body, but the chain was surprisingly blunt.
--
HP: 322/360
--
Regeneration began restoring the damage immediately.
Carlos wrapped one arm around the chain before it moved away.
The Warden’s own attack pulled him closer.
He flew toward its face.
Carlos pointed the spear forward with expectation to do it this time and it happened.
The iron tip entered the second eye.

Chainbound Hell Warden HP: 1,792/2,800
[Right lower eye destroyed]
--
Carlos landed on the iron mask.
He grabbed the edge covering the Warden’s mouth.
The plate moved for a moment, and Carlos saw something behind it.
Not a mouth but a red crystal that pulsed inside the Warden’s throat.
Carlos used Inspect.
--
Hellfire Heart
Commander Core
Status: Sealed
Armor Integrity: 100%
--
The Warden’s hand came faster than before, but its fingers shook.
Carlos jumped from its face.
"THE MASK!" he shouted. "BREAK THE MASK!"
Brann changed direction.
The Bearkin ran up the Warden’s bent leg and jumped. Brann’s massive body rose into the air, and his hammer began glowing.
Heavy Strike hit the iron plate covering its mouth and the whole mask bent inward.
--
Armor Integrity: 71%
--
The Warden convulsed in fury.
Hellfire exploded from all four chains.
Carlos was thrown into the ground.
Brann struck the courtyard wall and fell.
The Warden grabbed its damaged mask with both hands.
Then it pulled at it as if it was hurting or something.
The iron plate tore away, and the Hellfire Heart became visible.
The sound of a heart beating resounded everywhere and Carlos kept his eyes on the Hellfire heart.
Every red crack in the courtyard became brighter.
[Chainbound Hell Warden has released its seal]
[Commander entering final state]
The Warden’s remaining four eyes went dark.
All the fire inside its body moved into the exposed crystal.
--
Hellfire Heart Overload: 10%
--
Carlos stood as the heart beat again. This time, there was a new depth to it.
--
Hellfire Heart Overload: 20%
[Warning: At 100%, the Reverse Conquest space will collapse]
[All lifeforms inside will be eliminated]
--
Carlos read the warning, and panic rose inside him. What did it mean by all lifeforms?
Brann tried to rise but his leg failed and Carlos was too shocked to notice him this time.
The Warden wrapped both hands around the exposed crystal, protecting it.
Carlos looked at his regeneration timer.
[02:11]
The heart beat again.
[30%]
There was no time to break through both hands from the outside.
Carlos ran toward the Warden.
And as it saw him approaching, the Warden went and lowered its head and opened the space where its mouth should have been. Carlos was truly surprised by what it did.
Did the Warden want to die?
But soon he saw what was truly happening, black fire filled the tunnel leading to the heart but Carlos’s legs didn’t stop moving.
Brann was watching the whole time, and he understood what Carlos intended within seconds.
"NOOOO!!!" Brann shouted with all he had.
But Carlos could not hear anything anymore. There was finally something in front of him that could end all this. How could he sit idly or keep hitting its body when the heart was right there?
The Warden released a stream of Hellfire.
Carlos did not dodge.
He jumped directly into the Hellfire.
The first heatwave burned his skin, but it did not kill him.
That was all Carlos needed to know.
’One hit.’
His regeneration fought the flames as they stripped health from his body.
--
HP: 301/360
HP: 274/360
HP: 251/360
--
Carlos reached the opening.
He drove the Reinforced Long Spear into the burning tunnel and pulled himself inside.
The Warden’s hands closed over the entrance behind him.
And Carlos disappeared into the Warden’s body with the flames still cooking him alive.
