Himanshu’s feet froze right where he stood. His pupils widened rapidly.

’What did I just hear? Did she... did she seriously just ask for condoms?’

He whipped around. A drop of sweat rolled down his forehead seeing the scene in front of him. The shop assistant was handing a packet of condoms to the Demon with a weird smirk on his face, saying, "Have a good night, sir."

The Demon casually took it without a second thought, like it was the most normal thing in the world. Well, for someone who didn’t know what it was, it obviously would be normal!

"Wait, stop!" Himanshu yelled at the top of his lungs again.

But this time, he had absolutely zero regrets about shouting.

Both the Demon and the shop assistant snapped their eyes straight toward him. This time, confusion and a hint of anger were clearly visible on the Demon’s face.

Closing the distance in a flash, Himanshu panicked and stood right in front of the Demon. Seeing his restlessness and sweat, the Demon felt even more confident in her decision. And Himanshu’s childhood habit of not being able to explain things properly only made her more certain that he was hiding something.

"Wait! What are you grabbing? We don’t need that." Himanshu stammered.

Tilting her head up slightly in her arrogant Queen-like manner, the Demon said, "Are you deciding what we need now? I don’t trust you anyway."

Putting both his hands forward, Himanshu desperately tried to explain, "You’ve got it all wrong. That’s not what I meant."

But right then, a cheerful voice came from the side, "Safety first, man."

Himanshu glared daggers at the shop assistant.

’Shut the hell up, you bastard!’ Himanshu screamed in his head.

Then, quickly putting on an innocent face, he tried to explain it to the Demon again, "That’s... that’s not used the way you think it is."

"It’s fine. We’ll just learn how to use them," the Demon replied in a completely flat voice.

’What?!’ Clenching his fists and grinding his teeth, Himanshu said in his mind, ’How do I even explain this? She’s taking literally everything the wrong way!’

And then, the voice from the counter came again, "Buy one, get one free for first-timers."

’Shut your damn mouth!’ Himanshu yelled in his mind again.

This time, Himanshu glared at the shop assistant so fiercely that if the guy said one more word, Himanshu would literally murder him. Turning back to the Demon, he hesitated and said, "Look... couples use these. They’re for couples."

The shop assistant put both packets in polybag and was about to hand it to Himanshu, but the Demon snatched it midway. She stared deeply at the bag like she was inspecting some new weapon or armor. And then, treating it like an incredibly precious survival gear, she carried it herself with her Queenly grace and started walking ahead. And without even turning around, she said,

"I know you well enough. I just don’t want you getting into trouble... and ending up in the same state you were in this morning."

And then she stopped and turned back slightly. Looking straight into Himanshu’s eyes, she gave a strict order, "From now on, you’ll wear these every night. Understood?"

Hearing this, not a single word came out of Himanshu’s mouth. His face turned as red as a tomato out of sheer embarrassment, and he felt like his soul was trying to escape his body. His mouth hung wide open and his eyes were bulging out.

On the other hand, there was a sudden, massive shift in the shop assistant’s reaction. He was looking at Himanshu like the guy was some absolute ’Legend’, getting direct orders like that from such a beautiful girl! The blind ’respect’ in the assistant’s eyes was irritating Himanshu even more.

Saying this, the Demon walked out of the shop with her usual Queen-like attitude. Himanshu stayed standing there like a statue.

"30 dollars."

"Sir, 30 dollars."

"Hello? You in there?"

Himanshu’s trance broke with a jerk.

"That’ll be 30 dollars," the shop assistant said with a very wide smile.

’Son of a...’ Gritting his teeth, he paid the money while cursing the shop assistant heavily in his mind.

"Nice choice, bro. Wish I had a girl like that. Have a good one."

Hearing this, Himanshu’s anger started slipping out of control. This was the second time today he got this angry at a shop assistant. The first time was when a manga shop assistant didn’t have the collection of his favorite manga.

Just like always, Himanshu walked out of the shop throwing a ton of curses in his mind.

Out on the street, people kept turning their heads to look at the Demon because of her beauty. But Himanshu was used to that by now. The problem this time was different—along with her beauty, people were also staring really hard at the polybag in her hand. And then they would walk past, giving Himanshu a cheeky, teasing smile.

This was the first time Himanshu realized he was being noticed like this. It felt really weird to him. But he had seen so much weird stuff in just one single day that this wasn’t even a big deal anymore.

Still, just to save whatever little dignity he had left, he made up an excuse and took that polybag from the Demon.

’Alright, at least now people won’t get the wrong idea.’

Himanshu was just thinking this in his head...

When suddenly, the Demon’s pocket started vibrating.

Feeling an unknown, weird buzzing sensation, the Demon’s eyes narrowed dangerously. She thought some invisible enemy had launched a magic attack on her. She instantly snapped into a fierce defensive pose, and the very next second, she grabbed Himanshu by the collar and lifted him into the air.

"What kind of curse is this?!" she hissed in anger.

Dangling in the air and coughing, Himanshu pointed at her pocket with shaking hands, "L-let me go! It’s not a curse... it’s just a phone!"

Hearing him, the Demon dropped him. She then quickly pulled the phone out of her pocket, which was ringing loudly.
