"Yes, but for a moment I thought I was going to die," Ilbert answered, coughing up some dust from his aching lungs. He tried to sit up on the floor.

"What do you really think of the new demon king, Ryan?" Firmin asked, slowly approaching them. He looked at the city leader and the fallen Ilbert amidst the stone rubble.

"What do I think? There’s no doubt about it," Ilbert said from the floor, picking up a small, broken stone from among the large debris of the shattered wall.
