My Husband Is An International Idol

Chapter 105: An Unexpected Prescription

Chris had been discharged from the hospital two days later.

The doctors were satisfied with his recovery. His fever had completely disappeared. The cough had become occasional.

He could finally walk around the hotel without becoming dizzy after only a few minutes.

Still, the doctors insisted on one condition.

"No rehearsals. No performances. And absolutely no overworking yourself."

Chris sighed dramatically.

"I think every doctor in Europe has memorized those words."

Liliana smiled while organizing the medicine inside their hotel suite.

"And I hope you memorize them too."

He saluted playfully.

"Yes, ma’am."

The doctors assigned to Chris already knew he’s married to Liliana. Matthew made sure they signed a non disclosure agreement to keep his son’s private life hidden.

That afternoon, Chris underwent one final follow-up examination before the company resumed their European schedule.

The doctor smiled while reviewing the latest results.

"Everything looks much better."

Matthew, Amanda, Robin, and Liliana all looked relieved.

"But..."

Chris laughed.

"There’s another ’but,’ isn’t there?"

The doctor chuckled.

"There usually is. You’ve recovered well physically. Now your body simply needs good nutrition, proper sleep, light exercise when appropriate, and time with the people who help you relax."

He looked at Chris with an amused smile.

"For a happily married couple, affection and emotional closeness can certainly be part of recovery once you’re feeling well enough."

Amanda coughed into her hand.

Robin suddenly found the ceiling fascinating.

Chris blinked.

"...Doctor."

The doctor laughed.

"I’m simply reminding you that reducing stress and maintaining healthy relationships matter too."

Liliana’s cheeks instantly turned pink and quietly stared at the floor.

The moment they left the clinic, neither Chris nor Liliana mentioned what the doctor had said.

The silence lasted all the way back to the hotel.

Chris looked out the window. Liliana looked at literally everything except Chris.

The chauffeur glanced at the rearview mirror once before wisely deciding to mind his own business.

As soon as they returned, Chris excused himself to take a shower.

Liliana immediately escaped the suite.

"I’ll be back."

She practically hurried into the hallway.

Emily happened to be walking toward the elevator carrying several garment bags.

"Lily?"

She tilted her head.

"Why do you look like someone just proposed to you again?"

Liliana hesitated.

"...Can I ask you something?"

Emily’s eyes immediately sparkled.

"Oh! This sounds interesting."

A few minutes later, Emily and Liliana sat inside Mary’s room.

Mary had been reviewing tomorrow’s schedules when the two arrived.

She looked up. "What happened?"

Emily dramatically closed the door.

"Lily needs relationship advice."

Mary slowly removed her glasses.

"This should be good."

Liliana covered her face with both hands.

"I don’t know how to say this."

Emily leaned forward.

"What happened?"

Liliana quietly explained the doctor’s comments. She carefully avoided repeating every word. By the time she finished, Emily was already trying not to laugh.

Mary looked equally amused.

"So..." Emily grinned. "Your problem isn’t Chris. It’s you."

Liliana looked up.

"What?"

Emily laughed.

"You’ve been married for five years."

Mary nodded.

"And you two love each other."

Liliana’s face became even redder.

"I know..."

"But..." Emily immediately understood. "You’re embarrassed."

Liliana nodded repeatedly.

"I can’t just walk up to him and say..."

She stopped mid-sentence.

Emily burst into laughter. "You absolutely cannot."

Mary laughed softly too.

"You don’t have to announce anything."

Liliana sighed dramatically.

"I knew asking you two was a mistake."

Emily suddenly stood.

"No. It was the best decision."

She walked toward one of her suitcases. Then opened it.

Mary immediately realized what Emily was looking for.

"Oh no."

Emily smiled mischievously.

"Oh yes."

She carefully pulled out a beautifully wrapped gift box tied with a silver ribbon.

Liliana looked confused.

"...What’s that?"

Emily placed it gently on the bed.

"Emergency confidence."

Liliana blinked.

"What?"

"Open it."

Slowly, Liliana untied the ribbon.

Inside was an elegant satin sleepwear set in a soft ivory color with delicate lace details. It was tasteful and romantic rather than flashy.

Liliana immediately closed the box again.

"Emily!"

"What?"

"My heart almost stopped!"

Emily laughed so hard she nearly fell off the bed.

Mary couldn’t help laughing too.

"It’s actually very pretty."

Liliana looked completely flustered.

"I can’t wear this."

"You can."

Emily answered confidently.

"It’s elegant. Not excessive."

Mary nodded in agreement.

"And it’s something you’d actually feel comfortable wearing."

Liliana hugged the box protectively.

"I... I’ll die from embarrassment."

Emily gently placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Lily. You don’t have to force anything. This isn’t about pretending to be someone else. It’s about reminding yourself that you’re his wife."

Mary smiled warmly. "And that you don’t always have to be the one taking care of him. Sometimes, you can simply spend quiet time together."

Liliana looked at the box again.

"You really think so?"

Emily grinned. "You already did it, right?"

Liliana nodded shyly.

"How many times?"

"Do I really need to answer that?"

Emily and Mary didn’t answer, but stared at her, waiting.

"Oh my god! I can’t believe both of you." She sighed dramatically. "Fine! Well, on our first night, we did it twice."

"Then?" Emily asked impatiently.

Liliana frowned. "That’s it."

"What? That’s it?"

She nodded. "Yes. We’ve been very busy. And—"

"I don’t think you’ll have to explain anything."

Liliana frowned.

"What do you mean?"

Emily dramatically pointed toward the gift box.

"Just do what you have to do. If you walk into the room carrying that much confidence..."

She paused for effect.

"...Chris will probably understand you’re trying to do something romantic without you saying a single word."

Mary gently nudged Emily.

"Don’t tease her too much."

"I’m helping!"

Liliana buried her face in a pillow.

"I should’ve stayed in the hospital."

The room erupted with laughter.

That evening, Liliana quietly returned to her suite carrying the carefully wrapped box.

She paused outside the door. Took a deep breath. Then another.

Inside, Chris was sitting by the window reading one of the letters fans had sent during his hospital stay.

He looked up as she entered.

"You’re back."

She smiled.

"I am."

His eyes naturally drifted toward the ribboned box she was holding.

"What’s that?"

Liliana froze for half a second.

"Oh... It’s..."

She glanced down at the gift.

"...Something Emily insisted I take."

Chris chuckled knowingly.

"If Emily gave it to you..."

He closed the letter and smiled.

"...I’m almost afraid to ask."

Liliana laughed despite herself.

"So am I."

For the first time in several difficult days, the room felt light again.

The fear from the hospital, the exhaustion and the constant worry, all of it slowly gave way to laughter, gentle teasing, and the quiet comfort of simply being together.

Sometimes, recovery wasn’t measured only by medicine or test results.

Sometimes, it was measured by shared smiles, patient love, and the ability to laugh together after the hardest days.
