Five painfully long days.

For Chris St. Claire, every hour without Liliana felt unbearable.

Yet despite every instinct telling him to rush into the old Finn house, he forced himself to remain patient.

Because this wasn’t just about finding her. It was about bringing her home safely. And one reckless move could place her in even greater danger.

Before sunrise, a private aircraft quietly landed at a small airport several hours away from Sterling Village.

There were no reporters. No official convoy. No flashing police vehicles. Only ordinary-looking vans.

Matthew had personally ordered absolute secrecy.

"The fewer people who know we’re here," he said during the briefing, "the safer Liliana will be."

Everyone agreed.

By noon, several unfamiliar faces began appearing around Sterling Village. To the villagers, nothing seemed unusual.

A delivery driver unloaded boxes near the chapel. Two gardeners trimmed hedges around the Sterling ancestral house. A plumber inspected old water pipes. An electrician carried ladders from house to house. Even a small internet service team appeared to check telephone lines.

No one questioned them.

Grandmother Lucia frequently hired workers to maintain the ancestral house. Seeing new people around the neighborhood wasn’t uncommon.

What the villagers didn’t know, every single one of them belonged to the operation and had become part of the village without drawing attention.

Chris remained inside the Sterling ancestral house.

From the upstairs bedroom window, he could clearly see the abandoned Finn residence several houses away.

The curtains remained closed. No lights. No movement. It was too quiet.

Victor stood beside him, binoculars in hand.

"No activity."

Chris never looked away from the house.

"She’s there."

It wasn’t a guess. It was a certainty.

Sarah lowered another folder onto the table.

"The hidden room we found in Harry’s diary..."

She unfolded an old architectural drawing.

"...may not appear on official records."

Victor nodded.

"If he modified the house years ago, thermal imaging won’t necessarily reveal it unless someone moves."

Chris quietly clenched his jaw.

"I know she’s inside."

Meanwhile, inside the dim underground room, Liliana quietly marked another line on the wooden wall using a tiny splinter she had hidden beneath the bed.

Five. Meaning, it’s been five days since she was kidnapped.

Liliana noticed that Harry always left for short periods. Sometimes he was carrying groceries. Sometimes returning with bottled water. Then he would disappear for hours.

She had memorized every sound. Every creaking floorboard. Every lock turning. Every step.

She had also learned something else. Harry never locked the room immediately after bringing meals. He always stayed, and talked a lot. Always remembering their childhood, living inside memories that existed only in his mind.

Liliana continued doing exactly what she thought could keep her alive.

Listening. Observing. Waiting.

Outside, the surveillance operation entered its fifth day.

Nathan sat inside a parked maintenance truck.

"Still nothing?"

Aaron shook his head.

"No movement."

River quietly watched another angle through a hidden camera.

"Not even curtains moving."

Emily looked exhausted.

"I just want to know she’s okay."

Rose and Nicole remained inside the ancestral house with Grandmother Lucia. Neither cousin had stopped praying.

Every evening, Lucia quietly joined them.

"We’ll bring her home."

She said those words every night. Even when no one could answer.

Late that afternoon, Victor suddenly lowered his binoculars.

"Movement."

Every radio became active.

"I have visual."

Chris immediately stepped toward the window. The front door of the Finn house slowly opened. Then a man stepped outside.

For a brief moment, Chris didn’t recognize him. His appearance no longer resembled Harry Finn or Carl De Vera. His hair was longer, falling loosely around his face. His eyes were brown—clearly another pair of contact lenses. Faint, artificial tattoos marked his arms, adding to the illusion.

Victor quietly whispered,

"Harry."

Chris’s eyes hardened.

"He changed again."

Sarah nodded.

"He didn’t go back to being Harry Finn this time."

The man locked the gate carefully. Then began walking toward the village market carrying a reusable shopping bag.

Victor immediately gave instructions through the radio.

"Nobody follows too closely. Maintain distance. Do not engage. We still don’t know where Liliana is inside the property."

Everyone acknowledged.

Harry walked calmly through Sterling Village. He greeted elderly neighbors, bought vegetables, rice, medicine, fresh fruits, and bread.

Anyone watching would have thought he was simply another resident running errands. And his behavior was perfectly ordinary.

Near the village entrance, Uncle Robert stood at the gate of the Sterling ancestral house, casually checking the mail.

He wore simple clothes, a cap and reading glasses. It was completely different from his usual appearance.

It was Harry who approached him first, offering a polite smile.

"Good afternoon."

Robert looked up, returning the greeting.

"Good afternoon."

Harry extended his hand.

"Martin Wilson. I just moved into the house nearby."

Robert accepted the handshake without hesitation.

"Robert Sterling. Welcome to the neighborhood."

Harry’s smile remained steady.

"Thank you. I’ve heard this place is very peaceful."

Robert nodded.

"It is."

Harry glanced briefly toward the distant Finn house.

"I’m hoping for a quiet life."

Robert studied him for a moment, then smiled politely.

"You’ll find that here."

Harry gave a small nod.

"It was nice meeting you."

"You too."

Robert watched him walk away, his expression subtly tightening once Harry turned his back.

Only after Harry disappeared from view did Robert quietly touch the hidden earpiece beneath his collar.

His voice remained low.

"This is Robert. I’ve made contact." He paused.

"Confirmed. It’s him. Harry Finn."

He paused again. Then added the detail that unsettled him the most.

"He introduced himself as Martin Wilson."

Inside the command room, Victor slowly closed his notebook.

"Another identity. Another fake identity. He’s adapting faster than we expected."

Sarah nodded. "At least we know that he’s here."

Chris never took his eyes off the live camera feed following Harry through the village.

For five days he had waited. He silently made himself one promise.

Hold on a little longer, Lily.

I’m here.

And this time... I’m not leaving without you.
