Thomas smiled without disagreeing. He reached over and picked an envelope from the unread mail tray on the corner of Arthur’s desk.

The envelope had several airmail stamps from China Post, and the postmark was dated half a month ago.

"Sent from Hua Country?"

Thomas glanced at the return address.

"Hua Country Science and Technology University. If you don’t want to look at it, you want me to open it for you?"

"Go ahead. I could use a two-minute break for my eyes anyway."

Arthur took off his glasses and slowly wiped them with a soft cloth.

Thomas casually picked up the letter opener on the desk and slit open the envelope.

As he read on, Arthur’s gaze froze.

Arthur muttered, his eyes quickly scanning the second page.

The second page was filled with neatly formatted matrix derivations. Using the matrix’s characteristic polynomial, the author had unreasonably dragged a topological problem—one that would normally require hundreds of case-by-case discussions in geometric space—into a purely algebraic space.

Here, there were no complex graphical branches.

Arthur began turning the pages faster and faster.

Arthur read the name aloud.

"A scholar from Hua Country Science and Technology University... This writing style is too polished. It’s not at all like a young researcher who needs to pad their word count to show they’ve done the work. Have you ever heard of this person?"

Thomas stared at the name as if something had just flashed through his mind. He frowned slightly and tapped his fingers on the armrest of his chair a couple of times.

"Hua Country Science and Technology University, C. Zhuo..."

Thomas murmured to himself.

"Arthur, do you ever read preprints from the physics field?"

"Not usually. I don’t really understand them. Why?"

Thomas paused, looking at Arthur.

Arthur was stunned.

He might not be a physicist, but he knew Delian’s standing in the academic world. A big shot of that caliber would never casually drop an irrelevant name in their acknowledgments.

Arthur looked down again at the five pages in his hand—a complete deconstruction of a graph theory problem using algebraic matrices. A logical conclusion began to form naturally in his mind.

"So it’s him."

Arthur nodded in sudden understanding.

"That explains it. This C. Zhuo must be a senior professor at Hua Country Science and Technology University with deep expertise in both algebra and physics. "Indeed."

Arthur picked up a red pen from his desk and drew a circle on the top right corner of the first page.

There was no question, no request for a supplementary, tedious combinatorial proof. In the face of such a logically self-consistent and elegantly high-dimensional manuscript, any suggestion for a major revision would seem like nitpicking.

Arthur placed the manuscript into the "Accepted" tray on his right.

Thomas nodded and stood up, picking up his mug.

Thomas walked out of the office, joking as he went.

Arthur looked at the thin manuscript from China on his desk, his mood significantly brightened.

He picked up the cold coffee, took a sip, and suddenly found that even the bitter brew went down a lot smoother.
