Chapter 412: Chapter 194: Movement

As he entered the cave for the second time, the Giant Bees swarmed him.

But before they could even get near Qin Fang, they were Frozen to Death and fell to the ground.

In just a short while, a huge pile of them lay dead on the ground.

’After my True Essence completely converted to the Profound Nether Nature, its power is frighteningly immense.’

However, after several hundred more Giant Bees had died, the rest began to BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ from a distance, no longer daring to approach rashly.

It wasn’t that they were afraid, but rather that the cold aura was already affecting them, causing their movements to become increasingly Slow.

The closer they got to Qin Fang, the more intense the cold became. Their natural instinct for self-preservation kept them from approaching.

This was actually what Qin Fang had hoped for. ’Although the Bee Meat from these Giant Bees is no longer of much benefit to my cultivation, it really is a delicious snack.’

’Especially with all this honey. Just the smell alone tells me it must taste incredible, and who knows, it might even have some wondrous effects.’

’Leaving this hive of Giant Bees alive means a continuous supply of Bee Meat and honey... which is clearly much better than wiping them all out.’

’If I kill them all at once, most of this Bee Meat would just go to waste.’

With these thoughts in mind, Qin Fang began pouring the honey from the hive into his bamboo tubes.

However, the temperature around him was so low that the honey began to freeze, its golden hue gradually turning cloudy.

But the honey didn’t solidify into a hard chunk like an Iron Formation; instead, it congealed into a slush-like consistency.

Qin Fang emptied one honey cell after another.

Each cell was huge—it had to be, to nurture such massive Giant Bees. The honey from about two cells was enough to fill a single bamboo tube.

Qin Fang had brought dozens of bamboo tubes with him, and by the end, almost all of them were filled, with only a few to spare.

The ground was littered with the shattered remains of the honeycomb, along with dozens of bee larvae... however, the larvae were already dead.

They had been Frozen to Death by the Profound Nether True Essence.

The meat from the larvae was likely even tastier than that of the adult Giant Bees. He packed the dead larvae into the remaining bamboo tubes.

He glanced at the corpses of the Giant Bees on the ground...

"I’ll come back and deal with these later."

These corpses couldn’t be wasted, of course.

’It’s been a while since I’ve had Bee Meat. I’m actually starting to crave it.’

With that thought, he lifted the bamboo tubes, now strung together with vines, and flew away.

’It seems if I just stay inside a little longer and circulate my Profound Nether True Essence, I can use the cold to repel these Giant Bees... It’ll keep them from chasing me relentlessly.’

Qin Fang summarized his findings.

When he returned to the bamboo forest, Xile bounded up to greet him, panting happily, drool practically dripping from its mouth.

He tossed a larva to it.

Xile leaped up and swallowed it in a single gulp.

Then, with a single twitch of its throat, it looked back at Qin Fang, panting happily with eyes full of innocence.

’Right.’

’A whole lot of feeding for a whole lot of nothing.’

’Xile is so big now, a palm-sized larva like that isn’t even enough to get stuck in its teeth.’

Qin Fang picked up a larva for himself, popped it in his mouth, and started to chew.

The moment he bit down, his eyes lit up.

’Frozen larva... it’s cool and refreshing. The skin is a bit chewy, but the inside is filled with honey that’s like a slushy...’

And this honey... it was sweet but not cloying, with a unique, fragrant flavor.

It was a bit like the fragrance given off by the Treasure Plant in the cave, only much fainter.

"Still not as good as the Bee Meat, though."

After a few more bites, Qin Fang decided it was still a little too rich for his taste.

He simply tossed the remaining dozen or so larvae to Xile.

Xile happily trotted over, and with a flick of its tongue, it actually started chewing this time, though it still devoured them all in one go.

"No stealing the honey."

After warning Xile, Qin Fang secured the bamboo tubes and headed up the mountain again.

This time, he began collecting the corpses of the Giant Bees that had died on Old Ox Back.

A lot of Giant Bees had died this time.

Several hundred had perished near Old Ox Back alone.

These Giant Bees were so large that even with the help of ropes, Qin Fang could only transport a few dozen at a time.

When he returned, he found that although Xile was drooling while staring at the bamboo tubes, it hadn’t actually stolen any.

Qin Fang nodded in satisfaction.

’You can tell if a dog is good by whether or not it steals its master’s food.’

Clearly, Xile was a good dog.

Over the next few days, Qin Fang was busy with this task.

He moved the Giant Bee corpses and then extracted the Bee Meat.

Qin Fang planned to bring this Bee Meat back to the sect for his Master, Senior Sister, and Martial Uncles to try.

’The benefits of this meat to cultivators like my Master are surely negligible.’

’But the flavor of the Bee Meat itself is exquisite.’

It was, at least, one of the most delicious things Qin Fang had ever eaten.

The first corpses Qin Fang dealt with weren’t the ones on Old Ox Back, but rather the ones that had fallen off the cliff.

Although no one was currently living in the Li Family Ao area, the number of people from True Martial was clearly growing. A Hunter might wander into the deep mountains to hunt, and he didn’t want the Giant Bees to be discovered by others.

Fortunately, he could now fly and had his Divine Sense. The bees had fallen within a limited area, so he was quickly able to find each corpse and bring it back for processing.

Next were the ones on Old Ox Back, and finally, the ones inside the cave.

Drawing on his previous two experiences, Qin Fang first began circulating his Profound Nether True Essence from a distance. This way, the Giant Bees didn’t detect him, but they could feel the encroaching cold.

Once the cold subconsciously drove them deeper into their cave, Qin Fang gradually drew closer.

With the bees retreating and him advancing, Qin Fang managed to enter the cave easily without killing a single Giant Bee.

Then he began moving the Giant Bee corpses out of the cave, one by one.

Finally, he cleared them all out.

The entire process took a full five days.

「Five days later.」

Looking at the ground now covered in bamboo tubes, Qin Fang let out a long breath.
